I'm a little younger then your father but us older folks still have it. I lived in Orlando an Cocoa beach for 38 yrs and moved back to Southern Illinois so I could start climbing again. Illinois is my home state an people don't realize how many places around here where you can go to climb and go caving at. It's just beautiful around here. My daughter is around your guys age an her an her husband go to Maine all the time then they fly over on a sea plane where their friends live on the Yukon river. What exciting lifes both of you have. Awesome on your engagement ! Wickford, RI is a very special place. My kids are the 5th generation to sail from the house my dad grew up in ( Cape style w/ white picket fence on the harbor sea wall ). We keep our sail boat at one of the Navy made hurricane holes at Quonset. We live in Maine now and love it ! It’s been snowing lightly all day.

I got to give your dad credit going the extra mile to be with you kids. When I was 60 there's no way I'd do that hike. I don't do hikes like that. It freaks me out just watching y'all doing it. I DON'T DO HEIGHTS!!!!!!! Good thing I'm only 5'11" because anything over 6 foot is to high for me... LOL
I would have told you kids to go have fun, I'd be there waiting when y'all got back. Then it would have been bonding time for me and Jetty!!!! LOL...

Damn Billy, you're an awesome kite boarder!! Jumping the dingy with the gopro rolling was incredible! I've been sailing since I was like 5 years old, and in the 90s I got heavily into windsurfing. Have you ever windsurfed? Or did you go straight to kite boarding? I had a Ski Centurion competition ski boat and we'd slalom ski, wake board and knee board. I got pretty good at wake boarding so I think I'd pick up kite boarding pretty quickly. But the best toy you have is the trimaran. My friend owns an older Corsair, he keeps it in Annapolis, and holy crap that thing is fast!! I contacted him trying to get specifics and will let you know soon as he responds. Thank you for taking the time to create edit and post your videos, it's very time consuming! So...thank you!

I lived in Brunswick Maine for a couple of years. Some of the best times I ever had. Motorcycles all through Maine and New Hampshire, climbed Mt Washington. Great life.

I liked the catamaran with the smaller catamaran on it. I have a Boston Whaler Supercat 17 catamaran and my dream is to be able to lash it or attach it somehow to my next monohull that I'm planning on taking around the world. I don't think I can do it unless I can buy a huge boat...like a 60 footer, which unless I win the lottery I won't be able to afford. But whatever happens...bringing my 17 foot beach cat along with me sailing around the world is my dream. If anyone knows how to do this please let me know! Thank you:)

I'm 58 ,just spent 10 months hiking all through the Cascades in the pacific northwest , yellowstone,grand Tetons wyoming ,flaming gorge utah , Rocky mountain Colorado , definitely hiked way more sketchy trails than that one you just did . You should stop acting like ppl are somehow limited because of there age . I know ppl in there 80s who can outrun ,bike and free climb any of you all . You guys are cool ,but have little respect ,one thing we have that you don't , Experience.
Sorry Guys, I can NOT give you a thumbs up for this episode. In fact I can't watch the end of it. Having been a climber, abseiler and canyoner in my youth. I still enjoy going when I can - but now I'm older and wiser and I know my limitations. I know how sketchy that climb was in the wet and at dusk. At the very least you could have taken a hand line and tied it to each other and belayed each other over the sketchy bits. Making your Dad succumb to peer pressure, especially when he is afraid of heights is just wrong. I know you will say HE WANTED to complete it and hence made his own decisions regarding giving in to the pressure, however, us fathers don't like giving in, or being shown up, especially us males!!! You may wish to dis me for my negative (and so may others here), but my best climbing mate is a paramedic in the (NSW, Australian) Rescue service and he has to attend accidents following decisions like this every day. Those off camber traverses and greasy steel steps with out lugs on the ends could easily have allowed a boot to slid off their ends resulting in goodness knows what. You were all young and have the benefit of being flexible and more athletic, your father, not so. You could have easily come back the next day and do it when conditions were better. OK, so he made it. That doesn't make you decision right.
Going through a red light in you car and getting away with it, does not mean you still won't get hit next time you try it. You were lucky this time.

60 isn't old. I'm 66 and I'd totally do that hike. I've been to Maine three times in my life, once 54 years ago when they were still floating logs on the river. We came across the bay to the beginning of US-1 I think and then all the way down to Boston. 6 of us in a 1965 Pontiac Bonneville. The next time when I was on vacation with my parents at about 16 or 17 years old. The last time was about 11 years ago on my bike. We just barely got into Maine because we got delayed by some trouble with my traveling companion's bike and a girl friend who had not toughened up her behind for that long of a trip. I will go back some day soon to see the sights and go fishing. Keep the good stuff coming guys.
