- We are about to set sail on our longest sail yet and with hurricane season quickly approaching and nasty low-pressure systems still making their way to the tropics we have to pick our departure day very carefully. I'm scared, but I know we have the experience and are fully capable of this passage. We just hope mother nature takes it easy on us and our boat!

It's obvious how you would carefully plan in order to undertake the lengthy journey you guy's undertook.
Nothing could be left to chance, everything needed to be cross checked, including fuel, rigging, radios etc. Very similar to aviation.
Usually it's not one thing that gets you into trouble it's a multitude of things that you didn't plan for. Obviously you guys are on top of everything!
I have an appreciation for your "readiness" and clear and concise planning prior to your journey.

Safe journey kiddies ;) I gotta tell ya, watching you yachties cook makes me really hungry! I think it would be great fun if you all posted short cooking videos and perhaps had cook off competitions between the different crews when you meet up at common locations. Groceries are cheaper on St Thomas vs St John. Sometimes well take our rental Jeep on the car ferry to St Thomas just to save a few hundred $. There's a very good shop in Red Hook called Moe's. Not as cheap as some others in Charlotte Amalie, but closer to St John.

Good morning Billy, Sierra and Jetty. We have been living on our new to us boat just over a week and realized we are in same marina as Adrenaline! If y'all are in the area stop by C13 and say hi- we leave Thursday morning for our new home in Ft Myers but would love to meet y'all especially Jetty!

I don't remember there even being a grocery store on St. John back in 1979? Granted I was 14 or 15 years old and it has been a few years. But when we camped there we had to take a ferry over to go do some grocery shopping. Back then St. Thomas had rolling blackouts and so we had to shop in a pitch dark grocery store with only a flash light and not knowing the layout of the store. I hope that has changed!

Sweet I used to live in North Palm when I was in Elementary, we had a waterfront property and I had an aluminum boat with a 5hp engine that I used to take out to Little Munyon all the time. My dad had a 50 foot mono hall sail boat that he had dried docked at Seminoles for some time.

Grew up on St John in the 70`s, even back then we never shopped on St John always went to St Thomas. This was before Costco like Co. were around, so we opened a wholesale account with the food distributors ( the same Co. that supplied all the fancy restaurants) and did 80-90% of are food shopping there.

pretty standard for most sailing channels - some are up to a year behind - often because the WIFIs are not so good in those areas.
maybe Starlink fixes that all?
S/V Delos got an upgrade, though they were sparse on the specifics of the tech (though Captain Brayyyyon is pretty geeky).
Caysal bank is great diving to bad you cannot stop .In the 70s it was dangerous to the point that dive shops would not go there .Cuban pirates got the blame.

Make sure you are tethered and have a life jacket on during watch. Make it a requirement even if the weather is nice. Stay safe, and enjoy...
You failed to mention the Bahamas are the same territorial sea as the United States at 12nm and the US has a contiguous zone of 24 nm. So therefore as long as you are outside of the Bahamas by 12nm and inside the CZ of the US you will be just fine and dandy

have you ever considered an Instant-pot on board? You can do a lot with it and its pretty compact. less water use.

Dianne Dang we're just a couple weeks from September. They said it was a 10 day/ 2 week trip. Jettys been poopin in Florida for a couple months now, Adrenaline may be sold. That's what I don't like about these type of channels, lag time, not current. I understand the logistics involved editing but still, things aren't as they seem sometimes.

Yeah! When they were walking back to the dinghy with the groceries, I didn't see him in a single frame until they were back on the dinghy. I thought they had left him at the store! Now I know this episode was not necessarily about them, but it was nice and exciting catching the glimpses to see just how cohesive the liveaboard TH-cam Community is.
