Wow her hair looks amazing 👏 😍 my blonde hair is overtoned right now and I was searching for a solution and found you... so thank you for posting this video on how to lift it! xx
I don’t understand why anyone would give you any thumbs down for your videos! I think it’s pretty gracious of those of you who share your techniques AND your formulas! So if I could give you 10 of these 👉🏼 👍🏻, then I totally would! Thank you for sharing and for those of you giving thumbs down...totally rude! This really helps stylists learn and tweak their own technique! I really appreciate it!! 💕
Thank you so much. I’m in school currently and overtoned a client and I was asking around how to fix this while she was still there and the only advice my instructor gave was for her to come back when it’s faded out. I honestly didn’t care about the cost of the service or saving her money. I just needed to know what to do in these situations and you just showed me. Thank you. I know there are situations where it’s not possible but this is all I asked for. Again thank you!
I am always so scared to do a bleach wash or soap cap... I think after watching you do it I might feel a little more confident. It turned out beautiful!
My hair is overtoned right now! Got 2 shades darker and like a green hue. How do you do the bleach wash? What’s in it? Thank you! Love your videos, you are so talented!
Hi! Will the reverse over tone correction work on hair that was over toned a week ago? I did my moms hair about a week ago and it was over toned to were it looked ash. It's never happened before all same products and everything.
Just overtones my client (male. Shorter hair) and I was so nervous to do a bleach cap. Was afraid the tone would wash out and leave it yellow. I’m new to color and learning as I go
My girl put toner over my blonde highlights to get my hair darker.. I hate it lol I want it lighter again. It's like 3 different colors..does toner really wash out ? & how long should I wait before going back in after toner??
You are the best obsessed sooo beautiful!!Can I pls ask one question? After you apply the root toner,do you wait little while before you apply the overall toner or do it straight after?
You should do it straight after unless if it's a darker root or a permanent root (for grey coverage) then sometimes maybe wash off the root colour then apply the mid-ends toner.
The girl who did my hair overtoned it and i feel like my hair looks darker then it was before .she dif it yesterday ... can i use the 20 volume and shampoo technique
Hey Lexi, about 6 months ago I bleached my hair (BIG MISTAKE) and then two months later I had gone to a salon to try and match my overall color back to my roots. Right now, the color is faded and my roots have grown out about 2 inches. I have been researching about different ways to blend the roots out in a way where they can grow without a huge line of demarcation. I know of the shadow root technique, which could be an option to blend out my roots, however I don't know the long term effects of that color. I really would prefer to not have to regularly visit a colorist for a touchup. I don't know how much upkeep that would be. I want some sort of color on my head in which I can easily continue growing out my "virgin" hair, but without the harsh line dividing the two colors. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can seamlessly grow out my original color again?
Celia Esbensen Hey, I was just browsing through the comments and saw yours. May I suggest dying your hair color the same color as your roots/natural color. That way as your growing out your hair you won't have to worry about a constant line of demarcation or an obvious root. I've done this in the past, and it's always worked when I just want to grow out my natural hair color.
Celia Esbensen you can try blending it with a few highlights at the roots(not fully a shadow root but similar to one) and waiting about 4-6 months between getting them done to let your natural hair grow out a bit, after a few times of dung this it’ll end up looking like a balayage and you won’t have to do it as often over time
Jessica Walker Hello and thank you for responding! I actually did try the method of trying to match my roots to another color and got it closer to the original base. But, after about two weeks the color faded to an orange-red color. This was about three months ago. I currently am trying to grow out my roots more. I have about two inches of regrowth. At this point I think I am going to try and grow it out a couple more inches and then go to a colorist to blend the base out into sort of an ombré/highlighted look. Hopefully then I can grow it out more seamlessly and in a year or so have my virgin hair color back.
Definitely shadow root with a demi permanent color! I do these often and they work great for what you're wanting. Get a demi color that is as close as possible to your natural level/color. While wet, paint on where line of demarcation is (as if doing a root retouch but painting further down to cover line) Wait a couple of minutes, then comb down to make a seamless blend. In your case, i'd leave it on for maybe 10-15 minutes.
I had blonde highlights & low lights done along with dark brown roots to cover gray. When rinsing the dark dye ran over my highlights which now look muddy. Can I use this method to correct?
I think using purple shampoo or a treatment should help with that , I have a shadow root since my roots are naturally dark brown and I use a purple treatment to help with that
Why did you tease the weaves and also was it a shadow root? The level of root toner was darker than ends or do you typically use 2 diffrent toners? It look absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!
holly lawrence I’m assuming she probably teased the root to create a more diffused highlighted look. I feel like doing a root shade over baby lights (super pretty and all) is higher maintenance. Because eventually the root toner fades out slightly and you can kinda see the line of demarcation
❔❓Do you have an alternative for the shades eq? Because they don't sell it in Germany 😕. Sometimes I get them over the internet, but its always very expansive and demanding. Nevertheless: Thank you so much for sharing 😊😊 I love this kind of videos, it's super inspiring! Great work! ❤️

On the salon website it said she was an expert on blonde and had been doing hair for 15 years. Can someone please explain to me how she's even allowed to do hair??!

@@carolmullins5037 if it's yellow and orange it needs a toner (sorry the comment didn't make sense for a second). If it's grayish/blue/green, you can mix lemon juice with conditioner and try that, or use a clarifying shampoo or head and shoulders and wash it out quicker. Either way your toner will wash out on its own, you're not stuck with it. Love, a girl who experiments too much with her hair 😂😂😂
How much do you charge for this kind of service if you dont mind me asking? I'm a cosmetologist in a small town in Texas, and I feel like I under charge when I do these?
Wondered why you put 8 on there! Rubbing the hair follicles in the opposite direction of the growth that way with toner on , then doing it with the bleach....yikes. Very pretty result though
Can you use the Crystal Clear toner mixed in to lighten the level of the 8 while still keeping the tone you were hoping to get? Im still learning, but I just watched a video on the Shades EQ toners. It said adding Crystal Clear to the toning mixture can make the toner a little lighter. Wondering if that is true..
Omg. Girl ur so talented but bleaching over toned ends is dumb. Effective but unnecessary and damaging. Put some cleansing shampoo on ends 5 mins or dish soap Not bleach.
Lexi Dawn I'm just suggesting a successful less damaging approach for u. U simply apply a cleaser shampoo 5 mins to over toned ends and condition. Bleaching will make hair more porous hence why they piked up too much tone to begin with.. Also apply toner to areas that need it most then to ends once desired tone is achieved in warmest area.. . I had a bride once come to me where a salon let her walk out blue. I had it fixed in 3 minutes. With a cleansing shampoo. Bagged. Then did a treatment.
Sorry i teied the dish soap for over toned hair dawn lemon u name it it dont work this well at all. Idk why but nobody can do blonde no more shouldnt have to use a toner to begin with if u know what your doing. But this works better than everything else because i have been there

When you do a bleach bath how do you mix it? Is it powder with shampoo or do you put developer in too?
I am always so scared to do a bleach wash or soap cap... I think after watching you do it I might feel a little more confident. It turned out beautiful!
Did you mix 1:1 of the 20 powder lightener and any shampoo or what was the ratio? Anyone know?
My hair always pulls ashy so I am definitely going to try the bleach wash next time! Thanks for the tip

Yes it should
You’re my absolute fave!! Love your vids & you’re an amazing artist! ❣️
Her hair came out nice ❤️
why is it necessary to keep rubbing the hair when the coty's bleach/shampoo is on it? isn't the bleach itself sufficient to lighten the color?

What brush are you using for the blow dry part?
What do I do if I have a demi permanent shadow root that went too dark? :(
I would really let it fade as much as possible then maybe highlight through it

You do such awesome work. If you don’t mind me asking, how did you start out in owning your business?
I think rubbing the ends onto the roots at 8:23 was the issue.

why does she look so angry
How about you dont rub the roots into the ends like you did ...
I believe it became over toned because you did a mash up of too many different tones
