Erendira Penaloza thanks so much! I was on maternity leave and decided to do this at home in the kitchen, I just can't get away from hair, I love hair! I'll be posting a new video soon too :)
Well you do a fabulous job. Question for you. So, does the hair where you use 40v and 30v gets more porous than the hair where you use the 20v developer?
Erendira Penaloza nope! It's not, everything was pretty much timed, I started off with 20vol, 30vol then 40vol, so everything caught up perfectly, also used olaplex

What a beautiful work of art! Thank you for helping me in my journey and you did an AMAZING Job! I've found so far that those sitting in my chair do not realize, this isn't just crafted in 20 to 30 minutes. It's a timely task and a peaceful feeling when I have Clients who understand this and sit patiently without griping & asking "How much longer".
This is by far THE BEST and the most detailed hair tutorial I've EVER seen! Incredible work! Your precision, attention to detail and the sheer perfectionism in terms of technique is just amazing!
ALL the time! But he digresses a little too much for my liking. And never fully shows the process as detailed as she has done. This is straight to the point, informative, and excellent workmanship. As a tutorial should be. Guy Tang is a bit more 'let me show you a sneak peek of what I worked on this weekend while I was having a ball of a time with my friends". His work is good. Like really good. But I wouldn't really call it a tutorial.
Merryn John I mainly watch for the colours he does, I’m starting to go grey & I’ve gotten tired of covering it up, so I thought maybe a metallic silver/grey or the silver lavender. Now the only question is do I want to try it at home or go to a salon. I really love this colour though
This colour is just stunning! I'm a natural Level 1 (no joke, cool blue/violet jet black hair with zero warmth) hair and this is my dream! I'm having fun with a lot of demi vivids in the cooler spectrum (deep true purples and violets) so that it fades to silver because I know my hair will be fried if I try to do this in one go. This would be great on hair that is already silver with a hint of shadow roots for dimension.
Hi! I love this technique and I would love to try it. I just started cosmetology school and I was looking at your description of products used and I'm hoping youd be able to explain when you used the lanza translucent and the lanza demi? Also when did you apply the olaplex?
Amazing! Wish I could do this on my own hair. My hair dresser was charging me an arm and leg to redo my ombré and add baby lights. So she redid my ombré only starting where the blonde was so now I have 2 years of black regrow hair

I love this video I have watched a lot of times over the years. It is the only one I can find that shows exactly how to do the foiling and color formulations.😍😍😍😍😍
I swear I've watched this video 6 times this week trying to figure out how to do this by myself. (LOL.😆 Riiiight.) Wish you were in my area. By far the best silver balayage video on TH-cam! Awesome work.👍🏼
I tried (SO HARD), but it's not as easy as she makes it look. I could probably do it on someone else, but on myself it wasn't easy at all. I got close, but hers looks so much more ideal. Mine looks more like highlights rather than a balayage. (Sorry I'm replying so late, I didn't get the notification. Came back to study it again and saw your reply.) She's bomb. 💣
Wooooowwww! I’m speechless, it was a stunning result, thanks for sharing the technique. I’ll put it in practice. One of the best tutorials I’ve ever seen, well explained. Just one question. What toner did you use?

I really liked it thay you didnt crop your video when showing the babylights proces, in other video's people always crop it but it makes me wonder like what am i missing? I wanna be sure I do it exactly like yours so I appreciate you just speeding the video instead😊
I felt like you were applying bleach up to the root in all the foils, but after processing her hair did not have much lightness going up to the root. It was still so dark. How is this? Beautiful end results!
No! Still, that doesn’t account for the darkness. This person is right! You lightened her up to the roots, creating a black canvas, added a level 8 toner and melted it into a level 9! You even used 40 developer, which I get, though I’d never do it, but her color is a level 2 at the roots melted into a level 9 ash
I wish you explained the why behind your choices because some of them seem to be a bit different and without understanding the why behind it, difficult to replicate.
Simply the best hair coloring tutorial video out there, plus the most stunning colors!!! Thank you for all the details, as a non-stylist, I learned some great application methods, the diagnols was my big takeaway!!! 👏👏👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🏆🏆🏆🏆✨✨✨✨✨
Excellent! Thank you for the detailed tutorial, and the result was AWESOME! But there are still a few things that are unclear to me since I am not a professional. Firstly why did you use volume 40 developer for the top? And Secondly what did you stripe out the old dye with? Thanks again.
You are absolutely adorable pregnant! Congratulations by the way!! I am a professional hair artist as well and your work on her is gorgeous! I actually am wanting this look for my hair ! Beautiful!!! Have a great day 🌞!!
I am looking ur video for the first time honestly I was not believing the tutorial because last time I coloured my hair into grey from black hair.Because I have natural black hair so the colour didn't stay grey it is still black so I think I will order the product u mention now.Hope it works on my natural black hair ❤️from Canada Can you mention please what u put on her hair at last???????????? What kind of shampoo is that?????
Depends on what manufacturer, just pick a toner/demi-perm. Some manufacturers have a variety of hair swatch ring or a book that demonstrates the color examples. If you reach to a level 9 any color is possible !
Great job. My style for sure. What did you use on the roots? It sounded like you said a level 8 but she had such dark hair i was not sure if I heard that right. Fantastic job
Her hair turned out gorgeous. I do have a couple questions though. Did she rinse the top portion bleach off before you applied the bleach wash, or did she just rinse it all out at the same time? Also what ratio with the 8A and 8P mixed at on the top? What brand and volume developer did you use for the Demi, and also was the translucent applied to both mixes, and applied to all her hair? Thanks for an awesome video.
There's a developer for Demi colors with any Hair Color brand out there. She used Lanza Demi...Most likely she used Lanza Demi 8A + 8P plus Demi developer for the roots and probably equal parts. And at the end, she probably used Lanza Demi 9P+ Demi developer for the ends....Hope that helps!
I payed 200 dollars at a salon asking for this hairstyle and they just messed me up and left me patches :( u did such a good job u need to show us how u mixed the top potion for blending
I'll be following this tutorial at home and really need to know about the 1 to 3 ratio and why you chose that instead of 1 to 2 or 1 to 1. I've never seen 1 to 3 used before. I also have dark brown nearly black hair.
It literally takes me forever to foil I also do tiny sections and use about 95 foils per head and it drives me mad that I can't bring my timing down 😟 how long does it take you to foil? Xx
Loved this look. Its the best way to hl asian hair for a Balayage look if you ask me. Did it on my sister and she loved the outcome. Best way I found so far to cover a lot of density and more even lift.
CAN U DO MY HAIR?? :'(( I've been to two salon in two different countries and they all made a disaster in my hair.... and now the other salon said they didn't know if they can do it..... OMG... I wanna cry.....
Beautiful I love it and this is a really easy video to understand. I think this is the best video I’ve seen. Other videos they don’t reveal the formula they use, but you did thank you so much!
Great video! Thank you for being so thorough. It looks amazing! I'm a brunette with a bad blonde weave on top of a better weave that's growing out. My hair is a mess! It was the first time I went blonde. I used to always rock black or red hair. I'm not sure what to do with my hair now. The lady that did the weave on my roots to "blend in" with the previous weave did a horrible job, charged me a fortune and kind of ruined my hair. I swear by Schwarzkopf products! They have the best shampoo and conditioner products for color damaged/bleached hair. I'm not even using ones specifically for "color treated" hair, that's how good the products are. Anyway, great work! The finished product looks amazing!! Congrats on your baby by the way. 🌹
Fantastic tutorial. Very precise and informative. You did a beautiful job with her hair. Finished look was gorgeous and your foiling technique is awesome. Cute belly too. Best wishes to you, baby & family. Keep posting. Love your work. Thx so much for sharing your talent.
You can see how beautiful and well taken care of the model manages her hair. She has beautiful hair. Girlfriend is wracking up the foils. Yes, baby hair is so crucial. Shaving then makes you look too hard too. Th for sharing!
What toner did u used on the roots and what brand of the toner and the the end of the hair what toner did u apply it’s to deference color . Last question did you apply the toner while the hair is wet . Thank u if u can answer me I really appreciate. It’s amazing
If ur hairs already blonde maybe don’t use the same ratio of developer use less like a 1/1 ratio or 2/1 not 3/1 because you don’t need as much lift. I’m no expert tho
Its Yo Gab i used to think that too but the thicker the bleach it the more powerful it is bc bleach is stronger than peroxide so the more developer you add the less strong the lightener is
The vol means how much peroxide is in the developer. Bit if there isn't enough of either the lightener or the developer it won't lift well. Stylists have preferences in texture and it varies for the technique
The color is simply BREATHTAKING. Oh how I'd love to have it done on my hair, BUT I'm so scared the bleach will damage my hair. Any advice on how to avoid damage on bleached hair? I'd REALLY appreciate it.
Perfect. Can you clarify where and when do you use olaplex? Can you also clarify when you apply to the roots 8a and 8p what kind of developer or Lanza translucent or Demi and how much (proportions you are using? Last but not least are you using bleach to the ends for maybe 4 5 minutes to get rid of old colour and to lighten it up? Some things were not very clear!!! Congrats though awesome work!!
Her hair is beautiful. How do I do this to a head of hair that’s originally blond but she likes dark hair lol and now something like this. I liked 2 months finishing cosmetology I ferget how many hrs I had think something like 700 and went to dog/cat grooming school never looked back lol I love animals and I groomed for years then had to quit miss going to work cause it wasn’t work to me. Loved how your doing her hair. Thank you
so beautiful been trying to get this color for the longest time so this will help me when i go to show my stylist what i am looking for hopefully she an pull if off just as well as you did
Good luck! I have dark hair not even as dark as this clients and I keep getting turned away for this style because I don't have virgin hair. So bummed I haven't colored my hair in 4.5 years it's the healthiest it's been since I was a baby lol. I'll keep dreaming someday I'll find someone willing. Great video great technique great job! Thank you!
How does it come out soo light Soo neutral no yellow tones in it with just one time? I have bleached my hair Soo many times and is still in yellow face and t18 bleach doesn't work on my hair
Omg ty soooo much for this video. My hair looks like crap. It's already a little lighter than your client at the bottom and just as dark at the top. But I was trying to figure out how to do a melt properly and blend in the toner to fix it myself. Also lighten it more at the bottom to get a cooler tone. Ty so much for your video.

crackerjack4u ,I have the same questions as you,don want to mess with my hair or someones hair..
Same her.. what is exactly on the roots and what on the highlights
i'm also curious
There's a developer for Demi colors with any Hair Color brand out there. She used Lanza Demi...Most likely she used Lanza Demi 8A + 8P plus Demi developer for the roots and probably equal parts. And at the end, she probably used Lanza Demi 9P+ Demi developer for the ends....Hope that helps!
@@rizahbella369 that root color is not a lanza color ,lanza pigment is weak. 8a+8p will not cover the root,
omg, you are the best hairdresser i ever seen !! your work style is so clean and perfection !! i am your fan now !! :* :*
girlllll. i was watching in my house alone, (at around 19:36 ish?) and when i heard that “Hey!” i panicked 🤣🤣
Devin's Designs I read this comment right before it happened and I’m sitting in my house alone😂
Lol
the color she had before this video was so cute 😭 that's what i'm trying to achieve! also thank you, your video was very instructive :)
I payed 200 dollars at a salon asking for this hairstyle and they just messed me up and left me patches :( u did such a good job u need to show us how u mixed the top potion for blending
Only 200? That’s cheap
OMG... I wanna cry.....
nice work! you're a hard worker and it shows in your beautiful results. Thanks for sharing!
I'm really thinking about this color this summer! "2019"
Beautiful I love it and this is a really easy video to understand. I think this is the best video I’ve seen. Other videos they don’t reveal the formula they use, but you did thank you so much!
Wow im going to try this technique this weekend! Thanks for sharing!
Song Vang no prob! Tag me on instagram! I'd like to see :)

holy crap youre amazing, i wish you could do my hair
That baby bump! I’m watching this preg and needing my hair done soooo bad!!
Just gorgeous! I wonder what it looks like after 2 weeks/2 months/2years.
You do great work. Wish you were here. Be-U-T-FULLLLL !!!
Very beautiful i love it! I’m sorry but what toners did you use and the brand ??
Fantastic tutorial. Very precise and informative. You did a beautiful job with her hair. Finished look was gorgeous and your foiling technique is awesome. Cute belly too. Best wishes to you, baby & family. Keep posting. Love your work. Thx so much for sharing your talent.
Kim Kay hi! I'm glad you enjoyed my video. Thanks so much for watching, there will be a new video coming soon!
You can see how beautiful and well taken care of the model manages her hair. She has beautiful hair. Girlfriend is wracking up the foils. Yes, baby hair is so crucial. Shaving then makes you look too hard too. Th for sharing!
Awww look at that baby bump 😍😍
What toner did u used on the roots and what brand of the toner and the the end of the hair what toner did u apply it’s to deference color . Last question did you apply the toner while the hair is wet . Thank u if u can answer me I really appreciate. It’s amazing
I'm getting this color on my bday ❤
Awesome final result. ❤
Super awesome tutorial! One Question tho, would this same thing work for blond hair? I don't know if it would be different or not
If ur hairs already blonde maybe don’t use the same ratio of developer use less like a 1/1 ratio or 2/1 not 3/1 because you don’t need as much lift.

Hi your very talented , loved watching this so easy to follow descriptions .. Did u use a darker colour on the root -smudge please 😃👍🏼xx
can you tell me in End what she but that's shampo or other treatment
The color is simply BREATHTAKING. Oh how I'd love to have it done on my hair, BUT I'm so scared the bleach will damage my hair. Any advice on how to avoid damage on bleached hair? I'd REALLY appreciate it.
Get it done by a stylist in a salon and dint do it at home.
Make sure the salon uses olaplex or a bonder when lightening it.
Omg, thats so beautyful. You are very skilled!
so you use the Lanza translucent and Demi to mix 8a and 9p? How much of this to mix?
Omg my fav colour, seems impossible to do it by myself 😂
u c oh yeah! Definitely need to go to a salon for this type of service!
Thank you
so beautiful been trying to get this color for the longest time so this will help me when i go to show my stylist what i am looking for hopefully she an pull if off just as well as you did
IAmBeauty awesome! I hope whoever does your hair perfects it!
Thank you!
Cheyenne Jackson right girl me too
Cheyenne Jackson it is annoying..
Beautiful!, How long is this process?
No one has that amount of patience with my hair :(
Same I have so much hair I feel bad for anyone dealing with it ):
Been watching a bunch of these videos and I’m happy I finally came across one that explains every step!
How does it come out soo light Soo neutral no yellow tones in it with just one time? I have bleached my hair Soo many times and is still in yellow face and t18 bleach doesn't work on my hair
You’re so talented, I'm just wondering what her natural level color, and what volume did you mix the demi with 5 or 10?
thank you for taking the time to make this video, I learned something new. Hope you can make more. =)
6dennise thanks! I'm in the process of posting another one soon! Thanks for watching my video :)
Love it!! The color turn out amazing!!! What is the formulation for the bleach wash??
Omg I wish you could do my hair everyone I've talked to says there's no way to get me silver without killing my hair
Same I was planning to dye my hair but my mother would kill me
Omg ty soooo much for this video. My hair looks like crap. It's already a little lighter than your client at the bottom and just as dark at the top. But I was trying to figure out how to do a melt properly and blend in the toner to fix it myself. Also lighten it more at the bottom to get a cooler tone. Ty so much for your video.
