So I'm a natural blonde and I have some highlights at the moment(golden), I really want to go darker, what will you suggest? I was thinking about light brown low lights but I want more ooemf😂❤
How long does it take to bleach?
My hair is fully blonde now but my roots are a dark rich brown. I’d like to ask my hairstylist to do something like this for me to break up the blonde. And also so I don’t have to come into the salon as much. Should I ask for the lowlights to match my root dark brown color?
Yes! It will be so much less maintenance for you to add dimension (lowlights) back in there. Definitely say can you match my natural brown? 😊
Can you give me the dye numbers after bleaching?
Why do you use shades EQ? Is it just cause she doesn’t want it for long? I have a client I’m going to do and I don’t know if I should use sades or gels? Don’t shades washout fast?
Usually shades washes out fast because stylist tend to not leave it on long enough.
For a low light shades is perfect because it will give a good color & coverage but not be as thick & opaque as a cream color so it will blend into the blonde better.

I keep coming back to this video😂 I feel really good about toning! I am struggling with lowlight formulations especially for blondes! I feel like I add enough warmth but they look muddy. I used 3G + 4NW SEQ as a root melt & lowlight the other day and it looked green? I applied it on a level 8/9 so maybe it was just too dark for that starting canvas?
Definitely too dark for the starting canvas. Try adding 6AA or something from the C series to your formula next time :)
Definitely needed a fill but we can’t do that with lowlights so adding a heavy warms as stated above helps with an even rich depth.
I don't really get why all the hairdressers now use solely Shades eq for lowlights, when it washes out so quickly... Are your clients not annoyed to have to get this done every couple of weeks?
It’s less damaging. Blondes change their minds, and it’s better for the hair than lifting through permanent color. If her clients complain on how they get their hair then I’m sure she would use a permanent.
@@awhite3677 I wasn't talking about permanent colours as those should never be used solely for toning, but there are plenty of toning colours which last far better than shades eq, that's why I asked.

@@nastasiaaaaaaaaaa permanent colour wouldn't be a toner, so I'm not talking about permanent options. But I mean out of all toners, shades eq don't last at all- i don't understand the hype for it.

I charge the same as a highlight service. I'm using the same amount of product and time.

Why do you use 10 vol if it will give you root lift? Is that what you want? :)
10 vol doesn't lift. Only 20 or more lifts. 10 vol just deposits color. The only time 10 vol lifts is when mixed with lightener & even then just a 10 will lift very slowly.
10 vol lifts my roots just enough to make them orange. Every single time. My hair is probably a level 5-6 😢
