    Medfords do take more to break in but once they do. Oh man it’s one of the best for sire

      It helps a ton if you relive some of the lock bar pressure. They come to tight.

    Just got mine. Natural titanium stonewash handles, stonewashed blade. If ever a knife could be sexy and literally radiate an aura of perfection, this one is and does! At first I did not like it. Hard to open with the thumb, flipper tab kind of difficult. Just two days of working with it and it flips and opens by the thumb with ease. I am certain this knife is nothing short of a masterpiece. Yes, it is large and heavy duty. This is not a 'gentleman's' carry. This knife is the last knife anyone would ever need for just about any circumstance. For opening boxes, letters, cutting rope, slicing fruit or food, sure I love my Spyderco Para 2 and the Military. However, if I ever found myself in a situation where I needed to protect myself with a true weapon, break a windshield open to save myself or somebody else, or pry something open in an emergency, this knife, and many of the other overbuilt Medford knives cannot be beat.

    My thumb was trashed after my first week of constant determination to break in then USMC FF. The finishing touch to break that beast in was using a soft plastic object [old school golf cart key tag] to stretch the lock bar out over 1 night.IMO the most amazing knife ive ever touched. Im lucky and grateful to own it.

    I have the OnBelay and the Proxima. Out of the two I think I prefer the OnBelay, has great action and fits my hand perfect. Where does the marauder fit in terms of form and function between these two models?… Thanks

    Medford Proxima is THE Medford. All around, best knife.

      I ordered my first Medford a week ago. A proxima, as my gift for 23 years working at my job.

    My fighter flipper had the same problem with the Lockhart bar. I think this is unacceptable on a $900 knife. It looks like Medford is making some changes on the newest knives that have a added part to prevent that from happening. I ended up sending mine back to the factory

    You must love the s35vn blades how long dose it take before you have to sharpen or do you send back for sharpening

    • @everydaybladesinc
      @everydaybladesinc  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The edge retention is really good on S35VN. I rotate out knives a lot so I can probably go a year without sharpening easily.

    Hello

      You can use a #12 spanner bit or a set of spanner pliers.

      I have a 187dp with the same pivot and I use a cheap lock pickin set that had a double ended tweezers with 90• bend on each end
      I think its something for automotive picks it works perfectly

    Have you disassembled any of your Medfords?

    • @johnj.baranski6553
      @johnj.baranski6553 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Disassembly is totally permitted now.

      @@johnj.baranski6553 I've heard that Greg no longer voids warranty unless someone damages intentionally. I disassembled my Praetorian and found it running on 6 washers - three per side, exactly same size. This is done for tolerances. Another knife collector told me his Proxima runs on four. Was wondering about these ones...

      @@johnj.baranski6553 Just wondering since I've maintained and repaired few knives and never seen this, I was intrigued whether it adds any smoothness to action. Sometimes you do see a washer or two between the base of bearings and the blade (bearings in between) and the action is just a heaven. So I am interested what does this really do? Does it improve action? Performance? Etc? Greg Medford knows how to build crazy awesome knives. Love 'em all.

    I have the same hotspot on my fighter flipper. I would think they could change that, as it is rather sharp. I like the knife though. Can't wait to see the Marauder H.

    Hello, I have a Praetorian T that is just a touch tight on the pivot. What do you use for the six gun screw to loosen?

      Sorry I just saw this. You can use a #12 spanner bit or a set of spanner pliers.
