Great video but those coins weren’t real gold right? They were made to look like gold. So had to be another non ferrous metal so for demonstration it worked. For others asking questions yes it will not pick up gold or silver. But where there is gold and silver there is likely other metals thst will trigger the magnetometer. They use magnetometers to find ocean treasure almost exclusively. Because it can get a reading from a farther distance than a metal detector that signals both non ferrous and ferrous metals. Or simply gold and silver as well as iron etc…. A metal detector even a cheap one for $100 bucks would be better than this phone based option but that doesn’t mean this isn’t great for those that don’t have the budget. This will work.
iPhone XS the sensor is on the left edge, just above level of “iPhone” written on the back. You can test yourself by taking a small metal object and slowly passing it over the back of your phone to find the position which registers the strongest signal.
