    Whenever I take photos of my very young kids, I always use the burst option. Then in the Photos app I can easily select the photo within the burst where they’re both looking, or smiling, or there’s no blur. Then I can discard the other photos and I almost always get a good photo from my kids.
    The iPhone also makes suggestions on what they think the best photos of the burst are. They’re usually pretty spot on, too.

      Nice tip. Worth saying that the burst mode can be activated by holding on the take photo button for those who aren’t aware and want to try burst.

      @@simonknight2973 that actually changed with iOS 15. If you just hold down the photo button it takes video now. You have to hold down the photo button and quickly slide your finger to the left to take a burst. It was an awful change.

      @Netscorer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      You could also instead just shoot a Live Photo and quickly find the frame that is best looking. No need to overpopulate album with burst of almost identical photos.

      I’ve never known how to use the photo burst once they’re taken. I go into my photos and it’ll say 10 photos but how do you actually see all 10 to scroll through like you say? I tried clicking on the words for burst. I try holding the photo I can’t seem to get the set of photos to come up?

    TIP: When selecting multiple photos, you can drag your finger across each row to select all the photos you drag your finger across. If you continue dragging but now downward, it will select the next row and so forth. Drag in the reverse directions to deselect. Try it out!

    I have an acquired brain injury so I use my iPhone to capture images of my day to day, so that I can aid my short term memory issues. It’s been an absolutely essential tool for me to use so that I can find my car or have visual cues to access my memories. I love the memory videos my iPhone can collate for me, I honestly don’t know what I would do without my iPhone camera, and the simple things the Photo App can perform is perfect for me.

    If you compare it to the photo album app in Android, the one in Iphone are miles behind. If you want to create an specific album, and copy the photos to that album from another one, then delete the photos from that other album, all photos will be deleted, in both album's. Glaring omission is that iphone photo albums can't be shared outside the iphone ecosystem, ie; your android friends don't have icloud accounts or access to icloud albums or multiple pics/vids.
    Best way to share is with Google Photos, better search and photo organization plus original quality pics and vids can be shared across multiple platforms via links

      I’ve just got my firs iPhone, I’ve been on android since the beginning. Some tips are helpful but I still miss a lot of things like moving photos between folders and albums, able to control what folder to sync. For example managing WhatsApp media. It’s way easier in android vs iOS. I used to move the pics I liked to a separate folder in android and also Google Photos to back it up along with photos from camera, and not the entire WhatsApp folder filled with all the junk forwards from tens a of different groups.
      This unfortunately isn’t possible in iOS. There’s no way of choosing what to sync. No way of accessing photos outside photos app. This has become an annoyance. I know people suggest to use iCloud or just suggest alternative ways like copying to a computer etc but I’ve Google subscription with tons backed up content and alternative methods are way too tedious. I think Apple should be bit more lenient on these things.

    When searching photos by media type, it would be really helpful if Apple would add a filter for black-and-white pictures. As a much older person, I have a lot of black and white photos that I have copied of ancestors long gone. I’d love to be able to search that, as I don’t get them all at once, I get them from time to time and so they are in many different days in my library. I have been trying to caption them when I copy them and put a designation of B&W at the end so I can search that way. But a black-and-white filter would be more helpful still.

    I have iTunes on my home computer and everything on my iPhone 12 is backed up to it, all the updates and backups go thru that computer. When I hookup the phone for charging it automatically searches my phone for photos and transfers them to the computer, very simple. But I was wondering if there is an easy way to transfer photos from my computer to the phone.

    I never use photos to be honest. I find google photos to suit me more in the iPhone. But watched this to see if I’m missing something. In apple photos I really want to change 2 things. Change the default sort so that the most recent pic is at the top. Having it at the bottom just irritates me. And I can’t turn off face recognition, so the people folder keeps getting populated even though I don’t want this to happen.

    Nice summary. One cautionary note about shared albums - Apple applies compression to photos and videos in Shared Albums, so the image quality is not as good as content in your regular Albums. For instance, video in a Shared Album is only stored at a resolution of 720p. There are also some limitations on the control you have over Family Sharing.

    • @TonyG579PoppyG579
      @TonyG579PoppyG579 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      On the other hand, capacity of Shared Albums is effectively unlimited so if you’re running out of space it’s a useful lifeboat…

    I just want to know how to export my photos from the iPhone to the Photos app on the Mac (or via any other better app for that matter) while maintaining the integrity of the folders that I created in Photos in my iPhone. It seams a nightmare to keep photos that are in my folders on my iPhone and just being able to delete all the others after a backup to the Mac. Please help! Thanks so much!

    Finally learning how to use my iPhone 😊 question when I made an album I did a little experiment if I delete a photo from my library it also removes it from my album is there a way to move my photos to a album so they are not in my library same as on a computer?

    • @Kluivertnr1
      @Kluivertnr1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I give you an answer on your post, but TH-cam delete it. I don’t know why. It was just a normal reaction.
      So again.
      There is a way.
      1) select some photos in photo app on your iphone which you want use in a folder.
      2) use the share button and scroll down till you find ‘save in File app’ . if it is not in the list, you have to download the app in the app store.
      3) choose where your photos must be saved, on your device or in icloud drive (icloud drive uses the same storage as icloud photos) and then you can create a folder.
      4) go to the File app to the location where you saved the photos. There you can easily make folders, a folder in a folder is also possible.
      5) delete the photos in the photo app and in the bin of the photo app. Now the photos are only in icloud drive or your device. And not in the photo app library.

    Thank you! I found you by needing to know how to 'add' Albums to a Folder. You're right! It is WAY to difficult and time consuming!
    Thanks for teaching me how to do it (although it would have been helpful to actually go through each of the required steps. I DID figure out how to do it once you described how, but it would have been helpful if you actually did each step. Perhaps you can do one on just that (or maybe you already have one that I have not discovered yet).
    May I suggest that an influencer like you could appeal to apple to make it easier for this function: hopefully, they would listen to someone like you (you have more clout than I do!).
    Again, thank you for creating these videos and for you help!

In your photos app click on your albums icon at the bottom of the screen, then tap 'select all', then tap 'Edit' and you can tap and hold an album and drag it in whatever order you want. I have situated all of my albums alphabetically by my album title.😊

    If you are searching, using multiple key words, do you have to use a separator or a plus or an ampersand? I really wish Apple would go back to letting us search via Siri. I have no idea idea why they took that function away.
