    Thank you for the link to the virtual EMDR tool. I've signed up for the 3 days free and have done one session with notable positive results. It is so difficult for me in my area to find a therapist that I can afford. I know that with C-PTSD I should be guided by a qualified therapist. I'm going to use the self-guided service for less traumatic things to help me start to feel lighter and brighter. I've also downloaded that worksheet you mentioned. Without the generosity of all you online therapists, people like me would be doomed to darkness. Bless you!

    This makes a lot of sense. I completed emdr with a therapist and since then have remembered more blocked memories and I get stuck in flashback loops currently so it's a great thing to know about and know I'm normal... lol going to try the movie technique you mention.

    Thank you. I do agree with the "flooding and avoidance". I just started working with a therapist and we're going to do the EDMR together. I'm just doing some research and how I can make my sessions better. Also he told me about the tapping, that I could do at home. I do chakra tones and I believe that that all ties in together. I'm watching a couple of the EMDR videos I noticed that there were
    different hertz tones that go from ear to ear and I find that interesting.

    I began therapy in January of this year and I've just recently learned about this process. I didn't realize that I was holding on to traumatic issues, experiences from different ages in my life.     This is so helpful as someone who is trying to do self-administered EMDR. I have a wonderful therapist, however the practice will not pay for her to become EMDR certified. I can't afford to do much more than I already spend on meds, therapy, and other doctor's visits. I really attribute all my looping, shame and self-hatred ("I'm disgusting", yep, that's how I feel about myself) to the insomnia I've had for 8 years due to very traumatic events in 2013. I do the movie excercise and know I would be heartbroken to hear anyone, let alone a loved one, speak about themselves that way. I'm seeing a sleep specialist next week and hope to get to the bottom of this to finally heal from all this and love myself and forgive myself.

      I went to therapy for help with anxiety due to the extended lockdown. She wanted to do trauma work on something unrelated. She unlocked a childhood event that i had locked away or put in the past. It’s brought it to the forefront and i cant shake the guilt. Flooded on a daily basis. She lacked any real coping skills to help me heal my guilt. I’m reluctant to return to therapy. Now I am left with memories of guilt and shame. I feel traumatized by her version of therapy.

    Was thumbing through you tube. Seen this video. I haven’t commented, or watched a video from you in away. I felt like I needed to say thank you for what you do. I’m doing better. I have been exposing my thoughts to the fears Exposure therapy is work. Was at the chiropractor this morning, the place reminded my Brain of the car accident, I felt faint, and shaky etc. I don’t like those feelings. PTSD is no fun. Your videos were a big comforter. Thank You.

      @@leanlopezduran3124 Hello I’ve been dealing with this for three years. And you have to think about your thinking and realize that your emotions are attached to your thoughts. I have panic attacks while driving. I’m not going to stop driving. They’re just emotions and when you realize that their emotions you now have a choice, to stay, Calm or not. It isn’t easy It’s going to take some work. Chewing mint gum helps. Breathing sometimes helps. Think about thinking… stay calm , tomorrow is a new day. 😁

      Is what you call "avoidance", the 'flight' part within the experience of hypERarousal?
      Is what you call "looping", the 'freeze' part within the experience of hypOarousal?
      Because I see you working with the Window of Tolerance here.
      How do you deal with a numb, depressed, frozen state of hypoarousal?
      Is hypoarousal, a consequence of hyperarousal peaking to a point of overwhelm, at which point we (decide to) 'step' on it?
      How does one move from hypOarousal to a trauma-activated (WoT) state in a controlled way?
      So without snapping right into hypERarousal, as seems to be so common with trauma.
      ... and sometimes even exceeding the available containment. (retraumatization?)

      @@SuspiriaX for me I go to flooding and at a certain saturation avoidance shuts everything down. Like walks in, says okay enough of this bs and literally flicks switches off and I am calm and cool as a cucumber. A spaced out non functional cucumber but cool :)

    Shoot...wish I'd watched this before I did an online self-administered EMDR video. Of all things, I'm a retired therapist who actually has EMDR (I) training so thought I didn't need this one. (Also did one EMDR session...though not very successfully...in person many years ago.) Too big for my own britches, I guess.
    My training was years ago, and I rarely practiced it, so I'd forgotten most of the details...including these snags and how to handle them. Consequently, I got flooded during the video; kept thinking "maybe I should stop and take a break" but made myself continue since I know one can't get past memories without going through them; and, I kept thinking maybe it would get better if I just kept going. (Shouldn't have chosen a 10-min. one, though, I now realize.)
    Basically, I didn't move through it at all; just stayed stuck...and came out feeling re-traumatized. Wondered if I should watch it again but quickly decided I couldn't bear any more and to watch your video instead. Now I have my answer, and I know what to do if/when I try it again, though I'm not sure I want to.
    I also just now realized that the trauma I was processing (which was 5 yrs. ago) is very similar to one from childhood...60-some years ago. Well, duh...no wonder, lol. I just never made the connection till now. Not sure I want to try it again (online probably not the best choice) but if I do, I'll have a better grasp on what to do...especially knowing that it's OKAY TO STOP! Geez...maybe I'd better come out of retirement and repeat my training, lol. Might make my britches shrink to a more appropriate size. ;O) Thanks so much for this video! (Sorry so long.)

    Interesting thoughts. I'm not especially interested in self-administered, but local EMDR therapists are few and far between. My gut reaction is that even with a therapist, this might be better done in an in-person setting.
    As someone with lifelong heritable fight/flight/freeze issues, I recognized the snags immediately. Flooding, in general, I think is more associated for me with AuDHD emotional dysregulation (i.e., big emotions) than fight or flight; the latter can happen, but when it does I am in meltdown. Flooding occurs frequently for me, and can absolutely happen without true fight or flight, though I have judged that my overactive adrenals do come into play. A weak PFC is a more consistent factor, though. Dopamine helps.
    I would agree that avoidance is a freeze behavior, but I'm not sure it presents in me as numbness. More of it is probably a deer in headlights/panic response, which is the physiological freeze seen in animals. (Numbness is perhaps closer to fawn in some ways.) I agree, looping is probably the hardest thing to get past, especially for neurodivergent people, in part because of the way autistic brains process data. The movie technique is the one I grasped immediately, and I think is most practical for my neurology. I like crafting a story with a beginning, middle and end; this is similar to how autistic people process and plan. "It's over now," to me, is an unnecessary and even undesirable addition, in part because for autistic people many things are never over. The resolution I would craft would be a happy fiction, which I think might nonetheless be a good strategy. That is one thing I've debated with regard to EMDR: if I can train my brain not to respond badly to associative triggers that create behavioral loops, that would help immensely. If it's only effective with core issues that are no longer likely to happen, that would be harder to use. Which leads me to the next para:
    After listening to this, I'm undecided if the EMDR you describe is a good fit for me or not. My understanding, from discussions by other neurodivergent people, is that it is largely focused on the bilateral eye movements as a way to allow your CNS to desensitize to cPTSD triggers directly. Your "core beliefs" description gave me pause, because that's basically CBT, which is often poorly suited for people on the spectrum. Can I ask a blunt question? Are core beliefs, and replacing wrong ideas with right ones, a standard part of the original EMDR process, or has the therapy been adapted to incorporate standard therapeutic approaches, on the theory that adding "cognitive distortion" techniques could only make it better? For me and others like me, I'm not sure that's true.

    barbara i just wanted to say thank u so damn much lol i've been frozen for six whole months, i haven't seen a psychologist but i am going to soon cus i can't handle it myself anymore. hearing a person describe my exact situation is kinda cathartic though cus it's jus been me in my own head. i can't think, i can't even move at this point cus my body tenses up with anxiety and whenever conflict arises i get stuck looping which is a new thing to me. i knew where i needed to go even in my thought processes but it is so hard to like. not internalise all of those irrational feelings and completely get out of the idea that you aren't safe in a really not that bad situation at all. it's that i can realise this too but it keeps grabbing ahold of me. but i've been looking into emdr with barely any knowledge - and it's some kind of coincidence that yr simultaneously describing every problem i'm having with my brain right now. i appreciate yr eloquence and deep explaining very awesome contribution to some of us i appreciate u

      This might help you, along with the EMDR. ❤️❤️ Please read this whole thing. Mental health problems, brain fog, depression, and even full blown psychosis can be helped greatly if they get CORRECTLY treated for B 12 deficiency. ( VERY IMPORTANT VIDEO FROM EXPERTS BELOW)
      Almost all doctors are making mistakes in diagnosing and treating this problem.
      They were never trained properly in the details of this nutritional deficiency, and are missing critical information.
      Failure to diagnose this or treat it correctly ( correct protocol is described in the video below ) can result in severe injury to the patient because of ongoing NERVE DEMYELINATION..
      B12 deficiency causes a cascade of *seemingly unrelated symptoms* because it affects the entire body )
      Almost all Doctors and nurses don't understanding how to *correctly* Test for it, they're doing several things incorrectly, testing, parameters, treatment protocol, necessary things that work together.... treating it incorrectly can HURT YOU.
      Besides getting rid of grains ( grain brain / wheat belly / brain fog and inflammation)
      This is so important :
      B 12 deficiency can cause severe depression, miscarriages,
      brain fog , forgetfulness, confusion, difficulty making decisions, progressing to full blown dementia/ Alzheimer's,
      painful neuropathy, pins and needles, feeling electric shocks,
      imbalance, stumbling, falling, worsening fine motor control, dropping things, clumsiness, worsening handwriting, these are all signs,
      progressing all the way to being wheelchair bound or bedridden and unable to walk,
      Incontinence, blurred vision all the way to blindness, and mood swings, depression, crabbiness to anger, mental health disorders, all the way to full blown psychosis.
      Most doctors misdiagnose these symptoms and try to treat them all SEPARATELY, by giving more and more prescriptions for drugs that have a huge list of negative side effects.... while the Methylcobalamine deficiency continues to get worse and worse, and more and more symptoms develop because the NERVES ARE BEING DE-MYELINATED. Healthy nerve signals are needed for *EVERY* organ and function in the body to work.
      If Nerve demyelination progresses , the person can end up wheelchair bound, bedridden and in diapers . Full body collapse, *multiple organ failure and death.*
      It looks like rapid aging or M.S. --
      In fact many people who are in a nursing home, could have their symptoms reversed if treated quickly enough.
      Treating this quickly is important because some symptoms like blindness are irreversible.
      If you know anyone who has any of those symptoms, should listen to this TH-cam video by medical experts and take lots of notes ---
      It's called
      " DIAGNOSING AND TREATING VITAMIN B-12 DEFICIENCY." That title exactly, and take lots of notes, because almost no doctors or nurses are trained properly in this area of nutritional deficiencies, and they don't test it properly and don't treat it correctly at all.
      Many people have a problem with methylation because of a gene,
      And a very high percentage of people have difficulty processing the cheap, synthetic version of B12 ( cyanocobalamin, don't use that because it takes ten complicated conversions in the body, which is VERY difficult and most bodies aren't able to properly convert it into the usable form.
      We need Methylcobalamine specifically *PLUS* other important specific nutrients* described in the video that are needed together with the B12.
      This book is excellent also :

      COCONUT OIL FEEDS THE BRAIN.

    Hi barbara, I did emdr self admined yesterday at night really trying to focus and feel my body sensations, I notice that during this, my body feels anxious then fades then comes back then fades. im trying to feel it to heal it tho.
    But after I did it for Emdr self admined for 15 mins, my body or stomach or just my nervous system. Felt unusually calm and just "still". i just felt at peace. I wake up and gradually start to feel the jittery anxious and nervous with the difficulty of taking a deep breath.
    i tried some vagus nerve excersises but then like 20-30 mins it went away and felt calmer then usual.
    (keep in mind i have been struggling with fight or flight trauma state for 4 years) is it possible that mabye im shifting or something? what do you recommend for me to continue this momentum?

      Your sessions with a therapist didn't work? I ask because I will be starting EMDR soon with a therapist. I'm watching video's like this one to learn everything I need to know because I'm tempted to do a lot of it at home self directed. Weekly sessions with a therapist may take the rest of my life to reprocess all of my traumas.

    During my first experience with self administered EMDR it led me to strange places. Wow.
    First to being 15 years old while I spent two months in a ward for troubled youth, I hadn't attended school in 8 months. It was like the 30 year old me was now watching myself, accessing those times again. While doing the EMDR I felt calm, but could say things like I feel so sad, I feel miserable for seeing my mom worried to tears and wanting to help, and pissed of for seeing my dad being so self-centered and oppressive, smearing all my difficulties I couldn't yet understand to my face, with the "you're no son of mine" attitude. I also realised that his actions are very much connected to his own unprocessed traumas, he has been in prison for killing a man in his alcoholic criminal youth. It has had deep impact on him, his behaviour has also affected me and my brother. I don't blame him, but I hope he would address those problems because they're still affecting him and have affected me as well.
    From there the EMDR continued through my life phases until I found drawing and art. It was strange, I had felt calm during the EMDR, but now I started to feel anxious, while thinking about art!? How it had helped me through difficult times. How I had found my identity and connection with others by sharing what I had drawn, and how they thought it was cool. The anxiety probably has something to do with an artist's block I've had for the past three years, I've drank more during this time, probably to mask my sadness.
    This whole experience left me puzzled in a good way. I'm definitely doing more self-administered EMDR and consider doing it with a professional. Wow.

      How did you feel in your brain? Did you felt extreme tightness in your brain? Were you able to sleep peacefully? Did you felt after emdr if you think or different trauma it directly takes a shit in mind? Are you able to cry peacefully? Did your subconscious mind felt extremely cloudy because of this?

      @@It.is.snehal I felt at peace afterwards, happy and puzzled by the impact it made. It has worked for me without any problems. I recommend to read a book about trauma to understand the topic well. The Body Keeps The Score was a great book. It's misunderstood and THEREFOR stigmatised topic. We people have all sorts of unprocessed matters (severe form is trauma) and fear it's a trauma. Then in attempt to convince ourselves that we are fine, we out of fear stigmatise things we don't fully understand. Alcohol addiction is like that as well. People like to think they're not addicted, when in reality everyone who drinks has some level of addiction. Stigmas only get in the way of understanding things fully.

    For CPTSD freeze types, where their reaction to trauma is one of emotional blunting. I never flood. I only get a few flashbacks, and few of those are strong. Sounds like I'm in avoidance. But I don't feel scared, or even anxious.
    For me the polyvagal model is utter crap. I don't go through hyperarousal to get to freeze. I can go form normal Window of tolerance to light freeze directly, fully aware all the way. i can ease out of it the same way. One possibiliity is that I've spent my life in the lower part of WoT and slightly into hypo-arousal. Another is that I'm just weird. A third is that I am in a position where I can't judge.
    Safe place exercise. Tried a mediation for that from the guy who pushes Ideal Parent Figure Protocol. Guilded meditation for that, I had to stop 5 minutes in. I found the concept of considering a safe place to be dangerous. This Voice was gaslighting me, trying to lure me into a state of complacency. Complacency is death.
    EMDR so far has done nothing for me but get me bored. At this point I do not have a reliable trigger. Memories don't bother me. The holes where memories should be bother me.

    My mind and body has been in fight or flight mode for so long that I started going numb. I think I’ve been doing that loop thing. There is only so much that I can remember or am willing to talk about I guess. I am afraid to go get help from others because I don’t trust them. I show trust but deep inside I don’t trust because of gaslighting and being hyper aware, I think.

    Second question this recent trauma from domestic violence has triggered a lot of past traumas to come up yet I'm not really even processing the domestic violence trauma which was an assault. my life threatened with a knife that was interrupted so the guy left my house. it was all done in my kitchen and living room.
    I just feel like I'm going through some weird stuff .... all the past is coming up all my hurts and traumas are coming up but the trauma of the assault from my intimate partner who I had broken up from, who stalked me and harassed me and threatened me and vandalized a lot of my property, broke into my home, them later assaulted me.... I have not really even begun to process that because all my past traumas have been flooding me for the past year and a half.
    From what I read and see ....this is called complex PTSD?
    I am seeing a counselor which was hard to even get a consistent therapy dates until now.
    They are so booked up and the first two therapists were not effective or tuned into what I was going through they had their own agendas one trying to work on a distorted thoughts which was not the issue.
    you have explained here looping....for me it is past traumas. This is all so complicated to unravel but I appreciate you being here to share it just helps so much to figure all this out.ty

    I really dont know what to do. Im 17 and had a pretty traumatic life. Im supposedly deep in fight or flight so i never feel calm, feels like i cant breathe well. i try to breathe thru diaphram but cant, only thru chest and it feels like dont get enough oxygen.
    I tried EMDR self adminsterd like 30 times. not a single time have I felt emotions, remembered anything traumatic, no crying nothing.
    I've done breathworks like 60 times, and again... no emotions, no memorys and no crying. (although i do feel calmer temporarily but then revert to my trauma body physiology.
    I tried somatic experiencing but still feel unsafe paranoid. ive done a alot of things like guided meditation but they are all "Visualizing" i cant imagine anything its all black no matter how hard i try.
    I feel like a disapointment, spending my teenage years trying to fix my self, everyone having fun at partys and im here alone mentally psyhically fucked up.
    I do vagus nerve exercises, yoga etc. im still stuck in this unsafe state where I feel paranoid cant breathe deeply, doing everything in a rush. this horrible state has affected me a ton, social anxiety, anxiety, anger, frustation. no concentration. Cant even park my fucking car or motorcycle without looking out the store window every minute thats how paranoid i am. also stutter trying to talk becuase lack of oxygen
    Plz respond this took me a while. I so done feeling like this. im been stuck like this since 2017

      I did the Wim Hof Breathwork for 3 rounds and after i felt so good and at peace, then after 30 mins i start reverting back to old ways and getting anxiety, my breathing feeling blocked again and cant inhale good, feel like im not safe.
      This is getting so annoying... no matter what i do i revert back. I start breathing fast but just cant seem to get a full breath becuase something in my chest feels or throat feels blocking. the oxygen barley reaches my chest, i only get a full breath sometimes when I yawn, but even that is a hit or miss, most times when i yawn i still cant reach a full breath. only like 1 full breath (only by yawning) every like 2 mins. this is so stressful. feels like my body has a blockage.
      what do you think this could be?

      @@inforthewin3231 Dear InForTheWin32 - It sounds like you are looking for a quick change. And your body is giving you a big clue - "feels like my body has a blockage." I was stuck like for many years. And I had definite blockages - for a reason. The memories I had buried went back to my childhood. I finally found a therapist who could wait till my body was ready to open. It took a very long time. I went on living my life - but I didn't like myself too much. Finally, I started journaling daily - sometimes for a couple hours at a time. At the end of my promised one-year commitment to journal, I started getting answers. Not ones I liked! But I knew they were real.
      If you can be patient and willing to comment to any practice - though I do recommend journaling (I added drawing too) - for a certain length of time, you will meet your real self. I wish you the best of luck. This was hard work for me, but I was committed to ONE YEAR before I began. And had no idea what the outcome would be. You might try 3 months to start, or 6. Stuff will happen.

    I want to ask one question. About processing stuff. In Somatic Expirience creating the more resilliance for stress in our nervous system is to first heal shock trauma if it is stuck and after that creating space for traumas created before. I had PTSD induced to relationship breakup. In modern psychology it is in its origin BPD. I had so many issues come up after that breakup. I work with my therapist. In my understanding EMDR works past, presence and future. In Somatic perspective it is the oposite in my case. I really feel that I should come bacn threw EMDR to that specific trauma that induced PTSD. And not to work only on my childhood. If I have a deep urge, and if its problem num1 in my life, ruminating, feeling freeze around it, would you sudgest that I should do that even speciffically, and after that past. Thank you

    I had EMDR over a year ago with a therapist, it really helped, and my ptsd improved a lot, the thing is now I’m experiencing a bit of a relapse, I kind of know what the deal is with how it works, therapist are all booked up where I’m from. I’m kind of thinking self administrated could be a good call, anyone here got good feed back from it?

    I have a question for you,
    I am sure you have the answer to that.
    If you are going through a change and at that point you are changing your thought process which is not very easy but what I want to know is, since your old pattern of thinking is in your brain which was there for quite some time and now you are working to change that what's the right way or how can we make this process easy as you have made your beliefs on the old pattern and now it has become your thinking pattern .
    I have been suffering from anxiety due to some thought patterns.
    I am working on to change but with anxiety it becomes difficult at times to move on to new patterns.
    Can you guide me how can I make this shift to new thought process in an easy way.
    Your lecture on I Hate change ,has changed my opinion .

    I am in the stage right now where I am learning about the process and trying to figure out whether emdr is right for me.. I grabbed the pdf but my biggest question is would this work on multiple core beliefs that you want to fix over several emdr sessions? Maybe jotting them ahead of time would be helpful for me so I can just basically throw them on the table so to speak so I am prepared to work on what's next.

    Can I simply dart my eyes left to right looking at my stationary knees? When I use videos and look at a light going back and forth, I get a strain in my eyes. Would it make any difference if my knees are stationary? I notice therapist move their hand back and forth.

      In my practice, I found that many types of bilateral stimulation were effective. Tapping one's knees (one hand then the other) as well as moving the eyes while doing that worked for some people I worked with. There are also electronic tappers available and the eyes can be closed, or listening to alternate beats with headphones (some of the YT videos do that if listened to with headphones).

    Question when you're telling your story to yourself beginning middle and end snag is is there is no end because I am still going to court because it's been continued and continued 8 times and jury trial is not until March, now. this month is December. that is my challenge. for me that is the reality of my situation right now. Anxiety stress looping thoughts and dreams at night waking up early in the morning resulting from domestic violence trauma and stress. It has taken almost 1 1/ 2 years for the court system to get its act together to get a trial date for a jury trial.
    Meanwhile it's all working on me because there is no finality yet. So what EMDR techniques would you recommend in that situation to work with since my story has not finish has no ending.

    If a child from quite a young age, say age 3 onwards feels unsafe- insecure- they also had a few separation traumas at around 4 and 4 and a half - can emdr help them so they feel safer or safe as an adult and more secure? Currently I am more in freeze mode, making it hard to deal with life!! I need to be functional and do the stuff that needs doing to care for my relative who has gone into care.

    I'm not sure how to get to a "safe place" that isn't avoidance or detachment. Just being present in my body and in reality for me is overwhelmingly distressing due to YEARS of denying how poorly I handled myself after an upsetting event and finally understanding what that has cost me.

      Depersonalization could be seen as a type of avoidance - but it is really a "freeze" state that becomes habitual. It is usually not an avoidance that is conscious.

    Barbara, a question please: I am a highly senstive man (heterosexual and deeply abused) and my soul has being rape by an authoritarian, abusive, narcisisitic parent from early chilhood and also in adulthood, an extremely morally corrupt sick mind did this. I feel a void of self esteem in the pit of my stomach and extrmely disempowered and not enogh to defend my self or make other respect me using force when this is needed in extreme abusive situations, as a resulkt I feel my sefl respt as a man has been compromised because I am always threaten by stronger people o by a societal conspiracy and corrupt police that forcicly makes threats to the self expression of my emotional needs also not wanting to ackwoledge narcisisitc abuse as a devastating threat to life itself. and my question to you is: HOW DO A STAY EMOTIONALLY STRONG AND RECOVER FROM A SOUL RAPE, LITERALLY, I WAS SOUL-RAPED.

    Hi I have a question about flooding. If we have been doing work to remain grounded in intense negative emotions, is it still necessary to step back when they come up? Ex: If I have been practicing holding space for my grief, sadness, or anger, and during an emdr session feel flooded with that emotion to the point of wanting to sob / scream, etc, but still feel present in expressing that emotion, is it okay to continue with the emdr or is it better to step back, and return once the emotion has subsided? I also feel that sometimes in waiting for an emotion to subside, I sometimes slip into avoidance instead of actually returning to a neutral state (and was actually more grounded / present when I was being present with the emotion). So I am curious if it is okay to be expressing / feeling intense emotions while doing the emdr. I hope that question makes sense, and obviously no pressure to answer. Thank you for this video! It is super helpful and informative.

    I have a question for you if you've got the time. Right now I am pursuing a theory that in the summer of 2020 I accidentally gave myself EMDR by watching Reiki/ASMR TH-cam videos. In an attempt to soothe myself through minor T trauma I was dealing with, I started watching a TON of videos where flashlights were repeatedly shined in my eyes and ASMRtists (love them to death but) had me track their finger back and forth on the screen for extended periods of time. Though I knew what EMDR was then, I have only just recently made the connection that this could be the reason I had an unprecedented psychosomatic episode that I understood to be an intense physical reaction coupled with halfway-resurfacing memories of big T trauma. When I went to the hospital seeking help, I was diagnosed with and treated for bipolar disorder and a weed addiction. I don't believe this was the care I needed, and it was an extremely frustrating process. I'm finally at a point in my life where I'm able to reassess what happened to me then and carve out a path forward. I guess my question would be -- have you heard of this happening? I'm finding a lot of videos now of pursue-at-your-own-risk at-home EDMR videos, but is oopsie daisy giving yourself EMDR and getting trapped in an incomplete process of it something that, like... happens to people? Would be so interested in hearing what you have to say. Thanks.

    I believe that for small traumas (memories of offenses or insults etc ..) it can also be done alone but for serious traumas (violence, earthquakes etc) then you have to do it with a therapist.

      For some people, processing the small traumas will bring them very quickly into the large ones, so they don’t always stay separate.

I approach buddhism as a philosophy, not a religion, and simply bring in the philosophy pieces that I believe can help us lead happier lives.       @@BarbaraHeffernan I really appreciate your understanding and can understand the perspective/ point of view approach.
      I’ve been noticing that in recent years, for some reason, there has been a boom of Buddhism and it’s merging into the Psicology; as a result, it has emerged new tools such mindfulness, etc…
      However; indeed, Budhism is a religion, in a strict sense and historically speaking…
      Also, personally; I have had bad experiences with spirits. Not anymore! So, now, I’m very careful with those kind of things.
      People think that the spiritual realm is a science fiction idea, or a crazy thought (I used to think the same), but it’s so real. It does come in The Bible. Only, until I started to dig deep into it and developing a closer relationship with Jesus was when I was able to stop being bothered by those spirits. I tried the dialectic or CBT and of course it didn’t worked because it wasn’t “a crazy idea”… Thank you for your respect!

    i think you could communicate better without all the hand/arm movements, which are VERY distracting - i had to scroll the video out of view

      Hi Kevin: Actually, I don't think I can communicate without the hand movements!! That is part of my style and I know it doesn't work for everyone. However, it would not be a good thing for me to try to become self conscious about my hand movements. I totally understand if my material doesn't work for you. and I wish you the best!

    So somebody mentioned on Joe Rogan the term EMDR, I paused his video then staying on Y/T ( first mistake by me.) I got you by putting in the said Four letters I then get you as the first impression. You commence with how qualified you are, and all the advances you've obtained in the matters concerning. Have you ever considered that explaining what the abbreviation stands for maybe more productive 2:00 minutes in and I've yet to find out what these letters stand for. Left the video so as to search online. ( 2nd mistake, for not doing this first. For someone who comes across so smugly, I'd sure appreciate if you'd be more concise in your explanation. Not necessary now as I ain't coming back anytime soon. Do better !
