I bought mine brand new in 2018, navarra blue/rotor gray prestige 69k msrp fully loaded. Installed apr stage 1 just a year ago and thats my biggest regret- should have installed it the day it became available! Best thing I did to my s5 sportback. Its so much more agile and enjoyable now. No brainer honestly. Im on 46k mi now, feels brand new. My advice to you as an Audi owner for 14 years now- change your oil every 5k miles instead of 10. I’ve learned it the hard way. Good luck

I have been an Audi guy for more than a decade now and I had an A6 for 12 years, now I am driving a 2019 Q5 and in the future I will jump on the Etron but the S5 Sportback will still be my number 1 dream for a GT car.

Exactly!! The BMWs I had include the 435i and 440i Gran Coupes. What a difference that roofline makes. So much nicer than the coupe and the sedan along with a boatload of utility.

I have always loved the A and S5 over the A4 and that green is the one I want to get. Very good owners review, I tested the A4 s-line and I like it but the 5 is what I really want and I can't wait to own one including an Sq8 yesss!
I'm an Audi fan. I also went to VSTT training. I believe Audi is the best choice vehicles for anyone really. And, I agree that, unless someone has experienced the difference the Quattro makes, they would just never be able to give an accurate comparison. The build quality is impeccable. For a while, Audi reliability and durability was higher than Lexus. 2021 dropped below Lexus, but Audi is in the process of fixing that problem. Also, it's really important to know what version of Quattro you are buying. Transversely mounted engine-drive train setup is different than longitudinally-mounted engine-drive train setup. You want the Torsen system. Haldex is OK, but the Torsen system and the "Sport" rear diff is what you really want.
@@Pietro931 It's always interesting to me how someone, esp. a car enthusiast, responds to driving an Audi with Quattro. I've liked Audi and VW since the late '80s an into the '90s watching WRC, and I've driven many a BMW. I never liked the BMW driving experience. Not exactly sure. But, going from Audi to BMW didn't work out for me.

Thought it was black at first!! WOW that exclusive color is so awesome, I have you exact car in boring Mythos Black over black nappa! They only thing I do not like is the drivetrain slack / on off throttle small jerk when at low speeds. Hopefully the 034 Motorsports trans mount helps!! Congratulations and thank you for sharing.
Get the black optic pkg, carbon fiber interior trim, B&O sound system, Sport package - a must. If you like leather, get that too. I got the premium plus pkg. Also, it comes down to the color you like. I have a video on my page for the exclusive colors which is a 3900 charge. Regular metallic is 500, so 3400 overall upcharge. Check out the colors, you may like one enough to go that route.
I got a blue version, not everyones cup of tea, but absolutely love the car, compliments my white TT, and both remapped 460 and 225 respectively, you do notice the difference, and fuel economy is up as well
Mine is Deep Green Pearl Effect. Looks black in the shade, but in the light the Pearl Green is amazing. Check out my video on just the paint on the car.

I´m glad to see your review, your opinion is important to me, a person who is fan of BMW and had 20 years with BMW, for me Audi was a boring car, but when I saw a few days ago this line sportsback, i´ve seen the most beautiful car in the world. And all reviews I have read till now were good, except from one person who said that is like a Volkswagen I live in Europe, the cars that selling here are getting boring year after year owe to climate change regulations. This is considered the cream of the crop of all luxury premium vehicles in the Audi lineup. I was looking at the Mercedes E450 4MATIC and I like it a lot but a sporty luxury car takes the cake here. I may be wrong, the interior of the S5 is a bit dated compared to the Audi A6 which gives you a two way screen with the responsive haptic feedback. But overall, the S5 is a great car that will leave a smile on someone's face.
The S5 in my opinion has the best design in it's class. The big and beautiful screen is right at eye level, and easy to use. The A6 is gorgeous too, but I personally find the S5's infotainment to be the best looking and most intuitive.

i'm surprised the dealer never specced black tail pipes since everything is blacked out. I have a 2023 in white and black optics. Great daily driver so far.
The swine look is hideous, sure, but worse than that is how model after model I witnessed them cheating us out of features...with the last one, a 2018 440i , I really felt like it was a kick in the gut by taking away the interior roof handles as well as taking away electro chromatic feature from the passenger side rear view mirror...and to think that I ordered a manual and it came with rev-match which could not be disabled!! Whats more; doesn't come equipped with limited slip differential. Couldn't get it from factory; had to be installed either at the port or later at the dealer...definitley became swine-natured over the years ...finally their true nature shows in their new designsu Audi might be the way to go or even the new Golf R if they will offer it with the Akrapovic exhaust, as in Europe; that will he a great, great day!
Thanks for the in depth review. A lot of people seem to think that BMW is the more superior brand but that’s just not the case at all. I am looking to buy a S5 coupe here in the UK but unfortunately it’s only available as a diesel and with the added fake exhaust I am really not sure.
I had a BMW 3 and 4 series over the last 20 years and never thought on leaving. I did jump to the Audi brand after the hideous front end of the 4 series which the Gran Coupe is a part of. In trying to stay with that set up the S5 Sportback was the alternative and wow has it out performed my expectations. BMW may have lost a customer for life. As for the diesel engine issue in the UK, my heart goes out to you. I don't know why they would do that.
@@Pietro931 it’s all to do with the carbon emissions laws here in Europe. Even though Britain is no longer a member of the E.U, they have decided it makes sense and so that rule applies. Even the introduction of a soft limiter where you cannot rev past 2-3 thousand just to save on emissions.Things are changing fast over here. There are cities that have banned diesel and petrol altogether. It’s only a matter of time before others follow suit. My brother owns a BMW M4 and was all for buying the new model till he seen the front grill. He’s now thinking of buying an RS5 instead. Another customer lost.
@@Carl15O3 wow, not like that here YET, but its coming. Some cities are banning modified cars already. As for the RS5, great switch and will not be disappointed. The looks are way better. BMW lost the point that as you walk away from the car you should want to look back at it and say wow NOT at least the dark color hides the grill or the look Is growing on me like toe fugus. After spending all that money only a WOW will do.

That's awesome!!! I'm glad I was able to help. Double check to see if you can get red with that color, sometimes they have restrictions. As for the Deep Green Pearl Effect with black optic snd sport pkgs, you will always do a look back after parking the car.

It was a looker then, I remember cars slowing down to look at it as I drove the Highway. Such an exciting car to drive. Still the sleekest sedan on the road...
I really wanted one of these, but the deal breaker was the afterthought tablet stuck on top of the dash. I know Audi could have done better. Otherwise a super nice car.
Amazing choice. My friend insisted I go look at the M340i, and once I drove it I was shocked. The door plastic where you put your arm was cheap, rock hard. Just the plastics inside the car and panel felt very hard and poor in quality. The red cockpit was "in your face". The steering felt heavy and did not provide a luxurious sensation. I am really glad to have an Audi☺ Such a wonderful car.
I'd love an S5 - but in Denmark the prices are insane, and driving a looong drive everyday for work, it just wouldn't be viable with the gas prices being what they are (think its like 2.5x what they are in USA)

You can't be an ordinary person and dare to have dreams about cars like the S5 or such, as they themselves are expensive and then adding the insurance, gas prices etc its just insane .. Love watching videos from the US, as it seems like even people under 30 are able to save up to buy amazing cars, that only CEO's would probably buy in Denmark :D ..
@jonasdsem we are in an inflation issue here too. Maybe not as much as there. People under 30 can buy these cars, unfortunately, many have very high monthly payments.
At a similar price point, the M340i demolishes the S5 on everything performance. S5 looks significantly better than the m340 but I just can’t pull the trigger until they step those numbers up.
I drove the M340i before going to the Audi. Outside of 0 to 60 due to 35+/- hp, the Audi beats it hands down on styling, fit and finish, AWD Quattro standard, and overall quality.
I think that the roof line is much nicer than the coupe, also the 4 doors fill in the sides making the lines more fluid and the car looks more proportionately balanced.
@@Pietro931 I think the sport back looks really nice from the side and having 4 doors is really nice. I also love the extra trunk space. It’s just from certain angles it looks too long. From the side it looks great but from the corner/side area the front end looks too long and it slopes too much. The proportions don’t fit as well. Overall I think the coupe looks better. That’s just my opinion though bro and I still think the sport back looks nice overall! Sick car man.
Sweet ride! I’m trying to decide whether it’s worth it to go with an RS5 or an S5. It’s a 20k price difference and I’m not really sure the RS is actually worth that much more. Especially after watching this. Great wheels btw. They give the car a fresh look
If you're gonna track the car or try to push it to its limits the RS would be great, but for most people, the S is just fine. I don't think I'll ever be able to use the full potential of my S4, it's already incredibly quick.
@@dcerty1852 I actually wound up putting a deposit down on an RS3 after all. I had initially decided against it because I really hate the fact that Audi removed the gear shifter. (I'm not really a fan of paddles, and currently drive a manual M2 Comp) But I like the smaller body cars, so in the end decided I'd just live without the gear shifter. Now the only question is when the hell I'll actually get it. I won't even be able to select options until it officially becomes available, but at least my RS slot is reserved at the dealership. (I may not even take delivery this year in a worst case scenario apparently.)
@@hlf_coder6272 I love the look of the new RS3, I'm sure you're going to love it. I think you'll get it by the end of the year, considering that the rs6's are about a year's wait as well.
The S5 is a better daily as it has a balance between comfort and performance. It also costs a lot less for wearable maintenance like brakes and rotors.
Has it been 6 months yet?! I ordered a 2022 prestige S5 SB and watch your videos at least twice a week to help with the wait…. Can we convince you to do a 4 month as well? :)
Glad it helped out with the order and wait. The waiting part stinks though lol. Took 5 months for mine to come in. I was thinking of doing a 6 month review and include mpgs, city and why, tire wear, fit and feel, and a better understanding of the tablet.
How do you guys stay in business? BMW here has an acre lot with 4 new cars and Audi only has 3 on the lot. What are people doing when their lease is up?
It depends on where you are. In cold areas where potholes are, never get them. Here in Florida, not as bad. However, the tires are expensive and last 12k to 15k miles at best.

Nothing at all. A recall of a software update, other than that nothing mechanical. As for tires, I went with Michelins, much better handling and ride over the Continentals.

I have the exact same one(Mythos Black metallic/Premium Plus Package/S Sport Package/Black Optic Package/Fine Nappa leather seats/B&O Sound System/Carbon Atlas Inlays/Rear Side Airbags), just purchased it a few days ago. The Black Optic Package makes it looks way better. I love this car The only complaint is that this car doesn't ride as comfortable as my old 2020 Lexus RC300 F Sport AWD)
Both packages make the look over the top. The Lexus is more of a comfy sporty car, the Audi is a balance of sport and comfy, the BMW is mostly sport. Good luck with your gem, you will love it.
Pietro, I finally got my 2022 S5 Mythos Black, Red Leather, Premium Plus Package. Sport Differential, Sport Package, SportBack. Just Love it. I've got 300 miles on it. Stays in the Garage most of the week. How do you get the RPM display on your dash? Maybe I can't because I have have my phone connect using CarPlay most of the time.
Amazing!!! You will learn how to use all of its electronics in time. I have the andriod hooked up all the time and listed to my TH-cam Music app all the time. Better than Sirius XM. I chose the traditional RPM and Speedometer set up. There are a few different styles you can select, then there are sub selections with in each that can be controlled from the sterring wheel (left side). Send me a video!!! Hoping to.see it soon. I just had the front end wrapped in PPF. After a year without it, I would highly recommend getting it done.
@@VisionStance no issues. The damage the debris front the road does the lower front spoiler and just over the grille is surprising. Don't have it happen if it can be avoided.
Just seeing your video. BMW guy here on my 4th bmw. right now have a 22 X3 M40i. On vacation and my rental is an Audi A5 and its very nice. I enjoy driving it and its very comfortable right away which i find isn’t always the case with BMW - takes time to find that comfort spot in the seating. Actually considering the A5 for my next vehicle - i like the hatch aspect and BMW seems to have done away with that in the 4 series grand coupe. How much of a change was it to switch ( bmw to audi) i really like BMW Tech, did you find Audi comparable? Easier? Better? Do you miss anything about bmw?
The biggest difference was on demand power. The HP and torque numbers for the Audi are lower but more refined. The Audi's interior is of higher quality, and I find it to be a better daily because it has a more refined ride. The Quattro system is fantastic. I do like it better for all those things and the styling. BMW has lost its way with its designs, not sure what they are thinking or trying to achieve.
@@Pietro931 thanks for the reply. It would be a tough decision because in terms of tech i do like bmw split screen and option to use the idrive wheel vs only touch screen. So if i do go back into a sedan it will be between bmw 3 or 4 series vs the A5 but the hatch on A5 may be the item that seals the deal

Fuel economy, the bmw better, power… bmw better, handling… bmw much better, steering feeling bmw quite superior, interior spacing… bmw wins again, storage space in the interior bmw wins by far. Audi is only superior in braking, that’s all, and aesthetically, although this is a matter of personal taste
Can you please bring the car up to NYC up when you are done owning it? You have the exact color I want, but I only ever see that new District Green Metallic which isn't comparable.
My review and comparison to BMW is based on personal experience, so the intent was to give someone who may be looking at only a BMW may want to add this to their list as I mentioned in the part of my review. As for being to white, I have no idea what that means.

I ordered the car in October 2020 before the supply issue. Back then the dealership dealt on a sale, now I would say that is unlikely especially on a custom order. I wasn't sure how I would like it so I leased it. At some point I just may buy it out.
I was wondering about the maintenance? What do they do for you, and cost? Is there anything else you miss from BMW? Perhaps a walkthrough of the infotainment? Cuz of the chip shortage, won't be able to get a test drive :( Awesome car btw, love the colour!
The maintenance on the Audi is done every 10k miles, I bought the package and saved around $500. It has high performance spark plugs which need to be replaced each time. The BMW was a great rear wheel platform with single turbo but twin scroll so power was instantaneous at any rpm. With the Audi S5 you need to down shift to do the same. The current styling of the 4 series is awful. The oversized front openings just don't do it for me. The Gran Coupe is equivalent to the sportback with the 5th door. The roof styling of the that type of car looks so nice. The HK system of BMW and B&O of Audi are on par with eachother. Where you do notice the difference is the quality of the interior of the Audi. The carbon fiber is deep and designed nicely, the pieces don't feel like plastic. If it weren't for the 4 series styling chosing one of the two cars would have been difficult. When I turn back and look at the Audi in that color and packages, it makes we want to buy it again.
What about reliability and overall engine experience? Knowing at bmw and principally the m340i/m440i has more HP than the S5...how much this will increase/change the driving experience (engine/reliability/cost) pov and ultimately final decision between both brands? Thoughts? I am at the same boat between m340i or s5, and again, mainly from a engine/reliability/cost effectiveness. Ah - plus the m340/m440i they have the additional battery as part of equation...
The reliability has been very good, with no issues in 26k miles. I did purchase the maintenance package when new that covers everything up to 40k miles. I will add a 100k maintenance package after that to ensure no surprises. All German cars are not cheap to maintain, these packages are good insurance policies. As for driving dynamics, the S5 Sportback is very balanced, and when in sport mode you can't tell the difference between an M440i and an S5. The two are very comparable cars. To me, the styling was the determining factor. In that department, there is no comparison. The utility in both cars, not the 3 series, is comparable as well. I do think the interior fit and finish are of higher quality in the Audi. Especially the carbon fiber. The wheels in the Audi lineup hands down have a nicer design as well. HP is a small factor, and once in motion is all but nullified. Hope this helps. Not an easy decision to make. I got the Audi after a test drive and have been very happy with that decision. I did have a BMW for 20+ years.

I got a blue version, not everyones cup of tea, but absolutely love the car, compliments my white TT, and both remapped 460 and 225 respectively, you do notice the difference, and fuel economy is up as well

This is considered the cream of the crop of all luxury premium vehicles in the Audi lineup. I was looking at the Mercedes E450 4MATIC and I like it a lot but a sporty luxury car takes the cake here. I may be wrong, the interior of the S5 is a bit dated compared to the Audi A6 which gives you a two way screen with the responsive haptic feedback. But overall, the S5 is a great car that will leave a smile on someone's face.

The S5 in my opinion has the best design in it's class. The big and beautiful screen is right at eye level, and easy to use. The A6 is gorgeous too, but I personally find the S5's infotainment to be the best looking and most intuitive.

I ordered a RS5 Sportback in tornado red. So excited for it!!! Currently driving a 2020 S3 and it’s not what I was hoping for.
The S3 is like a VW GTI. The S5 and RS5 is the best balance of size, power, utility, and price. Congrats 👏on your selection.
You can't compare the S3 to a Gti, a Golf R would make more sense.

The swine look is hideous, sure, but worse than that is how model after model I witnessed them cheating us out of features...with the last one, a 2018 440i , I really felt like it was a kick in the gut by taking away the interior roof handles as well as taking away electro chromatic feature from the passenger side rear view mirror...and to think that I ordered a manual and it came with rev-match which could not be disabled!! Whats more; doesn't come equipped with limited slip differential. Couldn't get it from factory; had to be installed either at the port or later at the dealer...definitley became swine-natured over the years ...finally their true nature shows in their new designsu
Audi might be the way to go or even the new Golf R if they will offer it with the Akrapovic exhaust, as in Europe; that will he a great, great day!

Thanks for the in depth review. A lot of people seem to think that BMW is the more superior brand but that’s just not the case at all. I am looking to buy a S5 coupe here in the UK but unfortunately it’s only available as a diesel and with the added fake exhaust I am really not sure.
I had a BMW 3 and 4 series over the last 20 years and never thought on leaving. I did jump to the Audi brand after the hideous front end of the 4 series which the Gran Coupe is a part of. In trying to stay with that set up the S5 Sportback was the alternative and wow has it out performed my expectations. BMW may have lost a customer for life. As for the diesel engine issue in the UK, my heart goes out to you. I don't know why they would do that.
@@Pietro931 it’s all to do with the carbon emissions laws here in Europe. Even though Britain is no longer a member of the E.U, they have decided it makes sense and so that rule applies. Even the introduction of a soft limiter where you cannot rev past 2-3 thousand just to save on emissions.Things are changing fast over here. There are cities that have banned diesel and petrol altogether. It’s only a matter of time before others follow suit. My brother owns a BMW M4 and was all for buying the new model till he seen the front grill. He’s now thinking of buying an RS5 instead. Another customer lost.
@@Carl15O3 wow, not like that here YET, but its coming. Some cities are banning modified cars already. As for the RS5, great switch and will not be disappointed. The looks are way better. BMW lost the point that as you walk away from the car you should want to look back at it and say wow NOT at least the dark color hides the grill or the look Is growing on me like toe fugus. After spending all that money only a WOW will do.

That's awesome!!! I'm glad I was able to help. Double check to see if you can get red with that color, sometimes they have restrictions. As for the Deep Green Pearl Effect with black optic snd sport pkgs, you will always do a look back after parking the car.

Agreed, looks like an after thought. BMW did that for a bit, hopefully Audi will integrate with the dash a bit better in future models.

Amazing choice. My friend insisted I go look at the M340i, and once I drove it I was shocked. The door plastic where you put your arm was cheap, rock hard. Just the plastics inside the car and panel felt very hard and poor in quality. The red cockpit was "in your face". The steering felt heavy and did not provide a luxurious sensation. I am really glad to have an Audi☺ Such a wonderful car.
Between the interior quality and the styling, after 20 years I moved away from BMW. Audi was a complete gamble, but very happy I made the change.

I'd love an S5 - but in Denmark the prices are insane, and driving a looong drive everyday for work, it just wouldn't be viable with the gas prices being what they are (think its like 2.5x what they are in USA)

@jonasdsem we are in an inflation issue here too. Maybe not as much as there. People under 30 can buy these cars, unfortunately, many have very high monthly payments.

At a similar price point, the M340i demolishes the S5 on everything performance. S5 looks significantly better than the m340 but I just can’t pull the trigger until they step those numbers up.
I drove the M340i before going to the Audi. Outside of 0 to 60 due to 35+/- hp, the Audi beats it hands down on styling, fit and finish, AWD Quattro standard, and overall quality.
You can always chip it. I feel like the m340i looks much cheaper overall than the s5

It’s really nice but I think the coupe looks better. I really want this in Daytona grey with the red seats and black optics package!
I think that the roof line is much nicer than the coupe, also the 4 doors fill in the sides making the lines more fluid and the car looks more proportionately balanced.
@@Pietro931 I think the sport back looks really nice from the side and having 4 doors is really nice. I also love the extra trunk space. It’s just from certain angles it looks too long. From the side it looks great but from the corner/side area the front end looks too long and it slopes too much.
The proportions don’t fit as well. Overall I think the coupe looks better. That’s just my opinion though bro and I still think the sport back looks nice overall! Sick car man.
Sweet ride! I’m trying to decide whether it’s worth it to go with an RS5 or an S5. It’s a 20k price difference and I’m not really sure the RS is actually worth that much more. Especially after watching this.

If you're gonna track the car or try to push it to its limits the RS would be great, but for most people, the S is just fine. I don't think I'll ever be able to use the full potential of my S4, it's already incredibly quick.

@@dcerty1852 I actually wound up putting a deposit down on an RS3 after all. I had initially decided against it because I really hate the fact that Audi removed the gear shifter. (I'm not really a fan of paddles, and currently drive a manual M2 Comp)
But I like the smaller body cars, so in the end decided I'd just live without the gear shifter. Now the only question is when the hell I'll actually get it. I won't even be able to select options until it officially becomes available, but at least my RS slot is reserved at the dealership. (I may not even take delivery this year in a worst case scenario apparently.)
They didn't give you a time on when to expect an allotment? I had heard that the wait can be 10 months. I hope I am wrong.

The S5 is a better daily as it has a balance between comfort and performance. It also costs a lot less for wearable maintenance like brakes and rotors.

Glad it helped out with the order and wait. The waiting part stinks though lol. Took 5 months for mine to come in. I was thinking of doing a 6 month review and include mpgs, city and why, tire wear, fit and feel, and a better understanding of the tablet.
I work at an Audi dealer. Wait times are crazy right now. We have only 1 or 2 new cars on the lot at a time. The chip shortage is insane.
How do you guys stay in business? BMW here has an acre lot with 4 new cars and Audi only has 3 on the lot. What are people doing when their lease is up?

It depends on where you are. In cold areas where potholes are, never get them. Here in Florida, not as bad. However, the tires are expensive and last 12k to 15k miles at best.

Nothing at all. A recall of a software update, other than that nothing mechanical. As for tires, I went with Michelins, much better handling and ride over the Continentals.

I have the exact same one(Mythos Black metallic/Premium Plus Package/S Sport Package/Black Optic Package/Fine Nappa leather seats/B&O Sound System/Carbon Atlas Inlays/Rear Side Airbags), just purchased it a few days ago.
The Black Optic Package makes it looks way better. I love this car
The only complaint is that this car doesn't ride as comfortable as my old 2020 Lexus RC300 F Sport AWD)
Both packages make the look over the top. The Lexus is more of a comfy sporty car, the Audi is a balance of sport and comfy, the BMW is mostly sport. Good luck with your gem, you will love it.
Pietro, I finally got my 2022 S5 Mythos Black, Red Leather, Premium Plus Package. Sport Differential, Sport Package, SportBack. Just Love it. I've got 300 miles on it. Stays in the Garage most of the week. How do you get the RPM display on your dash? Maybe I can't because I have have my phone connect using CarPlay most of the time.
Amazing!!! You will learn how to use all of its electronics in time. I have the andriod hooked up all the time and listed to my TH-cam Music app all the time. Better than Sirius XM.
I chose the traditional RPM and Speedometer set up. There are a few different styles you can select, then there are sub selections with in each that can be controlled from the sterring wheel (left side).

I just had the front end wrapped in PPF. After a year without it, I would highly recommend getting it done.

@@VisionStance no issues. The damage the debris front the road does the lower front spoiler and just over the grille is surprising. Don't have it happen if it can be avoided.

Just seeing your video. BMW guy here on my 4th bmw. right now have a 22 X3 M40i. On vacation and my rental is an Audi A5 and its very nice. I enjoy driving it and its very comfortable right away which i find isn’t always the case with BMW - takes time to find that comfort spot in the seating. Actually considering the A5 for my next vehicle - i like the hatch aspect and BMW seems to have done away with that in the 4 series grand coupe. How much of a change was it to switch ( bmw to audi) i really like BMW Tech, did you find Audi comparable? Easier? Better? Do you miss anything about bmw?
The biggest difference was on demand power. The HP and torque numbers for the Audi are lower but more refined. The Audi's interior is of higher quality, and I find it to be a better daily because it has a more refined ride. The Quattro system is fantastic. I do like it better for all those things and the styling. BMW has lost its way with its designs, not sure what they are thinking or trying to achieve.

So if i do go back into a sedan it will be between bmw 3 or 4 series vs the A5 but the hatch on A5 may be the item that seals the deal

Fuel economy, the bmw better, power… bmw better, handling… bmw much better, steering feeling bmw quite superior, interior spacing… bmw wins again, storage space in the interior bmw wins by far. Audi is only superior in braking, that’s all, and aesthetically, although this is a matter of personal taste

My review and comparison to BMW is based on personal experience, so the intent was to give someone who may be looking at only a BMW may want to add this to their list as I mentioned in the part of my review. As for being to white, I have no idea what that means.
Thank you for these insanely in depth videos! Did you buy or lease and did they work with you discount-wise at all? I was under the impression that Audi dealerships wouldn’t budge unless it’s an inventory car on site
I ordered the car in October 2020 before the supply issue. Back then the dealership dealt on a sale, now I would say that is unlikely especially on a custom order. I wasn't sure how I would like it so I leased it. At some point I just may buy it out.
I was wondering about the maintenance? What do they do for you, and cost? Is there anything else you miss from BMW? Perhaps a walkthrough of the infotainment? Cuz of the chip shortage, won't be able to get a test drive :( Awesome car btw, love the colour!
The maintenance on the Audi is done every 10k miles, I bought the package and saved around $500. It has high performance spark plugs which need to be replaced each time. The BMW was a great rear wheel platform with single turbo but twin scroll so power was instantaneous at any rpm. With the Audi S5 you need to down shift to do the same. The current styling of the 4 series is awful. The oversized front openings just don't do it for me. The Gran Coupe is equivalent to the sportback with the 5th door. The roof styling of the that type of car looks so nice. The HK system of BMW and B&O of Audi are on par with eachother. Where you do notice the difference is the quality of the interior of the Audi. The carbon fiber is deep and designed nicely, the pieces don't feel like plastic. If it weren't for the 4 series styling chosing one of the two cars would have been difficult. When I turn back and look at the Audi in that color and packages, it makes we want to buy it again.
What about reliability and overall engine experience? Knowing at bmw and principally the m340i/m440i has more HP than the S5...how much this will increase/change the driving experience (engine/reliability/cost) pov and ultimately final decision between both brands? Thoughts? I am at the same boat between m340i or s5, and again, mainly from a engine/reliability/cost effectiveness. Ah - plus the m340/m440i they have the additional battery as part of equation...
The reliability has been very good, with no issues in 26k miles. I did purchase the maintenance package when new that covers everything up to 40k miles. I will add a 100k maintenance package after that to ensure no surprises. All German cars are not cheap to maintain, these packages are good insurance policies.
As for driving dynamics, the S5 Sportback is very balanced, and when in sport mode you can't tell the difference between an M440i and an S5. The two are very comparable cars. To me, the styling was the determining factor. In that department, there is no comparison.
The utility in both cars, not the 3 series, is comparable as well. I do think the interior fit and finish are of higher quality in the Audi. Especially the carbon fiber.
The wheels in the Audi lineup hands down have a nicer design as well.
HP is a small factor, and once in motion is all but nullified.
Hope this helps. Not an easy decision to make. I got the Audi after a test drive and have been very happy with that decision. I did have a BMW for 20+ years.
