I think the exterior is a huge upgrade. It feels so refreshing and modernized. I like the squished grill cuz in combination with the lower part + side "vents" looks more dynamic and aggressive. The interior on the other hand... meh
I like the exterior design and I like the S with the V6! Glad they didn't fit a smaller engine! 😃 RS versions will look very good... The interior is definitely a step backwards.
Personally, I think this new generation looks great! The screen infotainment and gauge cluster is something I was hoping to NOT see, but I’m glad the 3rd passenger screen is optional (to remove it). Overall, the exterior design is refreshing to me, but I’m more excited for the RS5 than the A5 and S5
It's a sedan that has a liftback, nothing too complicated. Wich all sedans should have, otherwise the trunk is useless, and then everybody will complain that family sedans are not selling comparing to SUV's. Audi is doing a good job with this one.
Yup, doesn’t look like these giant screens are going anywhere for a while. I thought if enough people complained they might tone it down and bring back physical buttons, but no, it only gets worse
To be fair, putting a s5 next to a RS5 in terms of comparison n still having the new generation look even half as good is refreshing, that's a beautiful car, bring the narrow bodied S5 from the previous Generation, I wanna see something 🥱
This is very similar to mercedes combining the C and E Class Coupe. This is technically the replacement for the A4, but they're adding some of the A5 into it.
My son has an ‘18 S5 Sportback and we both agree we like it much more than this new version. The previous generation is sporty and looks it. This new iteration is just a sedan with fewer hard angles which removes the aggressive stance that made it look so good. Hopefully this is just a one-year model and gets updated sooner than later.

0:15 "In 80% of design changes that are made, I don't like the new design". Could it be age? Maybe that's because your reference of beauty lies in the past, and current designers are simply younger than you.
I 100% agree with you on the interior. I had the previous A5 and it was a master piece but I really hate the new one with touch based everything. Apparently people want this... but I think I will be getting a used car next after having bought 4 new German cars in the last 10 years. I really dislike everything new coming out the last 2-3 years and it doesn't have to do with the electrification. I'm very positive to electrification, driving a BMW 330e pre facelift right now.
No one is calling the new A5 “vulgar”. Audi have replaced 6 different models with 2, dropping 4 models which didn’t sell well, and I think an A5 sport back, plus an avant option is definitely the best they could have picked. I think this looks gorgeous.
This guy is a very strange and hysterical person. His ranting about the new Audi A5 design is ridiculous and totally annoying! His critizism really makes no sense at all for 99%. I don't understand this guy. His annoyingly dumb ranting about the cool and modern looking curved screens.... Oh my god! EVERY new car has big screens, and 99% of car customers nowadays are even critizicing new cars with only smaller screens. Tesla started this huge screen thing, and every carmaker did the same thing. You can't stop progress. There can be only one opinion: both versions of the new A5 look amazing! There's almost no flaw in all the many design details of these two car versions. You are 100% spot on! There should be a drivers cockpit and a shared center screen but not connected. This looks like the interior of some type of driverless vehicle not a car that’s meant to be driven. I hope there’s a button you can press to make that screen disappear into the dash lol but seriously it’s terrible. Old Audi stock is going to skyrocket and if you are looking to start a business retro fitting new Audis with proper dash an instrument clusters you’d do well.
In my opinion, Sportbacks are simply sedans that have a hatch instead of a traditional trunk. I also like the design of the new A5/S5. But I have to agree with the interior. I don't know what the big three German brands are doing nowadays but to me the interiors of Mercs, BMWs, and now Audis lack any sort of personality. I will say that the new Audi interior is probably the one I'm the least bothered by when compared to Mercedes and BMW's latest interiors, but I still don't think it's all that great. The last-gen Audi interiors felt more contemporary than this.
Bembli, I always agree with you. But not on this one. It looks dope. People want tech, people want big screens. Exterior also looks super modern and spaceship like. Again, I like what Audi has done here, I'm happy they not pulling the BMW design choices.
I do agree that the interior screens look a bit too large. Maybe I will change my mind if I get to sit in one. However, the exterior is much better than the outgoing S5 in my opinion.
Audi’s interiors were perfect at late 00’s and early 10’s. I don’t know if I’m a dinasour at 40 or car companies’ consumer surveys justify these kind of designs. But come on, that screen and cheap steering wheel…
I am with you......... It makes me think ALL design wants us to leave cars and catch a cab or uber. When I drive - I AM DRIVING - I want tactile buttons for HVAC, and some media (like volume) and I really don't need screens except for SatNav. I dont' want an EV either, maybe hybrid, as I need range and short stops. So I simply will stop buying new cars. Easy. These companies brought it on themselves.
Walter da Silvas design was gorgeous. Still regret selling my 2009 S5. Bullet proof future classic. Even 2003 S4 avant (that I still have) is much more beautiful and unique. 100% agree on the digital screens too . Too much.
To be fair, the new A5 has the front headlights from a BMW and the taillights from a Mercedes... The style is very clean, especially from the side, but the interior is a big mess of screens. I do not like new digital interiors, I prefer more analog stuff. Remember when Audi integrated the temp display inside the climate control vents? That was super sleek! Why can't they replicate something like that, I mean it's ok to add some screens, but interiors don't have to be all about those.
I am working as probramer in lab company. I sit in front of screen every day. Even I am no in work I still wanna play GW2 or other games but when I go to car I wanna fucking rest from it I dont want to go form one fucking gaming room to another with steering wheel.
I mean, we can complain about this Audi quite a lot, BUT at the same time - This is quite a moneymaker for the company. People who buy this car in this price range - They want all of the latest trends and blings, shiny huge ass screens and so on. So it is not a surprise, that Audi is not trying to do anything too crazy and over the top here. Also, look at the society nowadays - people start to care less about cars and more about getting from point A to point B, unfortunately. This leaves more second hand options for people like us, who prefere V8 engines and real buttons :)
Do people really hate on this car? I find it so beautiful, last 5-6 years none of the new audis had any appeal to me, A5 was a catastrophe when compared to the first gen A5 which still is to this day one of the most beautiful Audis ever made.
I think new design is so much better than the old one... Old one is sort of "work in progress", if you will.... Now with new model, the iteration is complete...
This guy is comparing a B9.5 S5 and a B9 RS5 at the same time to the new B10. He doesn’t even know he’s comparing two different generation and different cars lmao. The interior he’s comparing the B10 S5 to is the old interior 😭.
The new A5 replaces the A4 and A5. Since A4 is the one with most volume sales, you should do a comparison with the A4 also, at least for the exterior (the interior being the same). Also, we do not get the wagon (Avant) but we can expect the Allroad version in North America (not presented yet)
I take this one personally as the timing was just off with buying a house to purchase the B8. B9 was frumpy and awkward but the screens on the new one are 10 times the deal-breaker. The shape of the screens is also an amorphous blob of Buick/GM designs. By the lowered standards of modern exterior car design this looks fine, just fix the interior and I'll buy.
I think you’re misinterpreting the selection of gauges. The digital ones should be configurable, but past models allowed you to opt out of having the “virtual cockpit” and would have a much smaller display flanked by two analog gauges. If I’m wrong someone tell me lol
I think the new A5/S5 looks fantastic. Ive been waiting for audi to replace the weird, almost out of place, middle display screen and they went crazy with this new screen. I dont like hearing that its not customizable but lets be honest, someone will figure out how to crack the coding and make it customizable.
So I have KIA Stinger....seems like an Audi S5 had a wild night in Korea and this is what we got. It's not bad but it does seems more generic or almost like Audi is borrowing more from other competitors designs. The old interior is better except for the center screen integration, which seems like an after thought and maybe should be slightly larger.
Generally agree with Bambli’s review. BTW, the new car will be a 2026 in the US as they are targeted for arrival here in the spring of 2025. The actual 2025 models are currently on sale and ride on the B9 platform. I own a 2018 A5 Sportback and am in the process of purchasing a 2025 model. The 2025 model is a slightly revised version of the B9 platform, essentially what Bembli refers to in the video as the Old car. As a guy trained in product design, I agree with Bembli the front intakes on the 2026 New car are too large. Models with bright work frames around these intakes look ridiculous to me. The side of the 2026 car looks fine, very similar to the B9 design. I don’t like the rear of the new car as well as the previous model. I see too much of the old BMW “Bangel Butt” that got panned on the old 7 series. The interior of the 2026 looks strange to me. Too much screen acreage that shouts you are driving a computer rather than a vehicle. Certainly sleek but I much prefer the more finely crafted analog looks of the B9 interior. Except for the screen on the B9 cars, which like Bembli says looks like an afterthought. It actually is not as jarring in person but it looks like it should retract into the dash but it doesn’t. Another thing I like better about the B9 A5 Sportback is the expected price. No doubt the 2026 car is going to see a significant price increase over the outgoing car. That along with the threat of tariffs on German cars makes the current car more attractive financially to me. I’ll be interested to see what the MSRP on the new 2026 A5 and S5 turn out to be. Based on the significant changes, especially on the interior, I expect the A5 price to increase by 2 to 4 thousand dollars. Throw a tariff on that and you’ve got a $70K A5. That would be too much for me.
Exterior changes are good in my opinion minus the generic lightbar which every car has these days. Interior changes with huge screens and missing physical buttons is a really sad thing. Nobody wants them, nobody likes them. Ok, teens like them since they never have used real buttons.
I actually don’t hate the big front screen, what I hate is the passenger screen that is just tacked on there breaking up the flow of the dash and making feel boxy in a bad way. They took all the luxury look out and made it look like a bad concept of what a future sporty ev could be. Get rid of the gloss black and screens and bring back brushed aluminum and wood please.

As for the design- if you pay Audi money, you don’t want people mistaking it for a Kia
The passenger screen is only optional!
Stop your idiotic ranting about things, which don't even exist, dude! You don't have to choose the passenger screen!
A lot of hysterically total out of control Americans are very strange people.... Oh yeah.... I almost forgot Trump. You are really out of control, dear Americans!
Greetings from Germany!
The Kia/Hyundai designer was an Audi designer... before.
It will be interesting to see how many of those new ICE cars will still be around in 10-15 years.
I hope not, EVs are the way.
eww
I knew Audi was gonna smack massive screens in the car….. I won’t be surprised if Porsche does the same thing gigantic wide screen
Since it’s all VW, you know it’ll happen soon 😭😭😭
They all are following the Taycan design language. It is seen in the new Panamera and Macan, and in the facelifted Cayenne.
I appreciate the new editing effects throughout the video, and congrats on getting a sponsor!
the new front and side are really nice i think. the back lights are EQS like old one much nicer. the screens inside are a deal breaker tho
I own a 2020 A5 premium s-line coupe and I 100% agree with your commentary, feels like they sold out big time with these 2025 changes. So happy with with my 2020, can't imagine getting rid of it, just the right blend of tech of car
F those screens. I am sick and tired of that!
Then you will never buy any new car ever haha. Just stick to the old ones, no one is stopping you
@@rb3431 it feels like you're okay with those screens. I'm just curious, how old are you? Genuinely curious. Because based on the statistics new car buyers are the age of 50 plus. Those bimbos with absolutely no taste dictate what our next car will look like? As if destroying the economy wasn't enough for them.
It is how it is. Not going to change anytime soon. You cannot release a premium car with a tiny screen anymore in 2024. Even lexus has some 15 inch thing now.
I like it, I'm excited for it, but I appreciate and respect your take.
I love your comment, sir. If only we all expressed ourselves in a manner such as yours.
Tell me what you want, while BMW messes up almost all of their designs Audi is bringing out really good looking cars like the new A5.
I actually kinda like it
Same my first thoughts from: the thumbnail
Naah looks cheaper and more soft

Literally saw this car today on the road, went on TH-cam to watch a video on it cuz it looked amazing in person and I can definitely confirm this car doesn’t do justice on camera. The body lines don’t pop .
As an owner of a F36 4 series (GranCoupe) the Hatchback design actually works really and super practical for a coupe looking 4 door car. However I don't agree that it can replace a traditional sedan
0:15 "In 80% of design changes that are made, I don't like the new design".
Could it be age? Maybe that's because your reference of beauty lies in the past, and current designers are simply younger than you.
I own a A4 2018 and I totally agree with everything you said. I didnt fall in love with this new one.
Nomenclature means naming.
A1 A3 A4....
I believe Audi nomenclature will go like this: even numbers EV and odd numbers ICE
I have a 2018 manual A4 S-Line. It has analog dials and the interior is perfect. Plus the manual is fun to drive.
No one is calling the new A5 “vulgar”. Audi have replaced 6 different models with 2, dropping 4 models which didn’t sell well, and I think an A5 sport back, plus an avant option is definitely the best they could have picked. I think this looks gorgeous.
Gonna have to disagree with this one. This car is gorgeous. And why are you comparing an RS5 to the current S5?
Agree! This is actually the first Audi sedan I would consider buying in a long time.
The A5 Avant design is PERFECT!
Greetings from Germany!
@@Porsche1969his content is basically just hating lmao. Hating on stuff gives you the most views.
@@Porsche1969 hahaha totally agree, car manufacturers need to give the consumers what they want. I mean apple had the iPhone mini and didn't sell. People wanted the bigger screens and apple geave the consumers the iPhone plus. So why assume car customers aren't demanding the bigger screens?...I don't get that complaint.
I love the look of the new A5, looks beautiful. But too much screens inside sticking up....
Isn‘t nomenclature a commonly used word?
English isn’t his first language
@@epicswirl it is not mine too but it is an universal word. In my language (totally different from English) is "Nomenklatura". Embarrasing.
Walter da Silvas design was gorgeous. Still regret selling my 2009 S5. Bullet proof future classic. Even 2003 S4 avant (that I still have) is much more beautiful and unique.
100% agree on the digital screens too . Too much.
15:45 well said.
Hope all car manufacturers will tune back on the big screens for their future models.
Car designs now: huge grille, squinty headlights and taillights, huge iPad slapped onto the centre console and driver's display. Zero creativity.
Why the heck does the passenger need a screen?? My wife just sits in her phone. Screen not needed there at all
Do people really hate on this car? I find it so beautiful, last 5-6 years none of the new audis had any appeal to me, A5 was a catastrophe when compared to the first gen A5 which still is to this day one of the most beautiful Audis ever made.
2024 S5 on order in anticipation of this video
I think new design is so much better than the old one... Old one is sort of "work in progress", if you will.... Now with new model, the iteration is complete...
This guy is comparing a B9.5 S5 and a B9 RS5 at the same time to the new B10. He doesn’t even know he’s comparing two different generation and different cars lmao.
The interior he’s comparing the B10 S5 to is the old interior 😭.
Comparing the new A5 with the old RS5 rather than comparing it to the A4🤦♂️ Wtf
I bought the 2014 Facelift of the first generation and it feels to me like it’s design wise the best
The Avant looks hella fine.. you can't deny that audi has the best avants. but maybe I am biased because I am european and I love avants :))
The new A5 replaces the A4 and A5. Since A4 is the one with most volume sales, you should do a comparison with the A4 also, at least for the exterior (the interior being the same). Also, we do not get the wagon (Avant) but we can expect the Allroad version in North America (not presented yet)
With my eyesight I prefer larger screens. The passenger screen is optional and can be turned off so I don’t know what the problem with that is.
It litereally looks like a BMW i4
I think it looks great. Just disappointed we don't get the avant stateside. I hope the change that. Maybe they'll bring an RS5 estate.
I like It, better design than bmw and merc
BMW and Merc are still working on the new 3 and C-Class.
The standard 3 series is a good looking car. The C-Class was forgettable as it didn't look much different to the other MB sedans.
@@richardlabeja I agree i like the current 3 series
That's not a lot these days 😂.
I do kinda like it. But the bar is pretty low as long I don't have to look at split headlights!
I think its the best designed audi in years. Smaller grille, more like the best audis when they were building them around the 2000 years.
Vulgar Display of Power was a great Album😂
I also prefer the previous S4 or S5 models especially the exterior.
I like it. I’m only going to be buying the RS model though.
It kinda looks like a 4 series gran coupe from the front because of the headlight shape
Headlight, taillights and the hofmeister kink aside, from the side it looks like a 4 series to me
I think its a beautiful design and i think it looks better than the old one
Finally, Audi now looks like an old Ford Mondeo
