Well perhaps this is why there are double yellow lines! It still does not give them any right to park on a pavement. Just to lazy to park legally some distance away and walk.

That man was empty headed. He had little to say, other than to lie that Parking Authorities had given a green light for double yellow parking and to block the pavements. What a load of Bull_hit.....
Of course it will be interesting to see what the council will say about this. Reality may suggest that the council is not bothered with enforcement unless people like yourself...and others in numbers are prepared to kick up a fuss about this. It rarely happens, the less the merrier for the council authorities. A cop out for this crooked man and what could be a cop out for parking authorities. If all parties are allowed to get away with it then they most certainly will. They really do not care.

There appears to be clear double yellows below the front of the Europcar van in the opening frames of the video. On the other side of the road, double yellows are faded, but definitely noticeable. If they are in the same state on both sides, there are various forms of illegal parking here.
    1 Parked on double yellows
2 Parked on a footpath obstructing the free movement of pedestrians (a self-centered act)
3 Parked on the wrong side of the road (2 vehicles to the right of the entrance)
Both 2 and 3 certainly apply.

I didn't like how he started down the route that their not having specified a large enough facility for their business need, was a reasonably excuse for illegally using the public highway instead, especially the idea that by only using 50% of the public highway was some how charitable and honourable on their part. I was on my way, after a hospital appointment, to the nearby town, but when I asked the guy, who's car was parked on the pavement, if he could move it so I didn't have to go into the main road in my wheelchair, he grabbed my wheelchair and toppled it over. Unfortunately, without assistance I can't get back into my wheelchair. Luckily for me, a passing woman witnessed what happened and shouted at the man, who quickly got into his car and drove away. The woman helped me get back into my wheelchair and asked me if I wanted her to phone the police, but neither one of us managed to get the registration of the car so I don't know what good that would have done. Thank goodness there are people around who do think of others. 😉♥

Edit: he’s right about the yellow line thing not counting but it’s a technicality in the law and that’s all, the yellow lines are their because it’s unsafe to park there and the broken yellow lines just means they can’t fine you but it’s still unsafe.

What a flipping liar ! Unless there are 'signs' indicating its ok to park on the pavement, its prohibited full stop. Report report report.

It's not prohibited except in London. There's no excuse for it on a road that wide, though.

Two highways offences, parking on double yellow lines and parking on the pavement. There is of course the offence of obstructing a public highway, driving on to a pedestrian highway. Many more offences could be coming their way? Naughty, naughty! 😏

  • @HeinrichDixon

I cannot find a citation for this, but I am sure that about ten years ago the 'faded/uncapped' double yellow lines defence was tested in Court and lost, meaning that all these vehicles ARE parked illegally ON THE ROAD.
Parking on the pavement as a standalone offence only applies in London.
However, if a vehicle is "obstructing" the pavement, that is an offence nation-wide. This includes a vehicle that is not on the pavement at all, but is blocking a dropped curb at a junction.
    🍌🙂

I never understand why anyone parks in that way at all. Quite often I see for examples car transporters outside a dealership parked half on pavement and half on the road and I just don't get why they block both the road and pavement. They are vehicles afterall made for the road not the pavement. As for the VW rep stating the yellow lines are faded that does not exempt anyone for parking on pavement.

Get one car or van towed there would be no more vehicles parked there , try it and see I am a hgv driver gone early morning to make a delivery by 9 or 10 o'clock could not get out because vehicles were blocking the road ,big problem in companies do not provide enough parking on site

Don't wand to park vans on the road in case vans get hit by passing traffic. Person knows that what the company is doing is dangerous but would rather endanger people than vehicles.

Excellent work as always Miss Ace, or should we call you Eileen? Can't help noticing that your subscription rate is climbing very strongly for an Auditor who's only been on the scene for such a short time. Please try to include a bush or two in future.
I'm sure you will have seen the channel 'The J-Town Press' by the irrepressible Miss Lana, and also 'Press NH Now'. The main reason that I subscribe to them is that they supply Police body-cam footage and the results of their Freedom Of Information Act requests regarding whatever particular topic they cover in their posts. They don't rush to upload a video until they have done their research and then have all that stuff to show us.
Mr. ''avoiding the question'' in this video said he had 'permission' from multiple sources and you said you'd be doing a FOIA request of your own to see if it's true. When you've received the relevant information, would it be possible for you to do a re-upload to show us the true situation as to the actual legality of his bullcrap attempted whitewashing?
Please don't be in such a hurry to upload a topic without gathering any extra information beforehand and then including it to show us. As I said, J-Town and Press NH do this to perfection.
Just a thought that you might be willing to take on board.

The police love to read only the bits of law that fit their proposed Offence. For instance you can legally park partially on any kerb, it is only an offence in London, you may be in breach if your parking causes a person to not safely pass by causing an obstruction, they may even desperately try the good old catch all antisocial behaviour by parking anywhere where they could squeeze a conviction. But it’s on dodgy ground. It will cause such a nuisance if the woke squad get their way because a correctly parked vehicle on both sides of some roads will block access to larger vehicles causing grid lock that’s why they are being reticent. But it will come.

if you are struggling to find space to park vans and need to park illegally on the public highway to solve the problem then I suggest you need larger premises and should look at relocating. The tax payer doesn't pay for public footpaths to provide your business with parking space.
