@@Shamballaa I have lived in rural Maharashtra (Raigad district) for several years. And I said it from my personal experience. We have faced lots of discrimination in those regions. But when we moved to Mumbai, everything was fine. Because Mumbai has plethora of diverse population (north India, south India, east India, central India, etc) along with different religions, castes, communities living together. My only point is wherever there are only single type of people living is dominated by a certain community. Eg: You can notice domination of Muslims in mohalla areas (some places in Mumbai), domination of Brahmins in Babhan regions (many rural areas around Pune) domination of Buddhist in Bodhwada areas, Kolis in Koliwada. The most peaceful places are where diversity of people live together (not in separated groups)

On our way to Chennai, our state level basketball team has experienced the worst, drak tonned skinned tall&fat kind of people had harrassed us, by taunting laughing and continuously starting at us even sometimes they tried to touch us inappropriately Even police were terrified when we complained Thank god we found a Bihari guy there who understands their language and guided us to neglect them and translate us in Hindi language, he said they are just teasing us and we don't need to react We were 12 girls of 10th and 12th class and a female Sanskrit teacher among us
