We take our Outback and Forester Touring on Forester and Logging roads, but Never serious off roading.
Our private road to our house is considered a Forest road.
We live in the mountains between Leavenworth and Wenatchee.
We have to put our Subie’s into Xmode just to get up our road and into our garage during our winter months as we get 5-7 feet of snow and have to plow and maintain our road ourselves.
If we’re in our pickup, once we leave the town and start heading further up the mountain, we’ll put our pickup into 4WD.
wow. that just sounds adventurous just to get home. love it!

I just ordered an OBW this past Monday. The dealership told me that by the end of the month I will receive it. I am 60, and I can tell you that I feel like a child waiting for Christmas, lol. I am already planning a trip to the Outer Banks in NC in the summer. I really like your videos and the places you go. Thank you, and many blessings on your journeys.

Hello Billy, thank you for your comment and this is my first Subaru and thus far, no issues with the transmission. And I've never heard of transmission failure with others either but I can't speak for all. If there is a long term Subaru owners out there who can fill us in, that would be great!

Are you rocking spacers on your tires at all? if so, what size? Are you getting any rocks slining onto the side of your car?
hello, No I don't have any spacers and no rocks sliding onto the side of my car either.
I see people.. not just Subaru owners… Jeeps and Tacomas too.. with their vehicles all geared up.. that never venture farther than a Target department store or REI. Ditch lights that never actually shined a light into a ditch in the dark. Hope these folks got to use all their gear on this adventure. Looks like a fun day

@@ChasingAdventuresCO that sounds cool. A few of us did a dirt/farm road midnight ride on dual sport motorcycles. Really brings out the element of alertness.
I should have my OBX in two weeks. Can’t wait. I’ve outgrown the Crosstrek especially when towing motorcycles while loaded with camping gear
@Pennsylvania Dual Sport how exciting! A new car just in time for Xmas. That was the same reason why I just went for the OB instead of the crosstrek. I knew I was going to outgrow it fast.
I would definitely recommend bash plates at least and a healthy dose of engine air filters and cabin filters nature dominates all at the end
@@darthtyranus7683 oh yeah! That and the diff plates were my first add-ons I did. And yes, filters are a must cause after I did this run following behind in the cloud of dust, the filter was nasty. Had to clean them.

I’d like to put a 2” lift on my 19 Forester Touring. Which one would be the best on a budget?
Also what brand of Skid plates would y’all recommend?
I take my Subie on Forester and logging roads, but I’d like to be more adventurous.
My Subie has only 13K miles and I can’t afford to tear it up.
Also what type of auxiliary CVT cooler would you recommend for my Touring?
I haven't touched any of those parts yet so I couldn't recommend any but I am sure someone here with more knowledge then me can answer you.

agree, and I think if the Forester has the turbo charged engine like the OBW, it is more capable car to off road with

Hahaha thankfully, I didn't get any pin stripes as I thought I would. 😅
As much as you like going offroad with your Subaru you should consider getting your vehicle prepped, and then sprayed with Line-X or the equivalent on all your surfaces. It will protect against scratches, etc., and make your car a lot more offroad capable in the fact that you won't worry about gouges in your paint, etc.

Yes. If you search for Subaru groups on FB, there are ton of them.
Still waiting for the, "off road", part. I think you mean "off pavement". Dry/dusty forest roads, just aren't off road. You're pushing my buying decision to the Jeep.
