Does this fit in plane overhead?

Are you sure about the fact that only nine foot rods will fit? Two of my favourite four piece rods are 9 1/2 feet!

Mathematically the the specs suggests you can fit up to 10' rod in this case.

Any chance at all I could fit eight rods? Sounds insane, but I'm facing an international move and don't trust my rods to the mail, the movers, or with TSA checked baggage.
