One of the craziest things that I don’t see anyone talking about is making baby goblins a new tower troop you have to upgrade. Why do they expect us to waste cards and gold on a temporary mode? Not only that, but if you actually want to get as many goblin trophies as you can for whatever reason, then you have to spend 50000 elite wild cards on said tower troop. On a card you’ll NEVER see again.
Uh, when did they say it was a temporary mode? Like I assumed this was permanent

And if that wasn’t bad enough, the baby goblin tower troop is just a reskined princess tower
I can share an incident. There was a bug after the update where you can't unlock the goblin tower troop if your princess troop isn't at the same level as your king tower. There were some posts about this on reddit but many kids instantly upgraded princess tower without waiting for the bug to be fixed. After 2/3 days they fixed the bug.
I assumed the event was temporary but the cards were permanent so is the baby goblins staying or not
I’m surprised how Clash Royale for over a year has consistently remained in poor state but still somehow kept itself above water. That’s impressive for a mobile video game
Because at its core Clash Royale is a really fun game and the road to oblivion is paved with good intentions

High key, the people who complain the most are the people who keep playing and keep giving money. Some of these creators that say things like “game fell off” or “worst state of the game” should put their money where their mouth is and quit the game if they really feel that way.

I called this out a few months back on reddit but the comments were like - skill issue, get good, just quit etc. Even one of my posts was removed. I basically just pointed out their strategy :- release a broken card/evo -> grab $ as much as you can - > nerf it after a few days/months and continue the cycle.

And despite all of this, I remain solid in the game. But, when I finally reach the end, I can go to supercell and tell my entire journey

I've been playing Clash Royale for a while now, and it's sad to say, but the game feels pretty dead. It's all about pay-to-win (P2W) these days. If you don't shell out cash, you can't keep up with the top players who buy their way to victory. It used to be fun and competitive, but now it's just frustrating. The balance is off, and free-to-play players don't stand a chance. It's disappointing to see a game with so much potential go down this path. What do you all think?
I’m playing since it’s launch and haven’t spent a single penny on it so it sucks when you play against people who just bought their way to where you are in the game. And it’s not like it’s rare. At this point, it’s actually more surprising when you match up against someone who hasn’t a payed tower skin.
The most frustrating part of it all is that no one is actually talking about the problems of f2p because all the content creators have to pay to stay relevant. Once you commit to a deck, you have to keep that deck because it takes a ton of time to upgrade them. The biggest problem is gold, clash royale just doesn’t give enough gold. F2p player just can’t stay relevant in the meta. Someone should actually count how long it would take a F2P player to upgrade all their cards to lvl 15. I bet that it would take more than 10 years (with the biggest issues being elite wild cards and in turn, gold)

It looks to me like this is an upper management issue, not developer issue. Devs do not take these kind of decisions - the upper management does and the developers are obligated to execute.
The game is functioning smoothly, the servers are fast and glitches and malfunction is rare, the monetization tactics are not their decisions
Please stop bad naming the devs and turn your anger towards the people who are actually responsible

@@badateverything2931 yeah I mean before drew left he did an interview with CWA and he made it clear that he was passionate about the game and wanted it to thrive; if it was up to him the past updates we got probably wouldn't have turned out the way they did. I'm not saying he's perfect, but clearly things would've been different if the people coming up with these "updates" actually cared about the game's playerbase and longevity instead of sinking it to the ground with P2W bullshit and making everybody furious with their decisions and they're like "oOpS, sOrrY thAt ThE uPdATe wAsn'T gOod EnoUgH hErE's a $50 dOlLaR oFfeR foR yOu tO kEeP yOur mOuThS sHuT". It's so unfortunate what CR has become, a mere husk of its former glorious self.

Its super funny how they let Little Prince be broken for months straight and right before multiple totally accidentally broken cards were released (and a new champion is announced) they coincidentally gave LP his first actually harsh nerf practically since release

I would say it did get a lot of harsh nerfs but it was good that it didn't do that much

I feel like a lot of this stems from supercell balancing the game in such a way that rather than creating a diverse meta where a lot of win conditions have their place, they place one or many cards (new or not) on a pedestal to incentivize money spending on maxing the card, its counters, etc.
In the end that just creates boring metas where you just see the same decks over and over again. It’s really not a healthy way to balance a game.
Even outside of metas it just makes the game feel super predatory to most players. I can’t imagine someone reaching max level on their first deck just for supercell to add a new max level and make their deck obsolete with some new troop or card meta.
this happened to me! i've been playing on and off since 2016, and right before level 15 dropped i finally got my main deck to full level 14. quit the game the moment they released level 15 in the state they did.

nah they need a mode like path of legends where all card levels are made 11 like a friendly battle and bring in 2v2 ladder that'd fix it
@@user-jp7xz2or9hstill doesn't address the actual issue, which is pay2win. New cards and evolutions, that dictate the entire meta, are unobtainable without paying heavily every month. They just need to remove evos, tower troops and make it level 11 across all leagues in PoL, that would actually fix the game.
+ allow everyone to use every card in PoL, like they do in challenges.

yeah there's absolutely no way for f2p players to upgrade goblin machine fully, even if you spend wild cards and books on it, it could get nerfed and become useless

Brawl Stars, the most F2P pvp game from Supercell makes the most amount of money. It's almost like a game that is fun and balanced, can generate money without milking it's players...
and better yet, they literally handed out 5 fucking legendary star drops… for free.

It aint balanced either. They do the same with clash royale. Release a broken brawler in early release and right after its OFFICIALY out they nerf it... Or never do and just leave it destroy the game for people who dont use that brawler. And ofc make everything cost so much gold while removing the best wayto get gold,boxes. So we are forced to slowly grind with underleveled brawlers while the p2p players have everything maxed and beat our asses...
@@rondoudouswag1271 Lily wasn't broken, Draco wasn't broken. For Brawlers like Kit and Larry and Lawrie they nerfed them after all people had the chance go unlock them. So, not the same at all. And when I say balanced, I'm not only talking about the gameplay side.

clash royale needs some helps
they all already did especially when lvl 15 drop but guess what the dev never ever cared about the player
Maybe the loss in revenue recently is not just because the game is dying, but because they keep pushing stupidly expensive offers that no one buys other than the dozen whales. There's a reason people stopped buying season passes when the price was increased and rewards lowered. I think all the damage with evos and tower troops has already been done and I don't see the game getting a comeback like how Brawl Stars had one.
It’s not getting a comeback. They realize the game is dying and trying desperately to increase player counts, but they know it won’t work fully so they are just trying to milk every last penny out of it
Something that no one ever talked about but that got ruined probably permanently in this update is lower arena balance. They basically gave away level 12 goblin cards to players in arena where the average level is like 6 or 7, and where barbarel, log and giant snowball are not available. Furthermore, the prince card, which was already a mid-ladder menace by all metric was buffed to be essentially elite barbarians 2.0, the card is basically impossible to react considering the options available in low ladder. I recently lost my account and I've rarely been this mad about the balance state of the game, I swear goblin gang has like a 95% usage rate even below it's unlocking arena.
Yeah, I created a new account just to get the goblins, they were too good to not have it. And just as you said, everyone and their grannys are using gobling gang, goblin barrel and goblin tunnel machine (levels 10-12). Prince was a nightmare, even more now with that instantaneous charge, buy you can counter it now somehow with goblin gang if the enemy used their arrows.
Yeah trying to play a beatdown deck at 4000 trophies with lv13 goblin barrels being spammed at you is less than fun.
I think they gave up on low/mid areana balance when they added the event shop.
I came back to the game a while back with a new account - it was when Prince was in the event shop.
i got around 50 prince copies from that shop - and i got it to lv 14 while my second highest lv card was 10.

It's crazy that there was always a good path they could've taken, like keeping the old pass, making evos and tower troops way easier to get, level 15 more accessible to everyone. They could've added troop skins or something, anything cosmetics related and people would be way happier, and I bet they would be making way more money than currently aswell.

A game mode where you verse the same deck over and over. Dagger duchess is still OP. All of my level 15 cards got nerfed. All 3 cards released are the top 3 cards in the game. Great update 👍

@@MiningPro41 clash royale stopped posting good updates so around 2018-2020 so as a result players got bored and stopped playing despite the game being f2p friendly
So instead of trying to make good updates to bring back players they just gave up on that and focused on making money

I miss the old clash royale instead of trophy road they put the cards in the challenges and it was really exciting. They killed the game

People don't understand that we don't live in a game. So don't spend money on the games. Games are the companies which are trying to get the money out of your pocket in every way possible. We live in real world, so be in real world, spend money on real physical things if possible. Play the game for a entertainment purpose only and don't compete with people on the games cause it's not real of course. And most importantly, control your mind while spending money online.😊
Yep I’ve played the last seasons this year but recently this season I just haven’t been able to really play as much as I usually do. Getting that burn out so bad that I don’t even want my daily luck drop probably haven’t popped one in 2 weeks. Hopefully we see some changes or something that bring the spark back
they should make that any card will increase goblin queen bar (except maybe spells), thats bring much diverse & fun meta in that mode

And they could also make the new cards count 2x for the queen bar
I feel like they could boost the goblin machine should be a champion card and the rocket could be a 1 elixir ability that has a really fast cooldown.

I’ve played this game for years. The dagger dutchess release was the first time I’ve felt I legitimately couldn’t compete unless I got a card. Seems like we’ve been on that path ever since

Cannot agree more! But I have to point out that many players have more or less noticed this pattern of SC releasing crazy op cards, heros, evos, and tower troops and hoard chests, elite cards, evo shards, and gold or gems to max them out right off the update/balance changes. That might be the main reason CR is earning not as much money even after releasing tons of unbalanced things. Obviously, SC also realized this thing and stopped selling wild cards in the season shop. Not sure how this will go...

I absolutely love CR, came back to the game after years, I mod for Ox and Sweep. With that being said, the dev team needs to communicate with at least 3-5 content creators. Imagine if you had Sweep’s opinion along with someone else with a long history of being a top player along with a player of different competitive style helping to put the updates out, even if it’s just suggestions that they actually listen to.

Hi boss, italian follower here. I don’t play the game anymore but I always find this kind of videos interesting. Just wanted to tell you you’re doing great man! Also in the gym I Guess, your frame is looking a lot wider, you’re becoming a gigachad man!
Something that really upsets me about the game and people are not complaining enough is the specific fact of how hard it is to have a 15 level King Tower. I’ve been playing the game for years and I am nowhere near having a level 15 King Tower. Of course it wasn’t that bad, the only disadvantage regarding other people having more leveled cards than you was that the towers only had more HP and that’s it, you could always use the events tab and it all would be level 11.
But wait… Clash Royale had the brilliant idea of adding 2 evo slots, ah, but only for level 15 players.
It is incredible how much more advantage it gives you in a battle to have just one more evolution than your opponent, and it’s not like the game is fair in the event tab anymore because guess what? Level 15 players are the only ones with 2 evos there too.
It’s just ridiculous how much the game basically makes you to buy their offers because otherwise you’re pretty much going to lose every game you play.

I am SO glad that us as the clash royale community are getting bigger voices to speak on things that clash royale would not listen to from us.
Also, when comparing the Goblin Demolisher and the Giant Skeleton, the giant skeletons bomb is timed, and the goblin demolisher detonation is instant.
I was consistently a top ladder F2P player (never spent a dime on this game) and I quit about a year ago when evolutions first released. It was super obvious evos were a cash grab and just a horrible update bc they gave a free advantage with no drawback (so who wouldn’t play them), and you could only get them with money. I bet anyone would prefer an update such as 2v2 ladder over p2w evos and tower troops where something fun actually changed about the game rather than more overpowered cards f2p players can’t get. And what’s with the 20 offers in the shop page? It’s so clear devs don’t gaf about the player base anymore. Nowadays I rarely open up the game, and when I do it’s to play a triple draft friendly battle game with my friend. No evos, no tower troops, no bs, just all strategy. I used to play this game religiously every day and now I open it once a month max. It’s a shame what happened to the game I loved, and honestly it’s easier now to pretend clash Royale is still in its old glory days rather than what it became- a dead cash grab game.

Problem with clash royale:
1. Its p2w
2. Broken cards and tower troops such as evo, dagger dutches and the new goblin cards
3. The devs barely listen to the community
4. Ridiculous offers
5. Barely any real updates ( and even though they are real updates such the goblin update its still trash )
6. They release broken cards or tower troops and after 1 month or few days after release and get nerfed essentially wasting your money and resources upgrading
The state of clash royale is not good
So much is making almost the same money as Hay Day
They are making a lot offers but nothing is working
i used some book of epics on my pekka and now I have it to level 14 and honestly it is why I think there should be level caps since they used it for the new event
like if I put it down they can't even defend it
So many complaints and, they’re all valid
This is why I switched to brawl stars because they actually listened to the community unlike cash royale
7. They take so long to fix bugs or any mistakes that have been made to player accounts, but as soon as it's an exploit or bug impacting their income...BAM!!! Instantly fixed and players banned immediately.
From what I've seen here, you could sum all of these points up with just the first one. It's greed. That's the problem
I've literally called this out for years now. I'm not sure why this is a surprise to anyone, this is FAR from the first time they've done this
A month ago Morten talked about him playing brawl and enjoying it a lot also told his screen time is way higher in brawl obviously him being a cr legend won't switch that easily but just think about a normal player who wouldn't think twice. Brawl really outdid itself with banger updates every 1.5 months also they listen to the community closely they recently announced to bring back mega boxes for community events also don't let me get started on community events they are probably the best ones out of any supercel games I have ever played.

The goblin thing is ladder except you have to play goblin based decks.
The only reason I kept playing this new goblin mode (and then just stopped) was because they were gatekeeping the new cards, and you know forcing people to play something they don't want isn't an interesting way for engagement. As well as forcing people to upgrade your baby goblins tower troop, something in a temporary challenge that you will never see again. Props to the team for actually trying to make a free-to-play mode for the longest time, even if in the end it utterly failed, and it still amplified my feelings on why I decided to quit the game and uninstall it.
This video sums up perfectly what’s happening. You talked about the most interesting points.
Something really scares me. Part of the reason CoC is making so much right now is their monthly bar events, each with a 6 dollar (i think I forgot) "pass" that just gets you extra rewards. The big reward is Epic Equipment, which besides Giant Gauntlet and maybe Frozen Arrow, none of them are really required on an account (rocket spear, football, and fireball). Goblin Queen's journey might be a play to use a similar system, with the big reward being evolution or even future new cards. I am praying I am just crazed and I did not either predict the future, or get the attention of a lurking supercell employee because forcing F2ps to grind a ladder while the rich buy a 10$ pass to unlock the busted card instantly is the most Supercell thing possible.
Assuming the cards not broken and it was win only mode u grind (losses dont negatively affect you) what's wrong with that?
I just thought about this but they could have monetized star levels themselves. They could have sold each one individually or in packs or something. They could have made it so you get stars the same way you do now but the only way to use the stars is to unlock the skins from the shop or maybe put them inside of the daily shop for gems or you could even put them in the monthly shop.

Brad has been consistent with his honesty with supercell and specifically clash royale due to the fact he is not financially tied to them.
He is THE VOICE of the people.
I learnt my lesson when little prince came out it was the first time I’ve ever used books or magic items on a card I got it up to level 14 and a day later they “emergency” nerfed it after all the offers…. They make broken meta cards on purpose and get a cash squeeze and the problem is that it works.. they only see the money
What Clash needs to add is a 2v2 ranked mode, and personally, I think the ability to buy more talking emotes will open a new monetization path. They need to make banner profiles more noticeable, so people want to flex themselves more and buy more of them.
the fix has to include a switch of the people in charge of the game
Aside from the gameplay itself still being unique for a mobile game, it really feels like all of the charm is gone and the devs are just milking the game for what it's worth before End of Service
All the content creators of supercell games need to unite against the corrupt company and support clash with eric and B-rad for standing against Supercell

Yea they dont care about balance anymore. The balance team is nonexistent. Lets add a card that shoots tiny rockets that does more dmg then a normal rocket!!!! also make him a tank as well!!!. Lets add a tower troop that does every infinitely better and make her legendary to make players pay more and ignore her for a few months until they get a paycheck in the mail.
"Hey look, new shiny toy for you to play with, forget the past 2 years, look NEW!" Kind of update. Play with your toy that you get bored of in 15 minutes to unlock the broken OP cards, or pay us some money

Here's something interesting. That same offer for the level 14 Goblin Machine is only $24.99 in my game. Maybe because I'm almost always free to play. Looks like they're using good 'ol dynamic pricing too
there are diffrent prices per country - even if both of them are the same currency, it doesnt mean they will have to cost the same.

New game modes are pretty sweet as it adds variety but this feels like touchdown where we know this is only temporary. The goblin queen's ability is an interesting aspect that might be seen in the future. However, this is a scary thought as this can be another tower troop in the form of king tower abilities.

The game mode incentivizes buying the new op goblin cards. Once you play above 3000 trophies (where level 15 cards are allowed) trophy progression slows to about 12 per match. Playing this update free to play is a nightmare. Hope the devs don’t get transferred to another supercell title when their cash cow goes under.
Honestly as an average clash royal player (lvl 48, 8000 trophies) who plays a few matches a day this new mode has been very fun and I've actually enjoyed the update. While yea, it might suck that they release unbalanced cards here and there it really at the end of the day when these cards finally gets balanced just adds 3 actually unique cards to the games card pool. When it comes to the goblin demolisher being op, i would like to point out that it is the only cards everyone starts with, and the fact that you don't unlock every single card at the start actually gives me some fun new cards to look forward to unlock once i reach enough trophies. PLUS the trophy road guarantees the unlock of the cards, so most good players who are stacked up with wildcards and or books will be able to max the cards rather quickly.
I agree that making skins or new star levels would be better than what they offer right now. It doesn’t give anyone a competitive advantage so it’s more suited for people who really enjoy the game. Even if the skins are payed it wouldn’t really bother me since once again, it doesn’t give anyone a competitive advantage(this is the same reason why the pay offers for tower skins doesn’t bother me)
For the goblin machine, maybe they could massively nerf its hp so it doesn’t have as much as a skeleton king or a mighty miner and increase the rocket attack time to 5 seconds so it’s easier to take out when mirrored.
As for the goblin curse, maybe remove the amplification damage and make it transmogrify troops into cursed goblins that are more fragile than regular goblins so the princess tower can one shot them. It’s just like there are cursed hogs for the mother witch.
Baby Goblins or Plushie Goblins maybe, like in the Goblin Barrel Evo
The problem is that the devs have dug a really deap hole the last multiple years (maybe before cw2), that these really small steps isnt enough.
Also this update, is just the new gamemode, that is literally just ladder with a new tower troop/ruler. Something that could easily be a challenge (like tochdown)
Only way to fix it is for someone to be in charge and has the guts to make a new ladder without champions or evos. Id kill to go back to those days. I know people spent money upgrading them so it's basically impossible for the game to ever be good again. I miss having to use strategy.

Don't get me wrong, we need people like B-rad to ramp up the outrage and really bring the hammer down on supercell, but we also need people like you that can explain the situation and your feelings more charitably and softly, while still making your dissatisfaction with the game's decisions crystal clear. It can be easier to digest for some people, but it gets the same message across.
Another thing that's flying under the radar; party mode is glitched, it only allows you to use the last deck you used, in party mode, before the update and not your selected deck for any game mode.
Select trophy mode and then select the deck you want. Its not glitched but uses the selected deck on trophy mode.
for me i play clash simply cause i grew with it its the only mobile game ill play as a 20 year old played it since i was 13
Man they really cock tease you by upgrading your cards to level 9 to get you hooked up
And then you end up stuck because of P2W players having all their cards upgraded
You literally end up spending 3 times more gold that what they give you from the "throw the goblin babies" event

Yeah long story short I’m f2p and I was luckily able to push to 3k trophies on goblin queen’s journey, despite my underleveled goblin demolisher and goblin machine, which I’m very proud. Except now, I’ve hit a brick wall and every player I face up there has over-leveled cards + towers compared to me. Level 15 interactions ruin the game. It takes the strategy out and makes games an unnecessary uphill battle, all while the p2w player you’re battling bms and mocks you, knowing full well they have that unfair advantage. It’s so frustrating. I don’t know why the cap is at level 15. It makes it literally impossible for f2p players to effectively climb in the new game mode. I wish the exclusive emote I’m missing was available at 3k, not 3400. I probably won’t ever be able to get it unless some miracle happens. rip. I tried my best. this game is so p2w.

The demolished is totally broken. If it’s played at the bridge you almost can’t do anything to avoid damage, besides play a tower.
Random side note, whenever I watch TH-cam videos I never get a clash royale ad unless it’s on a clash royale TH-cam video which just seems ironic

Its crazy that theres 17 offers they want you to buy in the shop. It makes it impossible to go in the shop to see the emotes, trader and the market. It does need to stop.
Always been a f2p player, but this time i at least bought the gold pass so i wouldnt lose my mind trying to get the goblin machine as all the cards i was using to climb were stuck in level 11
We could simply stop this by just stop paying in this game, if everyone stop paying, they don't do profits but i know you would probably say to me that there still people that gonna pay no matter what

What they need to do is add
Personalities to the troops. Brawl stars brawlers talk and have personalities. That’s why I believe the troops should have voice lines.
