I've got those QS8-S connectors on my harness and batteries too. Cost me about £60 for enough connectors for battery cables, harness, charging cables. Expensive! But they can handle a load of amps and they don't spare. But stiff at first but they loosen up with use.
Recently picked up a second hand 9 speed 27.5" hardtail boardman with hydraulic brakes, the motorcyclist in me likes the look of these kits, i'm assuming 250w plus a decent battery is pretty much all i'd need for some xc/commuting to work (canal tow paths, 5+ miles each way). Quality videos btw, subbed ! :)
Don't be constrained by the bottle carrier fixings, fit your own Rivnuts where you want them, they are easy to fit and you don't need any special tools. You can crush them in place with a nut and bolt.👍
@@DudeStuff most hide the problems they have and make everything look straightforward. I’m building my first bike due to a impending driving ban. Trying to get advice on anything that isn’t 250w on bike forums is a nightmare. Cycling has a higher percentage of self important, woke wankers than anything I’ve ever taken a interest in before.
hi @DudeStuff #DudeStuff excellent choice with the schwalbe super moto x, they are one of the few bike tyres that do have a speed rating which is E50 which is the best you can get for an Ebike, ive been using the schwalbe marathon plus mtb on the rear and a magic mary on the front for a couple of years now, zero flats {touch wood} and surprisingly low rolling resistance but maybe a bit too heavy for your build , can i recommend the Continental MTB DH Downhill Inner Tube again 2 years zero flats {touch wood}, also smart move to upgrade the XT90-S to QS8 they look an amazing connector , really enjoying this series and your channel , thanks for sharing it with us
that magnet looked crazy and the pull from it when u dropped it back in WOW! yep you dont wanna get your fingers trapped in their wen droppin that fcuker in..
Hi Steve, some advice I have a standard steel frame hybrid would it be avisable to put a befang 250w midrange motor built in controller with v brakes .
I use a cheap ixf crankset, it's a 3 by but I only fitted the big sprocket now I can pedal at 28mph but with the standard 32 I was peddling like the six million dollar man at 15mph
Funny you had your own torque arms made Steve, I recently did this on my ebike. Cost me about 12 quid for some stainless 5mm plate from ebay, made 5 arms out of it! Winner!
@Dude Stuff oh yeah man that's not bad at all! I called a couple firms near me and they wanted 60 quid plus, so I got in my workshop and made some instead. Those of yours look great mate!
Really take care while riding this bike when its finish. I probably think it will be the most dangerous bicycle ever made. Take all the protection that you can you (full motorcycle suit) since it could literally be deadly it it breaks down at more than 60mph. I still dont know how you are going to manage to not brake the rear dropout because of such a ridiculous power target. If you manage to have a somewhat "reliable" ish bike (like holding itself up after the run), you are clearely a genius. Can't wait to see the final result
I would love to run a single or a 3 speed on the back but then you a 13 as the smallest, where I think the 7 is a bit of tension and mine are done for a 1000 miles you still get a 11 tooth and it's a big difference, like you have to be over 40 on the front to really notice a difference. Just I save battery and get exercise from it, I can't walk far after a crash but I can peddle 100 miles a week with a little help
Some day maybe I buy you a set of proper Pro allen keys.:-) There are tools as pullers and extractors for stators. Inexpensive. For safer working. Grin, Justin for example shows it in videos.
@DUDESTUFF With this wording of yours your setting up a new level of ebike. There is only one Diy I've seen do 100 miles an hour but it had to have its frame extended and alot of tech on it. Have u caught this vid.
Can someone help me with my e bike. I bought already assembled 1000W 48V e bike from Aliexpress, everything is fine except brakes, So when I changed brakes, I took off rear wheel, and have not make picture and real order pf spacers and washers, now I don't know real order to put them back 😥😟, if someone can help me, I will appreciate

Great content. A review on a cargo bike would be great. Your the man you can do it.
Use a large gear puller to pull apart a hub if needed.
