This is copied from their website: "* Disk clone: AB Standard Edition only supports MBR disk to MBR disk or GPT disk to GPT disk when cloning a disk containing Windows operating system." i don't know why these people just keep giving the creator press like that, he is helping people he cannot control the tools, just stop talking about free not free, why don't you complain about when you are child you eat free at home but when you grew up you can eat free eveyday? I am a user of aomei for 10 years their softwares are easy to handle and useful, aomei is always the one you can rely on.
Hi Maria, the program is free but, from what I heard from other viewers, there are some "limitations". For example, to clone the hard drive, both hard drives need to be either GPT or MBR. You can't clone GPT to MBR or vice-versa. I believe that is the limitation you're facing. You can find on the internet how to do the conversion, but be aware all data is lost when converting. Backup first.
Hi Cornelio, unfortunately looks like that the app developers cut down some functionalities since the video was released and you looks like that now "AB Standard Edition only supports MBR disk to MBR disk when cloning a disk containing Windows operating system." So, to clone GPT to GPT, which is what most people use nowadays even without knowing it, you'd have to use the paid version. I use another software, that is paid, MiniTool Partition Wizard, if you'd like to have a look: www.partitionwizard.com/comparison.html

Hi Hugo, that is quite strange... I've just tested right now with a fresh installation from the internet and it worked. Could you try to go to disk management in Windows and check if you can convert your new SSD to GPT from there? Then give it another go. Thanks.

Hi. No, that should be done automatically. It's actually one of the messages that the application gives you when cloning, that all existing partitions will be overwritten, so that shouldn't be the problem.

AOMEI is not free. Trying hdd to ssd, it does not let you to make partitions for ssd. It asks for pro version. This is not free stop spreading lies.

Aomei is no longer free. Made both disks MBR, still wouldnt allow me to clone. Can't seem to find a free one.

I am tryng to clone my entire system disk wish is gpt to a new ssd, also gpt, however is still asking to update to the paid version.

Its not free - like all HDD to SDD free vids, it's not free. The response from E IT is basically useless - its NOT FREE...
