usb c charging is great...I can use my iphone charger in my car to charge the device. You can buy a 5V 1A 5W small table fan that will run a long time.
The river 3 warranty is 2 years, not 5 years. All of these reviews keep assuming the warranty is still 5 years, but if you look at EcoFlow website under warranty policy, it says 2 years. Although the river 3 has nice upgrades, the one way usb-c and the downgraded warranty make the river 2 seem like a better buy. I do like how the river 3 is smaller though.
Got my River 2 earlier this year and the 12v had the cover. I've used my River 2 for camping this summer and it worked great. Got a 100w Renogy Flexible solar panel as well. Love the fact I can AC charge it in an hour.
So xt60 and xt60i works, but the i special data line is ignored by both river 2 and 3. Something tells me xt60i is more versatile and more expensive. And the solar generator will automatically use the i if present when capable.
for the people who are in Florida who are loosing power for a few days due to the hurricane, mannn these two battery units would be more than enough to run a appliance like a tv and charge phones and could power a starlink satilite internet modem
I recently purchased the River 3 last night. I will primarily use it for a UPS of my IceCo cooler while grocery shopping. I like the Ip54 rating as during bad weather I won’t have to worry about this thing getting wet. Currently I am using a Bluetti EB3A, but it’s a bit clunky, I’m not a fan of the handle, and I’d rather use it indoors for other things in the house during a power outage. The EB3A is way more capable than the River 3, but the River 3 seems more durable and ergonomic, to do what I need it to do.
@@TechMadeEzyI was trying to avoid that. Since Tesla or any electric car needs a steady 12V low current (compare what you posted is quick high current burst for a starter. Electric cars do not have starters so they just new low currents for long periods. So I believe this unit would be ok (maybe be able to lower current si 10A is overkill). I just wish somebody who has a tesla or any other el. car tried it
I agree with you sorry about sending that link you are right but I don't know a solution I think there is a small 12-volt battery in the front maybe you can buy a second one as a backup just in case

Interesting so they made a change after launch, thanks
Same, but it’s not really a cover, but more of a removal plug. When pulled out, it does not hinge or attach back to the unit like the newer design.
@@dave-xe6pc Ya, wish it was attached so it doesn't get lost. I try to place it in the bag I have for all of the solar and charging cables.
Perfect timing. I will be watching shortly. Was considering both. Pd in and out on the river 2 is a big positive for me
Thanks Nathan

The 100w USB-C output is a huge upgrade as it will greatly increase it's usable capacity for it's primary use case, charging a laptop.
I might pick one up to keep as UPS for my TV for the next 10 years. Comes with a backpack too which looks nice as well as a 45w solar panel.

Only the battery pack is IP rated not the power station so be careful
Great product here for versatile uses.
As always you do a fantastic job with these reviews, I really like the looks of the river 3 It is much more esthetically pleasing then the other.
Thank you very much 👍🏼
Can be this used as jumper starter for Tesla (12v lead acid battery) if the 12v battery is dead, so car is dead as well?
No it doesn't have that kind of feature see the video below this is a product that will do that
