Well I just purchased a River 2 Max blind without any research and then instantly worried that I might regret my choice as they aren't cheap here in the uk, after watching your in depth review I know that I can breath a huge sigh of relief! And I'm happy that this power station is absolutely perfect for all my camping needs and also in case of power outages in the home. Your honest real world review has been invaluable in reassuring me that I haven't just wasted £550 haha, many thanks for all the information 😀
Three things stand out for me: 3,000 cycles, 60 minutes charging and the five year warranty. The Bluetti EB70S is also very nice,I prefer its power, but a 3-4 hour charge isn't ideal with rolling blackouts/intermittent power. Plus at the moment only a two year warranty is available. The ideal model is the River 2 Pro but as yet is unavailable. With this mild winter let's hope power outages are fewer. A very detailed, great review.
So happy I found you. I am an avid RV'er and early adopter of all things 12 V and solar, and there is a real lack of knowledge out there unless you really dig. And if you're lucky enough to find it, it's generally complicated. You have a calming tone and a great way of teaching and I'm grateful for your content and style. A new subscriber is born!
Very nice to have you on the channel. I’m very glad you found us. I will tell you I love doing reviews. I don’t know everything, but I make sure I do my research. I love new technology. Also, I’m looking forward to talking to you soon.
This runs my dc fridge for more than 2 days. The test i did was more enough for me to be satisfied. When camping season is in I will use this with my dc fridge and solar.
I've watched many reviews of many different products including this power station in particular. Your approach to reviewing things is probably the easiest to understand and one of the most comprehensive. Thank you very much!
Impressive, with a solar panel connected to it, either the 160 or 220 bifacial it would probably maintain 100% charge until sunset and run the fridge all night. Thank you for your videos.
This will absolutely not run any older model refrigerator. However, this is great information about why modern appliances are more efficient and give us more options like this.

Monterey CA storm coming in tomorrow charging my device. Thank you for doing this it is just me at home so happy with the purchase and explanation. Hoping it will it work with heater and electric blanket. I have a Keurig so won't use that since watching you.
Thank you for this easy to understand info & knowledge you impart 👏🏻 As a woman who doesn't work with this type of equipment often, I now feel comfortable making my purchase decision on this Ecoflow battery backup unit. Thank you so much and I look forward to your other videos 😇🎯
I bought an "old school" peculator to use over a campfire! I also have a few plugs to schedule turning devices on and off such as my heating pad or mini fridge.
Very good video. I like how you explain things for beginners without talking down to them. Great job. I use a battery backup for CPAP and it carried me through all the rolling blackouts that Texas had in February 2021. I am not in the market for the small. I am considering a whole house with a DIY setup or the Delta Max with the 240V hub. I really like what EcoFlow has come out with. I wanted to purchase one back when they were crowdfunding and the delay seemed to be like they would never shop one. Good to see they are no longer up against those issues. Again, great video.
Thank you very much keep in mind a double voltage hub only works with the Delta Pro. I'll put two links below one of them is on the Delta Pro the other one is on the double voltage hub. Fantastic demonstration from start to finish, I’ve just purchased mine so you’ve given me lots of answers to questions, including the ones I hadn’t thought of. Thank you. I’m off to buy the 160w solar panel as opposed to the 220w panel on your recommendation 👌

Thanks TME, Just bought the item and you explained some things which I didn't find in the manual. Investigating to use it as an eps for my pv-panels/converter when blacking out.
Good on your for testing it as an actual UPS for the fridge. Every other channel that shows a fridge, tries to run it like you're plugging in a warm fridge that needs to be cooled down... And then going "Nope! It can't handle it! It overloads!" I'm sure it does... But who would eeever try to completely cool down a fridge with one of these? I very much expect my fridge to already be cold if I need this solar generator to take over if the power goes out...
I know Ecoflow will read this comment. Please update firmware for the Delta 2 to be able to plug two Delta 2s together to not only add battery capacity, but to also allow 240v split phase like its bigger brother the Delta Pro. It would make off grid camping and van life so much better . The Delta Pro at 100lbs is too heavy but two Delta 2s is very manageable. Cmon Ecoflow, you're leaving money on the table here and would really stick it to your competitors like Bluetti or Jackery. 😃
I used mine to power my mini fridge in my semi truck all night woke up around 8am and it still had around 57 percent it’s honestly amazing. Didn’t have to idle the engine all night to keep my fridge running.

Nice review. I saw one of these for sale, and did an impulse buy because the specs looked good. Glad to see your detailed review. You know what you're talking about. I have older chest type freezers that pull about 900w at startup, so I'm not sure I can use it for that, but I do have other applications, and I have a couple of 100w panels not doing anything at the moment, so I think this is a good fit for me.
Wonderful video kid, I'm going to look into ordering one of these little things... I live full time in a 28 ft. 35-year-old camper... This will be a good prep for my little camper
Thank you for a very thorough test. I've been wondering if my Max will be able to accept power from 220w panel. I mainly using it for outdoors specifically for my ice maker which draws around 150-160w. The runtime was around 2-3 hours. With your review i think 220w would be best for me to prolong the battery life on a hot sunny day with nice iced beverages. 😁 Update: Brooklyn makes me subscribed to the channel.
I feel like you made this for me 😆 I am really impressed with this unit. I am so glad I didn't go with the Ostation from Olight or Jackery. Good to know about the accessories, I like the light! I didn't think it would run a fridge that long! I do have a question, if you left this unit plugged into the wall and ran other appliances through the power station, would it be bad for the battery in the power station?
Bro ,thanks good review…5 star. I want this power station for only a refrigerator, full size one forever. Thanks for the increased solar input. I will hook it up to a Canadian 600 watts with an open circuit voltage of 40v and current of 17A . I believe the over paneling is within the capability of the power station.
Great Video. Just bought and have a simple question that may have been answered but I can’t find an answer. Can I use this always plugged in so it acts like a UPS for my computers / internet or would it harm the unit ? Since it theoretically have 3000 cycles how does that work? Every time it lost power it would count as a cycle or what? Our cabin loses power a lot but in short bursts but need consistent power for working remotely with zoom calls and the like Thanks in advance
Hi Keith you can use this as an ups, with a computer there is a chance you can lose an update in a file because it’s not as fast as a true ups so be aware. The newer models coming out are definitely quicker, but they won’t be out until around the end of December. Also keep in mind the unit you’re looking at right now. Does have a small battery so if your power goes out for a computer, it really should be fine for a few hours, but not much longer than that. If you have the budget, I might wanna recommend a Delta 2 it just went on sale for $399 which it normally runs for about 1000. I’m gonna give you a link. What I like about this also as you can buy an ad on battery to make it run longer, and it does have more power. amzn.to/493NSGz
Excellent review... as a European, the thing which blows my mind everytime (and it has little to do with the MAX), is how you need a 1400W coffee maker to make a cup of coffee... We just use a kettle on our gas stove, or (for your research), a BIALETTI using pre-ground coffee beans... definitely BETTER in every way than what a coffee pot maker can do. PURE Italian coffee the way it was meant to be.... Anyway, thanks to your review, I am getting one of these. :-) Superb presentation, clear and easy to understand.
Hi! I have at my OG cabin a delta pro with an extra battery and I keep them charged with solar and my smart generator. Just ordered an Ecoflow river 2 max and will charge it with my new wind turbine. My plan is to help charge the delta pro with it via ac charging. Also wondering if I can simultaneously charge the river max with the delta pro if I get a lot of sun?
Thanks for the review, really appreciate it, the best review I've watched on any powerstation (and I've been watching a lot lately haha). This is available locally in Australia for me to purchase for $1099 but I think I'm settled on the Bluetti AC70 which is on sale at the moment over here for $899. Not sure what portable solar panel I'll pair it with yet, looks like i'll be watching a few more videos! Thanks again from North QLD
Just bought this on Amazon. plus we have champion generator. but this for our internet. we occasionally lose power. not a lot.but we normally lose power for a couple hours.our power company get the power back on quickly. plus we bought these out door solar lights that work great as lamps so we have light .but sometimes waiting for power to come on we have no internet. So this would give access to our streaming apps. that's all
I’ve been meaning to ask, but do you recommend this as a battery backup for a sump pump? Once battery goes out in my current set up, I’m thinking of getting one of these units…
Outstanding video. What percentage do you recommend for these units like Delta Pro, EcoFlow smart batteries, River 2 max , delta 2 to be kept under storage? Thanks
Unless you have a resistive load like a heater, don‘t use X boost. It drops voltage until the power is reduced to 500W. It does not at any time output 1000W. If you use it for devices with a switching power supply (ie computer) or a motor, like a refrigerator, you can do serious damage to the device. It’s best to just leave this “feature” turned off. Also, for maximum battery life set the app to charge at no more than the 2 hr rate (~250W).
@@TechMadeEzy thanks on the review. I am looking to buy ecoflow 2 river pro. Plan is to plug a 150 watt fan and modem . Looking at using it for at least 5 hours. Do you think that a 700kwh ecoflow will suffice? Plan to buy today.
My EcoFlow Ricer 2 Max came with a 110 watt solar panel so I’m guessing based on what you said my 110 solar panel will just take longer to charge my unit. Can I have the solar panel hooked up and use something since it’s only 110 W?
If I understood your question correctly, yes you can use the power station while you’re charging it with solar. Just make sure the battery and the power station has some capacity so the power station itself can provide enough power for what you want to use.
Question... Why do almost all youtube reviewers Say "I'm going to go ahead and..." or "Lets Go Ahead and..." is it so you don't say "uhhmm"? Great Review, but, I just watched 5 others on the same Item, and they all said it multiple times throughout the review...
Can someone please give me a direct link so I can watch the video (which he's probably made by now) comparing the original River with the R-2 series? I already have the original River.
Did you test the UPS mode with a PC? Some youtubers were saying that the River 2 max doesnt work in UPS mode as claimed. That the switch over delay is causing the PC to shutdown. Can you please confirm
Hi they call it EPS because it’s not as fast as a UPS, it’s around 30ms so for a computer it would be slow and you can lose data if the power goes out.
@@TechMadeEzy Thank you for the reply. I heard the river 2 pro a well as the River 2 models have a 15ms delay which is ok for computers. Delta 2 and River 2 max models have longer switch over delay.
Question: how can I plug in my refrigerator and have an extension cord where I can plug it in to the solar powered generator? My refrigerator is very difficult to move.
You need to find out a few things number one what is the normal wattage it will pull and number two does it have any surge wattage, then as long as it meets the River 2 max requirements you should be good. 110v is a US standard but that doesn't tell you much.
@TechMadeEzy Thanks. I would assume my Delta 2 Max will be able to handle electric blanket. Waiting on my Balder power energy usage meter to arrive and will test it for max watts and any power surge to see if it meets within 500 watts of a River 2 Max and the 1000 surge limit
@TechMadeEzy Watched your videos several times before buying Delta 2 max. I'm still unclear though when a person might need to press the reset button in the back and steps.
Hi Amen you can plug one into the other, but it won’t give you more power. It’ll just allow you to have a little more runtime because you’ll be using one to power stuff and the other one will just become a battery.
tbh, i would power up my desktop computer, with moniters, with everything hooked in. its like at least 300 watts or so. i have a backup APC which does 30 to 50 minutes of backup battery, however, i would like to power up the desktop computer for like at least 3 to 6 hours or so. 3 weeks ago. a lightning bolt hit the transformer and i was without power for like 4 hours. the line was severed. this was tuesday afternoon, when heavy rain struck. at least 3 to 6 hours of battery use if that... hopefully i'll get a good answer and what to buy for that :)!
@@TechMadeEzy to be honest, i don't have that kind of cash, if i did have that kind of cash. it would take me like 8 to 10 weeks for me to save up that cash, Thanks ya btw, that is a must have though, since it is expandable. this what you did for the review there. might be doable for me. since it'll be like 2 hours or so on the battery, which is good for me. i do have a laptop computer. and if i do tend to go to bed even with the electricity being out. i'll have like at least 5 to 8 hours or so for the laptop. i think the laptop might be 100 watts. if that. anyways thanks ya :)!
Hi there It won’t run long on this power station because that is a lot of power 400w you might get a little over an hour, but the one thing that you need to check into is what is the surge for the juice blender because if the power surge is more than 1000w well this power station won’t run it at all. How long do you need to run it? And find out the surge rating
can you pls compare this product with this one: Runhood Portable Power Station Rallye 600 . thanks, because it has removable hotswap batteries. but AC ratio efficiency is about 61 percent which is maybe too much loss energy while using this device. Thanks
This is 500w so no it won’t,before you think about buying a power station you need to know the surge wattage also that’s important. With wattage like that you might need a delta 2 or maybe to be extra safe a delta 2 max links for videos are below Delta 2 th-cam.com/video/tvdsITwG_OQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Pi4bebDYFCnX87r2 Delta 2. @Ncharlestun I understand but definitely buy something that meets your needs that's good for phones maybe laptops, the battery is really small you're not going to get much run time
That Delta 2 Max looked great. I don't have a definite need for any products right away. Just learning about the car camping techniques and strategies. I have subscribed to you, thank you. @@TechMadeEzy
It will use the ac if it’s connected that way but if ac power is lost it will take about 30ms or more to switch over so be careful with sensitive electronics like computers
You said (5:20) that there is a problem with keeping the battery for 100% for a long time. So using this device only as UPS for my PC will destroy the battery quickly ? (UPS is always connected to grid so battery is almost always 100% full)
@@TechMadeEzy you're absolutely correct. When I bought the River Pro, I kinda forgot the specs on the other River models. Now I'm wishing I had waited for the River 2 models.
You and I wouldn’t know that since we aren’t experts in electricity. I recommend looking at the EcoFlow manual to get some insight. You can also email EcoFlow. Support@ecoflow.com P.S. I always admit when I don’t know everything 😎
It depends on how much wattage it requires, the battery is small in the unit to make it portable, maybe look at the delta 2, see this link th-cam.com/video/tvdsITwG_OQ/w-d-xo.html
I don’t think so, but you would definitely need to know the wattage and any type of surge. Also, the battery in this unit is small so even if it could, it would only run it for a very short time.
My expansion battery of my RIVER pro stays on and palpating. Update the firmware as the manufacturer says. But it continues with the same palpating. If you know how to reset it. you send me the comment. thank you ATT RAYMOND Quinones

What I like about this also as you can buy an ad on battery to make it run longer, and it does have more power. amzn.to/493NSGz
Thanks! Ordered this too!
@keithrobertson8545 that is a super good deal, I’ve never seen that price so low
Thank you
The reason why I like this power station is that it has a 3000 charge cycle which does mean it would work for around 10 years before it loses power.
Magic job well done I got 1 today not sure where to get solar pan from I’m in uk
Thanks Darren let me know how it goes
great source for data . planning on getting one for camping
Thank you Alex stay in touch. Let me know if you have any questions. I’d be glad to help.
Really don't understand why Ecoflow dropped the light. It's minimal cost yet is a very functional feature depending on the use-case. Come on Ecoflow!
Sure you can plug it into the pro
This is an amazingly informative video. Your answered all my questions. Thank you so much!
Thank you
Thanks for the review, really appreciate it, the best review I've watched on any powerstation (and I've been watching a lot lately haha).
Thank you so much and yes the AC70 is nice as well.
So this would give access to our streaming apps. that's all
It’s good to have something to be prepared, enjoy your new power station 👍🏼
Has anyone ever told you you sound exactly like Howard Stern lol great video. Thanks.
Yup and thank you
I’ve been meaning to ask, but do you recommend this as a battery backup for a sump pump? Once battery goes out in my current set up, I’m thinking of getting one of these units…
For how long would you need to run it and you want to know the wattage and The Surge wattage
Outstanding video. What percentage do you recommend for these units like Delta Pro, EcoFlow smart batteries, River 2 max , delta 2 to be kept under storage? Thanks
Hi thank you 👍🏻 How long?
Just Subed up. thanks you for making things easier to understand, how long do you think you can run a 12v 15 Lt car refrigerator?
Hi thanks, you know the wattage it takes or the amps?
@@TechMadeEzy 55w, thanks you for getting back 👌
Billy without knowing if there is a surge in your device or the power needed when the refrigerator compressor kicks in I’d say 6-8 hours .
I really wish someone would do a capacity test to see actual battery capacity on the River 2 Max.
Very good review. Comprehensive..
Thank you
@@TechMadeEzy thanks on the review. I am looking to buy ecoflow 2 river pro. Plan is to plug a 150 watt fan and modem . Looking at using it for at least 5 hours. Do you think that a 700kwh ecoflow will suffice? Plan to buy today.
700wh i mean
I would recommend picking up the Delta 2 since it’s expandable and you can add a battery. It’s $459 now usually $999 great deal amzn.to/4ezfmF3
Terrific review and instruction
Thanks so much Tom
How did you connect the wifi router, TV, security cameras, and fan to the Ecoflow in tue test?
I connected it to the outlet with an extension cable in the video I showed it
Question... Why do almost all youtube reviewers Say "I'm going to go ahead and..." or "Lets Go Ahead and..." is it so you don't say "uhhmm"? Great Review, but, I just watched 5 others on the same Item, and they all said it multiple times throughout the review...
Did you test the refrigerator with xboost on or off?
Off
Thank you!! Tons of info in this video!
Thanks
Can someone please give me a direct link so I can watch the video (which he's probably made by now) comparing the original River with the R-2 series? I already have the original River.
Hi here is a link to our EcoFlow reviews you will find those link in here

@atorbtech here is our River 2 comparison

Question: how can I plug in my refrigerator and have an extension cord where I can plug it in to the solar powered generator? My refrigerator is very difficult to move.
Hi, why can’t you put the device next to your refrigerator and plug it in? Are you charging via solar ?
Which button is the iot button trying to hookup via phone?
No iot button just download the EcoFlow app
Can the River 2 Max handle a 110 volt electric blanket? I bought a Sunbeam electric blanket that has 12 temperature levels.
Delta 2 max is a beast
@TechMadeEzy Watched your videos several times before buying Delta 2 max. I'm still unclear though when a person might need to press the reset button in the back and steps.
@bon3906 maybe because you might be selling it to somebody, but you can also unbind it on the app
Can I use two (2) ecoflow river 2 max together to make more power unit ?????
Hi Amen you can plug one into the other, but it won’t give you more power. It’ll just allow you to have a little more runtime because you’ll be using one to power stuff and the other one will just become a battery.
just plug it into itself. infinite power !
tbh, i would power up my desktop computer, with moniters, with everything hooked in. its like at least 300 watts or so. i have a backup APC which does 30 to 50 minutes of backup battery, however, i would like to power up the desktop computer for like at least 3 to 6 hours or so.
I’d get this but you might want to grab the option listed below with the extra battery then you’ll be more than fine
amzn.to/3OeZP3e
This might help for about 3 hours and you can use solar at some point to recharge to be able to use longer ?

I have 400 Watt juicer blender mixer ...how long will it run for ?
noob here in terms of understanding electric power consumption.
Hi there
It won’t run long on this power station because that is a lot of power 400w you might get a little over an hour, but the one thing that you need to check into is what is the surge for the juice blender because if the power surge is more than 1000w well this power station won’t run it at all.
Thanks
Can’t promise but good idea
I haven't heard anything about a Sump Pump on any of these, that's why I bought a Eco flow River 2 Max does anyone know if it will power a Sump Pump
You just need to know the wattage it requires and any surge
For SUV camping heat, will this power a full size Delonghi 1500 watt oil radiator heater set at the 700 watt minimum heat level? If so, for how long?
This is 500w so no it won’t,before you think about buying a power station you need to know the surge wattage also that’s important. With wattage like that you might need a delta 2 or maybe to be extra safe a delta 2 max links for videos are below

Thank you, The River 2 Max was on sale at Sam's Club for $339 on 1/19/24. It might still be on sale for a few weeks. They had two on the shelf. Pretty good deal. I want to try some car camping in my Mazda CX5 SUV to avoid hotel costs.@@TechMadeEzy
@Ncharlestun My pleasure
does use the battery inside if are connected whit the ac or does bypass the inner battery
I would check with EcoFlow to be sure.
Anything round can do the same as the dot and a lot cheaper. Just put it in the solar panel.
Love this!
U should recharge it solar then use it. If u charged with ur own power that doesn't mean saving.
Yup 👍🏼 th-cam.com/video/Kq2Tfla6CHs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=aldK1VZa6taNfa88
Previous River Max was not LFP, but it was 720Wh.
That’s the River pro 720Wh plus the optional battery
@@TechMadeEzy you're absolutely correct. When I bought the River Pro, I kinda forgot the specs on the other River models. Now I'm wishing I had waited for the River 2 models.
Has anyone ever told you your voice sound like the the doctor on mash 😂 great vidio review
Thanks David
Alan alda?
Looking to Run the furnace heat the house.
Need the wattage and any type of surge to see if it will work.
How do you know if an appliance is x boost compatible?
You and I wouldn’t know that since we aren’t experts in electricity. I recommend looking at the EcoFlow manual to get some insight. You can also email EcoFlow.
Support@ecoflow.com
P.S. I always admit when I don’t know everything 😎
what beats this river 2 max?
A ton of power stations out there, delta 2 would be the one I would choose but you can wait for the River 2 pro coming soon

@@TechMadeEzy i have a question can I keep a Bluetooth wire less boos 1 s pro speaker going with one of those? Wattage 150
Not long at all. See the video I included some examples based on wattage
@@TechMadeEzy what about charging it with out playing
It depends on how much wattage it requires, the battery is small in the unit to make it portable, maybe look at the delta 2, see this link th-cam.com/video/tvdsITwG_OQ/w-d-xo.html
Do you think it will run a small window unit
I don’t think so, but you would definitely need to know the wattage and any type of surge. Also, the battery in this unit is small so even if it could, it would only run it for a very short time.
Ty
Can I charge a Efoil battery with the powerstation?
If you can plug it in and it’s under the rated power output it probably can but then it also depends on the efoil battery capacity.
excellent review 👍👍
How do I get it to pair with iPhone?
Download the EcoFlow app and make sure Bluetooth is on, the app will find it
This is hardly a "medium" sized power station. Medium would be in the 1khw range. This is a SMALL compact power station every day, all day.
My expansion battery of my RIVER pro stays on and palpating. Update the firmware as the manufacturer says. But it continues with the same palpating. If you know how to reset it. you send me the comment. thank you ATT RAYMOND Quinones
