    Great video Adrian,if that cow was paying the Esb bill she wouldn't be so quick to be turning on and off the lights. Love the simple yet effective fix in the parlour, great job.
    Ibc tank would be a good plan but as others have commented it needs to be secured to your forks 👍

    Another great video Adrian. I only power washed my parlour out a fortnight ago, even though I never thought of using the foam gun on it. As I always say, milking is the only job on the farm that brings money in, every other job brings money out! So it’s the utmost importance to have the milking facilities clean and maintained properly.
    Very wise advice too on the fertiliser. The health is definitely the wealth.

    Regarding the 'working cage' on the front loader - make sure you have a chain that prevents sudden tipping if the hydraulics fail. Used exactly this idea nearly 30 years ago and it worked well.

      @@IFarmWeFarm Further info: the cage was a blunt triangle shape for squeezing between branches as we pollarded trees. Side half gate with lock catch and a basket internally each side for chainsaws (or any tools). Project's getting bigger 😁

Regards the rope issue, it's blue nylon rope . Get a quality hemp rope, itll last you 10 years easy. Good to ya. It's good idea with the ibc tank cage.
    The problem with having them on the forks is that they can wiggle a little.
    A custom made with attachment to the loader is a lot sturdier.

  • @davidtitcombe4686
    @davidtitcombe4686 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    We used to have a similar problem when I was a herdsman. We had barns without stalls and almost every year had a cow who had had torn or cut a year off. We had a little compliment that went up into the milk duct and once fitted milk from the damaged quarter would run freely until the bag was empty.

    Hi. Regarding the ropes on the cashman feeders. What we find is if you put a bit of oil on the rope where its running on the pully. I find it helps them to last. Great video. Also if ya fold up a bit of steel over the light switch to protect them. Keep up the good work 👏

    They do use those cages - some use them to put calves in to transport them to a different area of the farm - they do chain the cage to the folks upright arms so it doesn't slip off when a person is working in it just for safety

    Great video as always Adrian, regards those switches, i can see you have armoured cable but i would still have them higher up the wall so the cows carnt reach them, same with the plug for the radio, just a bit too low for my liking, cows have all day to play with them and could end up getting a belt off them if they managed to pull the wires out.

    P.S. Just a thought about your cage for work at height please have a look at your insurance implications as this item will come under work at height regulations.
    If anything happens God forbid your insurance company would be looking for prove of at least annual inspections and any repairs carried out which were recommended during the inspections etc etc. The fully speced cage needs locks to secure it to the forks, a gate to access and a fully functioning lock. You can see the insurance company problems multiplying from there!

    Be careful with the cage Adrian, any man ride here needs to be loler tested every 6 months, and it will need to be a plated cage with all it various specifications, check up on it as the insurance will walk away, could that cow may be have licked the front off the switch first might be worth fitting a shield to stop the cows being able to reach them there is something therapeutic about jet washing don't know what it is, or is that just me, great to see your videos Adrian keep up the good, stay lucky
