  • Join us on Day 2 of our Ha Giang Loop Vietnam Adventure, where we braved the rain and drove through the stunning Ma Pi Leng Pass, known for its abrupt cliffs and breathtaking views. At an altitude of 2,000 meters, it's one of the most spectacular passes of the entire loop. Despite the cloudy and rainy weather, the views of rice terraces and mountains were still spectacular. This was definitely the best day for views on our 3-day tour.
We also drove through bumpy roads, narrow streets with no barriers, and took long breaks waiting for construction. Along the way, we passed through rural villages, getting a glimpse of local life. Our homestay on Day 2 was in Du Gia Village, where we had a family feast, drank lots of happy water (a distilled rice wine), and danced the night away with new friends.
We decided to book an easy rider tour with Cheers Hostel instead of renting a motorbike on our own. This not only supported the local community but also gave us a chance to meet new people and allowed Daniel to relax and enjoy the views on these challenging roads. Check out the link below to book your own Ha Giang Loop Tour with Cheers Hostel.

Note: Most tourists pronounce Ha Giang incorrectly, including us in this video (we are so sorry about that). It was not until later that we learned the proper pronunciation is not how it’s written but instead “Ha Zhung”.

I've seen the drone shots when it was greener after the rice fields have grown a bit more. I heard in the fall, the rice fields are golden and it's another spectacular time to see the Ha Giang Loop.

Thank you for great content so that more people can have good information about an amazing location. Small suggestion: use device with better stability capability for smoother clip (flycam scene in this is beautiful actually). Looking forward to good clip from the lovely couple.

Omg that looks amazing! Is this all your own footage? Do you use a drone for the landscape shots? So incredible!

Yes it’s all our own footage. 😀We have a drone that Daniel flies. I’m still too scared to fly it. 😅 The views on Day 2 of this motorbike loop were some of the best we’ve ever seen! It was truly incredible !

I visited the Ha Giang Loop 7 years ago and only passed a hand full of tourists over the 4 days and now it seems to be completely overrun with tourists. So sad to see such a beautiful experience ruined by herds of tourists 😔

It has definitely become more popular in recent years but in our opinion it’s still a great experience! We did not feel like it was too overcrowded and we were still able to enjoy the stunning views and homestays in the villages.
