@@luongo7886 haha it’s very true, we usually would be but we had been travelling Central America, India and Thailand for the last 6 months previously and didn’t have the right clothes with us to wrap up warm 😅
Great thumbnail! Loved the Gopro shots from the bike. They worked well speeded up with music. So much was happening on screen. Fun to see the deterioration in your hair through the day until the joy of hot food and a nice bed! The perfect advertisement for that experience. Being a nerd for a moment, I would have enjoyed a few facts and figures, times, distances and a map! Great stuff though, a change from your cosy NZ flat life!
@@KatTurner even without fancy editing, you'll find low-tech ways to enhance the storytelling. You might show a paper map, then zoom out to reveal a location. Print (or simply sketch!) a mini portrait of you both and blu-tack it on the map or physically push it along a route. Sometlmes public clocks or even wristwatches are handy to punctuate a sequence, especially if you can develop the shot to include something else (you, your food the location). Road signs are always good for thumbnails and selfies. Looking forward to the next ones!
Hi Kat! Thanks for sharing your experience, really cool videos, congrats!!! I’m travelling to Vietnam next summer and I’m planning to do the ha giang loop, but I’ve never been taken on a motorcycle. Is it very scary? Did you feel safe at all time? I would hate to ruin the experience because of that. Thanks a lot and again, congrats for your videos, I really enjoyed them! 😊
Hi Cristina, no problem at all! Thanks for watching ☺️ I had never been on a motorbike either and I was nervous but after the first hour or so on the bike I felt totally safe. The drivers are so experienced and the only accidents I have heard of/seen happen when people are driving themselves. So you should be totally fine. Lots of people wore body pads too to protect them just in case.
Hay, I'm planning on going south to north next June solo for my 50th birthday. This is definitely on my bucket list. I've driven a moped for 7 years so really thinking of doing it by myself. What months did you travel for it to be so cold?
Thank you very much for the video . I would like to ask some questions , what is the cost of the trip , does the price include the hotel and food , and do they allow tourists to drive bikes when they do not have a drivers license issued in vietnam ?
@@KatTurner What time of the year are you doing this trip in 2023? We are going to Vietnam end Aug/most of Sept this year and plan on doing the Ha Giang Loop trip like you
@@KatTurner Thank you. You did have some nicer sunny weather on part II video I see. Views look amazing. I share a healthy concern for the roads and other drivers on that tour, but hoping the tour drivers, being experienced, are sensible and careful. Thank you! We can’t wait to go…😊
@@lisastrong6780 yes we did! Day 2 was lovely blue skies and sun but still cold in the shade. The weather didn’t ruin it at all though, it was still amazing. And yes, from our experience the drivers are so experienced and know what they’re doing ☺️
Just came back from ha giang. One of my best experiences❤️
It’s so amazing isn’t it 😊 thanks for watching!
Exciting stuff for the brave!
So cold though: aargh!
SO cold but SO WORTH IT! Xxx
@@KatTurner Really? I thought you Europeans, Canadians and Americans would fit right at home considering you come from cold climates, no?

Such an amazing experience! And definitely one of your best videos yet.
Thank you billy!!

Thanks! I’m hoping to do a course on using a slightly better editing software some time this year so I can do better stuff with sped up footage etc.
And hopefully I can learn how to add animations and things in like the map journey too - that would have been great!

Wow sounds great! This was beginning of December x
@KatTurner maybe warmer in June then 😊. I'm just watching the 2nd part x
What camera did you use? Going this September!
I used a mixture of my go pro 10 & canon g7x || ☺️ have the best time!
What was the tour company that you used?
Hi 👋 we went through Jasmine Hostel - it’s a very popular hostel in Ha Giang that run these tours themselves. Hope that’s helpful!
You need to educate the Vietnamese not to throw garbage everywhere.

I can’t actually remember exactly how much we paid, but for what it was, it was really good value. All the food and accommodation is included 😊
What time of year is this? Trying to judge clothes to bring
Hey! Thanks for watching 😊 very excited for you if you’re doing this soon! This was in November x
@@KatTurner ok cool, cheers kat! I'm doing it in August. I've heard it's amazing

@@KatTurner hello how are you
That was scary watching you on the bikes. 😂
Haha it was scary being on them!! Thanks for watching Jane! X
Never knew it got cold in Vietnam .. was under the assumption that it was humid and jungle. was this the North..
Me neither! We were severely underprepared for the cold haha - yes it was in the north, right at the top. 😊
