    Thank you so much. I kept having the issue of errors in my kdp manuscript upload (I've done them before, but not using affinity publisher). My dumb self was exporting all spreads instead of all pages 🤦‍♂ Watching your video made me realize that.

    How easy could this be? Thank you for this video. I write, ghost write, and do layouts for clients. I found Affinity Publisher nearly 2 years ago just as it launched and love what it does, especially for the cost. I now have all three and need to learn more about how to create good covers that compete with what is out there from larger publishers. If you have some of these videos, I'd love to see them. You do well in the way that you instruct, taking the right amount of time to let someone follow along. I appreciate that very much!!

    Great video. You have made Publisher much more user friendly. Since this was just the basics, would you be willing to make a video showing how to bring in images and place text around them or other more complex things? Thanks

    Gr8 video, and just what I needed. Thank you.
    New to this even though I bought all 3 when it 1st launched. I just knew I would benefit by having them. So I have played around with them. Managed to create some images but don't really remember how I did them 🤔.
    I will definitely be following you and looking out for your other videos.
    Would u kindly consider a couple of suggestions please?
    1. I find the black n white screen very difficult to work with myself and even more so when watching videos.
    V small and v challenging to follow the mouse. So would u plse take a look at using the Grey screen. I only recently discovered it, and has made things so much less if a strain on my eyes.
    2. This is about the speed of the movement of the mouse.
    I think it is difficult when u know what u r doing and where u want to go, to move at a speed that newbies can follow u.
    It is easier to follow it on the grey screen, but I hve very little idea of where things r and what I'm looking for so a slower speed wud help a lot.
    I wonder too if there is an option to use a bigger size mouse and even a different colour.
    That wud b great especially for those teaching.
    I know the company is open to suggestions so I might find out how to make that suggestion.
    N maybe u wud too, if u think it's a useful idea.
    Thanks again for your video and look forward to the others you spoke of. 👌🏻😊

    I dragged out the Table to 42 but then when i tried to delete I couldn't, so i just dragged to 21, then I extended the 21 to the bottom of the page with the Move Tool, and everything looks fine...so far..xx

    HI Kerie, when asked if your book is a bleed or not ...does that just mean your interior or both interior AND cover? for what if your cover is a bleed and the interior is not?

    • @DreamCreativeBee
      @DreamCreativeBee  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If asking for bleed that is just your interior. Interiors can be bleed or no bleed but cover always have bleed hope that helps.

    • @DreamCreativeBee
      @DreamCreativeBee  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it is! Although I probably change the inner margin to a minimum of 0.5, maybe as large as 0.75 to allow for writing near to the spine.

    • @DreamCreativeBee
      @DreamCreativeBee  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Glad it was helpful! You do the exact same thing in the video. Then you export as PDF ready for them to upload that to their digital app like Good Notes and One Notes. Remember you need to add links etc.

    • @norascove
      @norascove 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DreamCreativeBee Thank you!! I should have said to be printed. I think it’s the bleed line but I didn’t want a full square around each just on the corners.

    • @DreamCreativeBee
      @DreamCreativeBee  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Noras Cove I think you mean that you want like tick box squares at the beginning of the line or end of the line. If that was the case and I was using tables. I would have 3 columns. The first column would have all the borders select and be the small square. The second column would have only the left side border selected and be the smallest width as I would be using that for the space between the tick box square and the line to write on. The third column would only have the bottom border selected and be longer in width than the others. Also I would add an extra row in between to give a space.
      I think it would probably be quicker with using shapes rather that 3 column tables.
      If I don't want bleed I would keep everything in the margin.
      Hope that helps. I can create a video to show you what I mean.

    Which one you recommend affinity publisher or affinity designer??? For KDP

    • @DreamCreativeBee
      @DreamCreativeBee  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question but not simple to answer. I think if you are creating more coloring books and activity books then affinity designer would be my choice as you can use artboards as your pages. However if you are creating planners and diaries then affinity publisher would be my first choice. If I could only choose one it would be affinity designer.

    Thank you so much for this! One question.. I'm having a hard time with my pages looking centered on KDP. I have all of my margins set to .375 in Publisher, and everything clicks into the center. However, when I upload it to KDP, it isn't centered and it's driving me crazy! Any tips?? Thanks so much!

    • @DreamCreativeBee
      @DreamCreativeBee  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I bet it is driving you nuts.
      I would actually increase your inner margin to at least 0.5. That way it should move your content further to the edge making it look more centred. Which will create an optical illusion and also give your customers more space to write in when they are near the gutter of the book (aka inner margin).
      Hope that helps.

    I hit Ctrl+W and it doesn't get rid of anything. I'm asked if I want to save my changes and then it will close the project?! Also, when you are getting rid of the borders, you say something like "you go here and select this", but despite watching that part over and over, I can't see where you "go here" nor what you selected. Totally lost me. I was so thrilled to get the table up with the lines as I'm brand new to affinity publisher, but I guess I need to figure it out somehow.

    • @DreamCreativeBee
      @DreamCreativeBee  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry for the delayed response. So pleased that you have created your tables and making progress. Affinity publisher is such as powerful program and a good tool to have.
      On a Mac, it is Ctrl + W, if you are a Windows user if you go to view and Preview Mode it should give you the shortcut key that gives you the option to remove all your guides, etc.
      *"Also, when you are getting rid of the borders, you say something like "you go here and select this"*". I select the Thumbnail of the page where I want to get rid of the master and then right click on the thumbnail and select clear master.
      Hope this helps.

    Thanks for this video. I just got affinity designer so I'm learning how to use it. Do you think that by having affinity designer, you don't need to use Canva if you use creative fabrica for all your graphics and designs? I'm trying to see which software is best to use to create my books. Thanks for sharing.

    • @DreamCreativeBee
      @DreamCreativeBee  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You still need to compile your book. Affinity Designer is great for creating and editing images, creating covers, creating tables for logbooks and journals but only one page at a time. You can't do 120 pages in Affinity Designer in one go or compile 120. So you can create your images etc and then either use Canva, Google Slides, Keynote, PowerPoint or Affinity Publisher to create the whole book.
      I hope I explained it clearly.
