Whoever was packing your rig needs to take another packing course. Looked like line twists on like 5 of those jumps.
Thank you all for this great video. It really helped to put into perspective the flight path and movements :)
Great stuff man! You've done really well. I'm doing my AFF at the end of this month and your video is making me dribble now ;)
Blue skies!!
Awesome mate, me and a friend are booked in for next summer AFF. Bring on the BASE
Same here. However when they teach you exactly how the parachute works you do get more comfortable, not much can go wrong as long as you stick to the rules. But yeah, youtube "skydiving" and you mostly get bad openings, near death experiences or worse. the way I see it, there's a much greater chance of me getting killed by some idiot driver on the way to the dropzone :)
I see improvement in every jump!!!....great job instructors!!!!@@
I'm a born again noob jumper. My last jump was over 25 years ago, 28,000ft HALO jump. But my first jump civilian style went very well! The rigs are very updated and I do have some new things to learn but my instructor actually released me for a few seconds . When we landed, I was closer to the target than him!!. He said there's somethings that your body and brain just don't forget!!!
adrenalina pura tu mente se libera de todo lo que la quiere encarcelar.
Man, such an inspiration to watch your video! :D Good Job! :D
thanks buddy, means a lot, did my best :)
Great video, and amazing scenery! I wish I could have had my AFF levels filmed. I need to repeat AFF5, so they will film that one for me, so I can't wait for that. Well done to you and 'BLUE SKIES' from Australia. ;-)
Kezza Kat cheers, I'm sure AFF5 will go great second time around :) blue skies to you to!
Wow that's awesome! Helped me prepare for mine, doing level 2 Sunday!!
Super video. Jako dobro ste pokazali kako uz vrhunske instruktore i dobar nacin ucenja dodjete vrlo brzo do odlicnih rezultata. Pozdrav iz Zagreba
hvala sosed :) se mogoče vidimo v zraku, pozdrav nazaj
awesome, that was a good training video for people just starting.
cheers mate, glad to hear it :) I did one tanden jump prior to my AFF, just to see if I had any issues with skydiving, then straight to the course. did 3 hours of indoor afterwards, agreed it's much easier to do the course with some tunnel training but it's really not necessary, most people here just do the AFF straight away. best of luck to you!
first time ive watched this,,Fabulous my friend absolutely Fabulous,, i was smiling for you when you did that 7th Jump, my adrenaline was nearly through the roof when you grabbed for the rip cord TWICE lol,,take a Bow
nice and stable that video was great I love watching other peoples success. good job!!!!
cheers mate :) enjoy it, it only gets better with time ;)
Kudos to the student! But I would like to prise both instructors! They look so professional: they observed their student and were sharp 100%. That the proclamation of the AFF method. Blue Sky to all.
Amazing video mate, can't wait to be doing my training !
+PepinoMichoacan thanks :) enjoy it buddy!
What a breathtaking scenery! I've go to visit this dz! ;)
Those front and back flips looked solid. I am starting my AFF (if the damn winds would calm down) soon, I hope I can make them look as easy as you did. Thanks for posting your video.
+Bryan J thank you for the kind words :) it's easier than it looks. best of luck to you, enjoy it, blue skies
Great video. Something I'm definitely considering if I find the money. Loved my 2 tandem jumps.
cheers buddy. a must do if you ever have an extra grand lying around ;)
Awesome video. Very inspiring
awesome video! I did my level 1 yesterday, and hoping to do a few levels today!! I would say it's scary at first, lots of information to remember but once I was up there, everything went smooth! have fun
thanks buddy. that's exactly it, once you're up there things usually go better than expected. enjoy it mate, blue skies
Simple and nice video...its helping. Good job bro!
thanks a lot mate, means a lot :) glad you liked it.
Great AFF illustration video.Things happen very fast on my tandem jump,I'll do another and then decide on starting the AFF course .You sure looked relaxed up there !
I may look relaxed but I assure you that was not the case :) glad you liked it
Cool! I hope to pass AFF course this summer.
amazing much appreciated
Nice video. A few twists on opening on a couple of those 🤘I was jumping at Lesce in 2012 and every year up to 2014, when I retired from jumping. I still keep in touch with Tomaz and Kaja when visiting now.
Cheers :) yeah body position was pretty shit when opening, I guess packing was rushed as well. I'm pretty sure I watched a couple of your videos when starting out, definitely remember thinking odd name to be jumping at Lesce :)
Tilen Rondaij Ha ha, for sure, not many Brits jump in Slovenia. I spend pretty much all my spare time there, based out of Kranjska Gora and I stopped full time jumping in the early 2000’s and only got up when I was in Slovenia, either at Lesce or Bovec. My last jump in 2014 was with my daughter, then aged 13, who did a tandem with my friend Matjaz Pristavec and I videoed - great way to round off 41 years of skydiving. The video is on my YT channel 😊
thanks mate :) it is amazing, I promise you that :)
Wow amazing your a natural. I just passed level 3 and nervous of level 4. You look like u did it with ease. Well done! X
thanks :) if I look like I'm not nervous it's probably because you can't see my face very well :) enjoy the rest of your course!
Tilen Rondaij thanks mate.... still a real freshie so proper nervous!! X
Outstanding dude! Your level 3-4 looked better than most peoples final jumps i've watched. Nice music choice too, (fall) to pieces haha...
Wilderness Medic thanks a million buddy, means a lot. and yeah the music was kind of themed, couldn't help myself ;)
Tilen Rondaij Right on, what jump are you on now? I'm just on 20. Drop zone around here is pretty small and slow to get jumps in.
Great jumps, going through it right now myself
careful, it's addictive ;) one of the best experiences ever, enjoy it! :)
totally awesome man...hope that next year I join to jumpers too..it´s amazing :)
Very Dedicated AFF Instructors, Looks Safe
indeed, national 4way champions, very professional and safe yet lots of fun anyway. would recommend them to anyone
Great post! I've tandemed three times and probably am going to do a couple more before I start AFF. I'm really nervous about not having anyone attached to me. Hopefully I get over it. Cheers!
Going to Spain in 2 weeks to do my AFF course...gulp, reality is setting in now! Can't wait.
wicked, enjoy it mate! you'll do great, everyone does in the end.
I know, A licence now baby=]
So awesome!!
awesome indeed, love it. cheers buddy
exelente video!!
Belle vidéo !!Le premier moyen mais très bien pour le dernier !!! Bravo....
love it this is flying will do it.
Good job man, you did much better than I what I did with my AFF.
cheers buddy :)
have done any indoor skydiving yet?
Hehe, so I've been told! But I am still looking forward to it :)
Really like this one
As my instructor said - "If you notice me doing something- I'm obviously not that good of an instructor, am I?" ;)
Blue skies mate ;)
Nice progression! Keep at it, go get that license!!
Slovenia looks beautiful...
thanks mate, means a lot. and yes, Slovenia is gorgeous, makes going up a bit less boring :)
Nice video, I shared your enjoyment. I have just finished AFF course so now onto 9 consol jumps, already done 1, then Canopy 1 & 2 Handling and then A and B ” licence ground school... have fun... the sky is a playground.
cheers buddy. reckon all those courses are a very good idea. enjoy, blue skies to you
amazing, glad it helped :)
seen so many of those I thought I'd return the favour :) cheers mate
Nice video man. I started skydiving lessons but never completed. I think its time to start back up again.
cheers buddy. likewise, didn't get my licence yet, got stuck about half way.
Superb :))
Insane, my hands sweat as I watched this.
just once, thought about going straight to AFF but decided on a tandem jump just in case (I know a few people who had trouble equalizing during freefall + wanted to make sure I still wanted it after trying it)
still one of my favorites!!
spwb2k thnx mate!
Nice job, great jumps. Congrats!
cheers mate :)
Can't wait till I start my AFF! Just need a little more money for it :)
Damn you look solid out there. Hoping to start the program soon.
+SICnessJJ1 cheers mate, was pretty impressed with myself as well haha ;) enjoy it buddy!
That was a great video and just amazing how well you progressed after each jump If someone like me who wanted to get into this sport would it be best to do maybe a couple of tandem jumps and go find like a indoor skydiving and learn to control my body in that enviroment then take the AFF course???
congrats on your AFF :) I think this is just a personal choice (although I could be mistaken and it's actually a regulation). they probably just want to make sure you're as stable as possible when opening. I didn't mind at all, I hardly noticed it at the time.
Bit random but must have watched this video hundreds of times when you first posted it 10 or so years ago. It was originally set to to ‘Learn to fly’ by a band called the Foo Fighters..who i’d never heard of. Finally saw them live last night and even got a wave from Dave Grohl when got to the front of stage. All because i did my AFF watching your videos years ago ! Weird eh.
All the best from near Stonehenge, England. N
A very lovely fact, thanks for sharing! Yeah, years ago a certain famous rock band decided I can't use their music anymore so I had to improvise. Wanted to do a different edit and reupload but by then it reached well over 100.000 views so would be a shame. Sadly the youtube video editor can only do so much. Glad someone found the video useful enough to decide to do the course. Am a Foo Fighters fan myself, sadly never seen them live but I guess you're never too old to go to a rock show. Anyway, thanks for the comment, have yourself a great day.
nicely done !!!
jimday666 cheers buddy :)
great video! Have you done any tunnel time before the first jump?
Freaking amazing. I have to save money for this summer. I want to start skydiving so bad, and the time is ticking. I am 33 already and haven't done anything even remotely this exciting.
haha I know the feeling. it's maybe a bit expensive, but hey, all sports are. btw that's the best age to get into these sorts of things imo, you need a cool head when skydiving. and you've probably got more money than 10 yrs ago anyway. don't think too much about it, do it and enjoy :)
Don't ever let yourself get caught wishing you had... you can't take it with you! I have dedicated probably more than my wife thinks I should have... but now have my pilots license, scuba cert, and starting to look at the class A skydiving cert... life is about the experience! NO REGRETS!
Excellent video fella, you looked really relaxed and at ease. I'm looking at doing my AFF full course. Getting the bug after doing two static line jumps last month. You doing much jumping now?
cheers buddy. do it, way better than static line. not jumping nearly as much as I should, still aiming for my licence though. I'll get there eventually :) enjoy yourself mate, blue skies
Okay thanks I'm so doing this did you always want to do this and what steps did you do to do this thanks
bravo je te féjlicite
Thanks, so after the 7th jump can you go on your own or do you go on your own when you feel comfortable?
Awesome
Thanks! :)
Good job...
Hello I want to do the AFF sky diving course by the end of this year ?
Which country , institute and time of the year ( weather ) is best suited ?
Anyone thinking of doing this just sign up and deal with it later. I remember watching this dreaming and now i've just earned my solo certificate. Dreams do come true
Agreed, great one :) even though I quit way before my a licence, I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
Tilen Rondaij can I ask why you gave it up?
@@MarijuanaCanada honestly I haven't quite given up on it yet, but main reasons were: expensive, scary and the fact that it takes up a whole day for about 3 minutes of freefall and 10 minutes of flying.
Hi! Thanks for the video. Just wondering how many times you tandem jumped before doing the AFF course?
Hello!
I just comleted my AFF course jumps a few days ago.
I have a quick question: Did the instructors explain to you why they had to hold you during every parachute opening up until the 6th jump)?
Was it a personal progression thing, for the instructor's own assurance or a sort of a regulation?
Here, in Bulgaria the guys at the DZ do it a bit differently - the instructors let you open your chute on your own (2nd jump and on) and only interfere if necessary or in an emergency.
You go on your own after the 7th level, though the instructors must always be present on the drop zone til you get your licence. you could pay for a coach jump after the AFF (just another jump with your instructor), but almost nobody does that as you're now capable to go up on your own (plus you get more than 3 solo jumps for the price :)
amazing! If I pass the medical check tomorrow ill probably do the AFF starting next Thursday. but 3 years ago I twice dislocated my left shoulder, even though I haven't felt it be weak in 2 years there's still a chance they won't let me pass the medical check. im praying they will tho I want to tho this so so so bad
Awesome video. Found this very inspiring as I will be doing mine next year. Any short pieces of advice you could give me? XD
glad you liked it mate :) can't really offer you any advice your instructors won't already give you, except maybe spend a few minutes in a wind tunnel if you have the chance and if it's not too pricey for you (I didn't). after lets say 30 min you're able to stay stable and fly in all directions with ease, I imagine the course would be a lot easier and enjoyable (though obviously it can be done without, but sometimes people have to repeat a level which isn't cheap). most of all, enjoy it, blue skies buddy
love it
cheers mate
thanks mate
Awesome Video man, i did my first tandem jump last summer and really want to complete my AFF also. How long did it take you to complete all 7 levels?
cheer mate :) I did it in 7 jumps, took me a month (4 days, 3 weekends to be precise). sad to say everything went a lot slower after that, I urge you to get your licence asap :) enjoy
Super smooth progression champ like a pro ;) how many you got under your belt now?
cheers buddy :) sadly it's quite pricey so got stuck at about 20.
Looks like fun.
+Jack Westmoreland it is fun. expensive, but fun.
haha me neither, apparently some people do tho. it's a muscle memory thing I guess, you don't really have time to fumble for the pilot chute.
Fantastic. Ive tandem jumped recently and my new drop zone pals want me to take an AFF course. I think I want me to also. !! Cheers from California
Cheers mate. I think you should do it as well :) awesome experience, probably the most amazing thing you'll ever do. enjoy it buddy
Tilen Rondaij
well bro you make it look easy, although i know it isnt. and the Slovenian countryside is very cool. arch arch arch.
yeah it's beautiful indeed, there's nothing like a scenic ascent over the Alps. and yes I had a bit of an arching "problem" that pretty much got fixed once I hit the wind tunnel for a couple of hours, highly recommended.
Good job.
Thanks mate
Do you think you should do a tandem jump before this because I feel like I would freeze up but this is my dream
I did a tandem jump before my AFF for more or less the same reason. I didn't regret it. I do know lots of people who did more tandem jumps before the AFF and I know some who did none and went straight to AFF. It's up to you :)
Hey bro, great stuff. Just a question, when you practiced in the wind tunnel, did you need someone to teach you? or did you just go and try to get used to the feeling and learned alone? Appreciate if you'd answer asap :) thanks
+Tilen Rondaij thanks for the promt reply! Actually, I was asking because here they offer two types of classes, they are both supervised and have a coach with you, but you have to pay much more for the one where he actually teaches you. I was wondering if this is a sort of 'practise makes perfect' thing where the more u train the better u become without rly the need of someone teaching u every little step.
I'd say that later on (say after the first 30 min to an hour of tunnel time) it's practice makes perfect, until then I'd recommend someone flying with you. Especially the first 10 minutes can be tricky, it helps having someone physically correct your movements, leg and body position etc.
did you hard land on any level?...I did my level 2 and I had a hard land on my butt...Kind of scared to do the rest.
haha good one :) btw nice jumps yourself!
Jacob Cogbill glad you think so mate, cheers!
No worries. I will be doing the same thing next summer if I save up enough. As we say in Liverpool. Looks like you are having a BOSS time mate! Love it when I am inspired by cool folk.
looking forward to my next jump
Great vid !! Did you had a little line twist at 6:00 ?
Thanks :) indeed, two line twists, another one at 5:08. no big deal, with a 270 sqft canopy I had all the time in the world to untwist myself :)
Hello;
The way you have teach sky Diving is one of the best classes I have ever experience over the internet. I am located in the U.S., I am interested to go there and learn with you guys. What is the states and address, I want to fly there and learn, thanks
Respectfully; Andy
did you get any malfunctions ? it looks like the risers are crossed when you deployed a few times?
+jj smith that's just a line twist, probably due to bad body position when opening, not a big deal at all with canopies this big (these were all still 270 i believe). opens normally, some kicking to untwist it and you're good to go :)
Heya what's the name of the first song? Well done btw I wouldn't have the guys to even do a tandem
it's Learn to fly by the Foo Fighters. and thanks :)
Hey i start my lesson next week im a little nervous ive been watching ur video like 100 times a day to knw what to expect. How long or how many days did it take you to go thru lesson 1-7? THANKS
AJ Gomez I'm currently still busy with my AFF course. I took a week vacation to finish it all within that week, but I got spinning problems at my level 4 and 5 jumps. So I delayed my AFF and went to a wind tunnel to practice on my posture and such. (Videos of it all are on my channel) Ever since I did that, I'm trying to complete my level 6 and 7 jumps, but bad weather is being a bitch every weekend for 3 weeks in a row now. :(
Either way, here in The Netherlands the total course costs about 1200 Euro and exists out of 1 day ground course, and then the 7 jumps that you can plan for yourself. It depends on how well you do and how exhausting it is for you. If everything goes well, you could do up to 3 jumps a day, meaning you could complete the entire AFF course in 4 days, of which 1 day theory and 3 days to jump.
AJ Gomez Well like Nicknero said, you can do them as quickly as you'd like. I did mine in a month altogether, mostly 2 per day, which was exciting enough for me (plus I got really tired at first, I wasn't really used to using those muscles, arching the lower back and all). Took me a month because we did jumps during weekends, the weather wasn't always perfect etc. If the conditions are favourable, you could to them all in a few days.
Hope you're already well on your way buddy, blue skies :)
I did a tandem for my bachelor party. Been wanting to go back ever since. You can't really describe freefall to others who haven't skydived it's literally divine. However youtube has put the weird bug in my head about twisted lines second shoots, bad spins etc.. I always think of the worst.
Zynthesis Same here. I just done my first tandem last month. Had such an amazing time and wanna go further. But my mind keeps jumping to those “what if’s”, too.
im looking to do the aff courses. ive done a tandemjump before, but im kinda scared to jump alone. Were you scared for those first jumps of the aff?
+Jonas De Roover (JonasDR) scared as fuck. still were after 20 jumps. I guess there must be something wrong with you if you're not the least bit afraid when jumping out of a perfectly good airplane :) it's amazing, enjoy it
+Tilen Rondaij that makes me feel better, thanks :D!
+Jonas De Roover (JonasDR) Scared shittles aswell. Palms sweaty, asking myself why am I doing this, brain switching on all possible warnings ... haha. Stupid brain. :D But when u jump you just let go. The body probably thinks it will die and just gives up :P
How old do you have to be to do a course? and what standers do you need? like ncea and shit like that
TheSimpleGamer - HD money indeed :) also basic safety requirements for medical fitness, which means more money ;)
Tilen Rondaij When you get the A license can you rent skydiving equipment from your DZ?
+Scorpian472 we can rent from out skydiving club for as long as we want. but sooner or later you settle on a canopy size and will probably buy your own.
