Dont scale to 102% when you scale do it by double the pixels only and dont play with wireless controllers they dont go with the snes clock nice review 😁
Good review! No CRT means no SuperScope games! Oh well I think the world can handle that. I'm glad they provided a gamma boost option for the scanlines. Sometimes I wonder if what we said about the scanlines in our Nt MINI review made them provide one. Also I'm finding myself playing Super Turrican more often than I otherwise would because it's always RIGHT THERE and it's a good game to test stuff with. Plus the amazing music.
On Analogue's twitter account they said they are working on an adapter from the HDMI port to the same port on the NT Mini that supports RGB/Component/Composite. They said price should be reasonable, no lag, and the light gun will work. Still being developed though but they teased it for this and their future consoles.
Thank you! I'll have to mess around more with the gamma boost (and a lot of other things) for sure. And maybe! How does it feel to have crazy influence?! haha. I wish Super Turrican was in my life YEARS ago, it rules!
Youko Aoshi - 100% agreed! The 16-bit era things just got weird because they were trying to "innovate" the light guns when they didn't need to... I guess.
@Brian I would luv to know if that would work with a rasp-pi3.hdmi port. Ive been using a retrotink for component to CRT tv,but that thing was like 100 bucks .
Great video Erin. One thing about the scaliness is that they look way better and more authentic when you set the resolution to 720P. 1080P just doesn't look right with them.
Very excited about this! I had the Retron 5, hated is and sold it after a few months. Bought and currently own the Retro Freak. It's ok, but it's still extremely obvious that it's software emulation, and input lag is pretty bad for precision games. I just placed an order for the Super NT and will be ditching the Retro Freak, as I've been waiting for a proper hardware clone of the SNES that's compatible with modern displays. I used to run a SNES through RBG scart to a Sony PVM until the PVM kicked it and an expensive cap kit was needed to revive it. I tried the Framemeister for a bit, but the input lag was too much. I don't get hardly any lag on my pi 3 b+ with Retropie, so I'll probably keep that around for games that I absolutely need savestates for to maintain my sanity (Battletoads series).
Thanks for this great video. I really admire your love of games as it reminds me of how mine used to be and it keeps me in the loop. This console is really a technical marvel as it is actually playing the games without using Nintendo's patented design. Keep up the good work and I hope you get to the 4k monetization subscriber level soon.
Awesome review Erin! Was cool to see you try the different options and settings of the Super NT. Hope to see you use this system to stream sometime in the future. Congrats surpassing 3K subscribers as well. 👍🎮
Jose that she throwed away the retron 5 was the best part, i got nothing against emulation aslong it’s good and reliable, but the retron 5 was fraggle .
Great review and it looks to be a very nice unit. I wasn’t that interested in it as I have the SNES Mini and can potentially hack that and play most of the games, but then you mentioned about the Super Gameboy. I really like being able to play Gameboy games on my Super Famicom and this would make a really good way to continue to do that but on a modern screen. Might have to look into getting one later in the year.
If you get a HD CRT or a CRT with YPbPr inputs (the red, blue, and green component cables you find at Wally World) and HDMI-to-component adapter, you should be fine. If the CRT has those YPbPr inputs, make sure it's a regular SD CRT. And that's if you play light gun games. Those light guns won't work on a modern HDTV, not even on HD CRTs, because of the pattern of the electron beam and the exact timing standard of the tube technology.
I’m so torn on color. I ordered black but am second guessing it. I watched primarily to see shots of the console, and was pleasantly surprised with everything else! Nice video!
Another excellent video! Quality on the system seems fantastic, really neat that it handles the Super Game Boy. That X-ray filter is horrifying though!
Just one item of constructive criticism: You seem to only possess one type of dimension as an on-camera personality. It would be beneficial to have a range of different tones, attitudes, and rhetoric as an on-camera personality.
Got the Analogue Super Nt (black color, it was the only color they were still accepting pre-orders for as the other three colors are all sold out when I placed my order last month) today, cannot wait to try it out! Sure came in fast from Analogue shipping it out last Friday coming in to Canada.
Great review and entertaining! I probably will never get anything like this. Because I am content to play on my original consoles on my Sony 61" projection TV. Anyway subscribed and I will check out your other videos here and there
Omg! That pic with Killer Instinct 😮 Thats the whole reason I ordered the black one aswell. And also, a girl who plays Killer Instinct 😍 you must break up or divorce who ever your with and marry me now! 💚
Throws the Retron 5 over her shoulder like a boss ha. Good review, you sold me on it. Good selection on games, I had all of them since a kid except for Sailor Moon & Star Wars.
One thing I wish it had very much, is an NTSC filter. I'd love to capture the exact look of what playing these games on an old TV was really like. Scanlines are something I never saw when I was a kid, but that classic color bleed was a big part of my childhood. It actually kinda added to the look of old NES and Super NES games. (Also, why do Game Boy games start without sound? That will frustrate and confuse people who don't see that coming!)
I'm probably not explaining this super duper accurately, but, the Super Game Boy cart gets in the way of the actual Game Boy cart, if that makes any sense.
Oh man. The Power Rangers tunes are a good pick for showing off the audio, especially as the Super nt handles audio samples well. One of my favourite snes soundtracks, but I mentioned that on twitter to you already. I really want one of these but seen shipping costs outside the US are a bit insane. Would be nice to replace using my Retron 5 for recording snes games with this though. Like, that thing does what it's meant to but it's not great. The Super nt seems to handle everything so well and those scaling options are excellent.
Yes, PR has such a great soundtrack! And I totally remember you mentioning that on Twitter :) Hopefully the Retron is working okay for you for the time being!
Erin Plays Yeah it's been fine. First one I got died in a week and they sent me a new one which has been fine for over 2 years now. It's not ideal but I can't go back to composite. Plus it is a real space saver.
Dude awesome video! Gets me pumped for mine! I pre ordered a few days ago so mine is shipping out March 1st! Analogue is killing it! You killed it in this video! Cheers! Subbed :D
Since you're into retro games, I'm sure you'd like "Super Mario Bros. Crossover", I know it's not console (it's online flash) but it is a fantastic retro experience, easy to stream too
I never had any issues with Yoshi's Island on the Retron 5. What problems are there? Does this console have those slight black bars on the top and bottom on the screen during gameplay, or is that just how the captured footage looks?
Sometimes emulator systems can't handle games that have the Super FX chip (slow down, etc.) And the black bars are just from how it was captured and I didn't do a tight enough editing job, ha. Thanks for watching!
I got 100% on Yoshi's Island on the Retron 5 and never experienced any issues with it. I know Castlevania III has issues too, but for the most part, that played fine as well. Every now and then it would glitch out, but all I had to do was reset the game and reload my save file and it would be fine. It only did it when I turned the system on, but even then it didn't happen often. And my friend has the same exact capture equipment that I do, and he gets those slight bars on the top and bottom of his footage and I don't. i always forget until I wanna use our 2-player footage in a video and hafta crop it down to match my footage. Drives me nuts, ha ha!
I really like the idea of the Super Nt. Mix of all the random features of software emulators, but on an actual, reliable, system finally. Me thinks this little system going to become the standard issue Let's Players device for SNES/Super Famicom.
You need to pull that SNES apart and get whatever is rattling around in there out. Edit: From my experience, you can't sync the 2.4g 8bitdo controllers to the Switch.
Fantastic review, Erin! I would like to clarify one thing though. These new 8bitdo controllers are 2.4 GHz and require the dongle to work. So they aren't compatible with PCs, Raspberry Pi, or anything else that doesn't have an SNES controller. The older 8bitdo controllers are Bluetooth though. I don't want anyone to buy one thinking they are something they aren't!
Really liked the review. It was direct, quirky, and was to the point. I also love your let's play layout. It's very clean, and is easy to look at! -Matt
I can't wait for my Super NT Mini to come in (I got in on the 2nd wave). This will nicely complement the AVS that I have. As always, thank you for the video, Erin! I appreciate all of the thought and work that you put into all of your videos. You're honest and true to yourself, and that's what many people (including myself) find most admirable about both you and your channel. Granted, I know that you just crossed the 3,000 sub mark, and that your channel has always been great (there's always room for improvement), but I must honestly say that the content on your channel has greatly improved, ever since you started this channel, let alone since I've discovered it. Remember, though, that Analogue will be making a DAC, a separate accessory, which converts HDMI to Analog, so that it will be possible to play this console on a CRT. Moreover, Analogue has addressed that this accessory will cost less than $100. Once you get the situation with the Genesis sorted out, you'll attract more of the Sega crowd, too. Analogue has already heavily hinted that they will be making (and that they may currently be working on) an FPGA clone console for the Sega Genesis. Keep doing what you're doing (Take chances, but don't go too crazy (or controversial), nor do something that's completely out-of-character for you), and you'll have another boom of subscribers. I caught your channel, at a relatively early stage, and so I was fortunate to be one of the classic EP subscribers (Plus, the other people on this channel are great (I hope that it makes you feel content that some "TH-cam friendships" have started because of this channel, especially in the live streams (For instance, me and Shawn, and our food conversations, and what-not))). Make connections with other gamers on TH-cam, perhaps some co-ops, in the future. Even sometimes, show your dog in more of these videos to win over the dog people (not in every single video, but in some videos for a couple of seconds, sure), or even for the co-ops, from time to time, with some of your regular friends. To attract a somewhat older demographic, break out the Atari 2600 or the Master System (If you have a Genesis Everdrive, then you can play Master System roms, as well). You'll have an even greater wave of more subscribers, in no time. Don't worry. It's great to see that we now have an FPGA clone console for the Super Nintendo that's not shit. A justice that it rightfully so deserves, being one of the greatest consoles ever made (dare I say, THE greatest). I'm sure that Killer Instinct and games that use any of the special chips (such as Yoshi's Island or Star Fox), look dope af, on this console, too. Sorry for the long-windedness, but these are my kind thoughts and suggestions for improving an already great channel. Keep up the good work! P.S.: I am glad that your OG SNES hasn't discolored and turned piss-yellow. I was just wondering. Does your OG SNES have that annoying-ass RF box, or the more convenient A/V cables?
Thanks so much for all of your support, Herb! Yes, that's very cool that they announced the HDMI to analog accessory. And believe me, once I get my set up fully in order I will be doing A LOT of different things when it comes to other systems (genesis, intellivision, etc.) The SNES I held up in this video actually isn't my original one. My original one is totally yellow but I love it, ha. And then I also have the later released "mini" one. It has the A/V cables. Thanks again!
I don’t even see a reason to consider an Everdrive or FXPak Pro, when I use it with an emulation device anyways. In that case, I can skip the hardware thing altogether and just use an emulator on my PC.
Alright while I'm not going to say that the retron 5 is a great system, at best I will say its an affordable way of getting a lot of games working on a HD TV without shelling out a lot of money with some trade offs. But COME ON! the super game boy doesn't NEED to work, its got the port up top! Did you really need the super gameboy borders and jitter associated with the super gameboy that badly?
I'd recommend getting the Game Boy add on for the Game Cube and playing your games that way, but as of now, I believe the Retron 5 is the only clone system that plays those. So I mean, it's definitely a solution but it's possible there will be lag etc.
You can get rid of that white border around your gameplay b-roll footage by increasing SCALE of the footage to 102% in FCPX. Good review!
I’ll definitely have to try that! I need to mess around with some settings more for sure. And thank you SO much for checking out my video!
Metal Jesus in here is just Epic :), Erin I will love to do a collaboration with you about some retro games :)
Dont scale to 102% when you scale do it by double the pixels only and dont play with wireless controllers they dont go with the snes clock nice review 😁
Try artemios suite to move the setting you will fine the best for you tv there
When you add el gato upscalers etc is just a mess and alot of work metal jesus dont record his gameplays properly for example
Good review! No CRT means no SuperScope games! Oh well I think the world can handle that. I'm glad they provided a gamma boost option for the scanlines. Also I'm finding myself playing Super Turrican more often than I otherwise would because it's always RIGHT THERE and it's a good game to test stuff with. Plus the amazing music.
Game Sack I feel like light gun games fell off quality wise during the 16 bit era so no big loss there. 8 bit and 32 bit is where its at for those!
On Analogue's twitter account they said they are working on an adapter from the HDMI port to the same port on the NT Mini that supports RGB/Component/Composite. They said price should be reasonable, no lag, and the light gun will work. Still being developed though but they teased it for this and their future consoles.

I love that you are able to use the original SNES controllers. Nothing beats the original controller feel.
Great video Erin. One thing about the scaliness is that they look way better and more authentic when you set the resolution to 720P. 1080P just doesn't look right with them.

Thank you so much for the kind words and support. And yes, it really is a fantastic system. So glad it exists!
I wish Nintendo would reissue a bunch of SNES game carts.
Awesome review Erin! Was cool to see you try the different options and settings of the Super NT. Hope to see you use this system to stream sometime in the future. Congrats surpassing 3K subscribers as well. 👍🎮
Oh I'll for sure be using this thing for streams and future videos :) Thanks so much!
Jose that she throwed away the retron 5 was the best part, i got nothing against emulation aslong it’s good and reliable, but the retron 5 was fraggle .
FYI, Kevtris recommends keeping gamma boost on for proper output of brightness levels.
I'll definitely have to mess with the settings more. Thanks for watching!
Awesome review, got one of these from the store and waiting for it to ship :P
1:18 "As you probably know, I do love my Yoshi's Island."
ErinPlays Yoshi's Island Part 1 is the Up Next video on my suggestions.
Looks like a great system! I'd get it if I had the space, which is why I use my Retron 5.
Knuckles Channel 3 & Knuckles I just got my Retron 5 too... haven’t opened it yet.
just ordered one I am so hype to play some of my wrestling games lol
Looks really good. Thanks for your thoughts and opinions as well as going through the features on this system.
Thanks for watching!
Awesome video Erin, I Kinda want one now haha!!
Thanks for the cool vid! Looks like a decent piece of kit, may have to give it a try ☺
I need some livestream ASAP. Having withdrawals girl. 😊
I’ll be back very soon! I’d stream WAY more often if I could!
That does look like a really nice system. Kind of tempted to sell my backup SNES console and pick up one of those to save on space and get HDMI.
Hi, does It reads even PAL cartridges? Thanks
Just stumbled upon your channel (love your various NES and SNES let's plays) well done! The clear Super NT looks great.
Great video as usual! Still sticking with my hd retrovision component cables but am tempted to purchase.
Great review and it looks to be a very nice unit.
I wasn’t that interested in it as I have the SNES Mini and can potentially hack that and play most of the games, but then you mentioned about the Super Gameboy. Yes, the Super Game Boy compatibility is very cool! Thanks for watching :)
I got the same color. Pre-order the red/blue SG, can’t wait!
Is it only for game cartridges? Do they

Great Review Erin!!! Just keep loving you more and more!
Glad to see you aren't driving while reviewing. =)
Hope you get a chance to try out Plok.
Haha, I have my limits! :) And yes, I totally will at some point. It somehow never made its way onto my radar until recently.
sweet got the black one too getting mines tomorrow
I’m so torn on color. I ordered black but am second guessing it. I watched primarily to see shots of the console, and was pleasantly surprised with everything else! Nice video!
Great review! Cool personality and good content... you have a new sub out of me!
Thank you!
Another excellent video! Quality on the system seems fantastic, really neat that it handles the Super Game Boy. That X-ray filter is horrifying though!
Wow great review -- I didn't know it kicked up the audio quality quite that much, and I totally want one now!!
I got mine on friday and I'm super happy with it :-)
Dude! Erin! Cinemassacre liked your video!!😃😁
So glad I found this video in Cinemassacre's liked videos.
Yeah great video! But have you guys noticed how cute she is? Subscribed!
Can all minis play cartridge games, or is that unique to the SNES Mini?
Nice review! I'm really tempted by this but I'm waiting on the Polymega to see if that pans out because it'd be more cost efficient for me.
Love your work!
Thank you!
Love how you put on Power Rangers for showcasing the sound quality! One of the sickest OST's on SNES! :D
will the Super Retro Advance Adapter work with this system?
Not sure, sorry.
I can't wait for mine!
Just one item of constructive criticism: You seem to only possess one type of dimension as an on-camera personality. It would be beneficial to have a range of different tones, attitudes, and rhetoric as an on-camera personality.
Great video! The black Super Nt looks damn good. I couldn’t decide between black and Super Famicom but ended up going SF for the nostalgia : )
Got the Analogue Super Nt (black color, it was the only color they were still accepting pre-orders for as the other three colors are all sold out when I placed my order last month) today, cannot wait to try it out! Sure came in fast from Analogue shipping it out last Friday coming in to Canada.
SupermanKalL that’s awesome!
Great review and entertaining! I probably will never get anything like this. Because I am content to play on my original consoles on my Sony 61" projection TV. Anyway subscribed and I will check out your other videos here and there
Thank you!
No problem. :)
Enjoyed it ... Can we please see some Super Turrican game play ..I would love it! thanks
Yeah maybe at some point! I definitely like what I played of it so far. Thanks for watching!
Man that Power rangers game has so much time sunk into it!
Erin Plays With Herself
Intimidation I would have gone AVGN on that Retron 5, and thrown it against the wall.
and shit on it to give it "the nerd's seal of disapproval..."
Awesome video, fantastic channel! Subscribed :)
Reading the comments for this video is like seeing all of my favorite retro gaming channels all hanging out together. So cool.
ERIN! I know you;re busy but we miss live stream! xD
I'll be back soon! I miss everyone in the chat :)

I would listen to literally anything you want to geek out over.
Nice device and review. Makes me really think about getting one!

Moon prism power makeup! Love sailor moon! Lol
Very great and informative video. May have to consider picking one up in the future.
Dude awesome video! Gets me pumped for mine! I pre ordered a few days ago so mine is shipping out March 1st! Analogue is killing it! You killed it in this video! Cheers! Subbed :D
Does this support Pal games?
Yup :)
4:27 you put all the parts like i would put them... marry me!
NO WAY! Then it must be meant to be! haha. Thanks for watching :)
Been watching for a little bit now (since we both got featured by Slopes), first time commenter. Great little video :) Keep up the cool content!
Hey there fellow Slopes friend :) Thanks so much for the support!
I’m not normally into console reviews, but I really enjoyed this, Erin. Nice work.
Since you're into retro games, I'm sure you'd like "Super Mario Bros. Crossover", I know it's not console (it's online flash) but it is a fantastic retro experience, easy to stream too
Someone mentioned this to me a few months ago and I completely forgot about it. I'll have to check it out, sounds awesome.
Erin plays..alot with the select+down settings lol You showcased on of my fav games ever Killer Instinct..nice taste! lol
Killer Instinct doesn't get enough love! :)
I agree! I don't like the new version on xboxone though.
Wow, I want one of these.
Great and quick review. Subscribed :)
I never had any issues with Yoshi's Island on the Retron 5. What problems are there? Does this console have those slight black bars on the top and bottom on the screen during gameplay, or is that just how the captured footage looks?

Nice that you got a black one, that's the same one I got too.
Is it just me or is camera focusing more on the background than you?
Nice vid,pre-order this week, what is the best everdrive to get for this console?
Thank you! The Super EverDrive or even the SD2SNES should be fine. The Stone Age Gamer site has a few.
It kind of looks like an N64 Jr. but I seen a lot of people taking about this thing. I didn’t get one for free.
I didn’t get one for free either :)
Erin Plays i know! Only a privileged few are that lucky
I really like the idea of the Super Nt. Mix of all the random features of software emulators, but on an actual, reliable, system finally. Me thinks this little system going to become the standard issue Let's Players device for SNES/Super Famicom.
You stole the name of my channel that i havent even started yet!!!😂
Man, I wish I was that Retron 5. Great vid.
Excellent review, and I agree the 8bitdo controllers are amazing!
Pretty cool but I think I'll stick with with the Retron 5. A bit pricey for me.
Great Review!
Ah, always delightful to see someone’s genuine enthusiasm! Great review.
P.S. Hopefully, the outtakes section is gonna be a regular feature :)
Thanks so much! And yeah, I might add outtakes more often, ha.

And believe me, once I get my set up fully in order I will be doing A LOT of different things when it comes to other systems (genesis, intellivision, etc.)
The SNES I held up in this video actually isn't my original one. My original one is totally yellow but I love it, ha. And then I also have the later released "mini" one. It has the A/V cables. Thanks again!
Erin Plays By the way, is it just me, OR does the Analogue logo look like the logo of a shoe company?
Good review, retro gaming girl 👍
I'll get my NT soon... I had my best gaming years with the SNES in my life
PEACE
Nice video review and the Super NT looks very interesting and keep up the good work ☺👌👍
How is the lag? I have an AVS, the HDMI Gamcube, and the SNES mini, and all have lag. Maybe it's just my TV! I have it on game mode, but still...
I personally haven’t noticed any lag yet with this.
Hmm. Ok. Thanks for the feedback. I've been on the fence about getting one of these!
I still have my Sega Genesis and games and I have the Original Xbox console, Xbox 360 E slim console.
I don’t even see a reason to consider an Everdrive or FXPak Pro, when I use it with an emulation device anyways. In that case, I can skip the hardware thing altogether and just use an emulator on my PC.
how can make streaming, I have a Super NT, help! I need buy a capture or what? help!
Yes, you would need a capture card. For example, I use an elgato hd :)
thanks!! Erin, I'll look for the HD60.
John Smith I use the regular elgato HD but the HD 60 should be fine too :)
Good Review ! Makes me wanna try it out ! ^_^
I can't wait to get my own Super NT
Erriiin!!!!
I wanna put a purple DECEPTICON sticker on it like my Wii and Dreamcast.
super nt x ray mode is suppose to be a joke lol
Bishoujo senshi bloopers 😊👌
Erin do recommend retron 5 for Gameboy color or advanced?
I'd recommend getting the Game Boy add on for the Game Cube and playing your games that way, but as of now, I believe the Retron 5 is the only clone system that plays those. So I mean, it's definitely a solution but it's possible there will be lag etc.
Love this presentation and looks clean, plays well and probably going to save up to buy this
Console you've shown are super hot.
