  • The Best Anti-Rotation Exercises for a Strong Core. Mind Pump Adam and Mind Pump Justin discuss and demonstrate Four of the BEST exercises to help strengthen your core. This is part 1 of our 4 part Anti-Rotation exercise series.
    Use these as priming exercises
Before a squat day or leg day or any lower body movements
    30 seconds to 1 minute
Also you can add a thicker band for added resistance
    Reps of squats: 10-15
Not trying to fatigue you with these priming exercises
Recommended that these are done consecutively

Have been using these with golfers for years. I even have a current client with scoliosis who’s spine has corrected 11° because of movements like these. So many people neglect anti-rotation. Thanks for sharing guys! I love it.

I love this. It requires reflexive activation of your core. Which is the way we were built to move.

Great moves for golfers too! especially us "more mature" golfers. Also good for those of us that have had lower back surgery.

    Thanks for posting this :).
I'm very interested in more functional training. I come from the world of High/Low Impact being in the industry for 30 years. I'm leaving that behind. Functional/Strength training is sensible and logical.
I look forward to learning whatever I can!

If you really want to feel it, do it on a single leg, alternating for each side. I tend to do several exercises while balanced on single leg - single arm shoulder press, lateral raises, standing cable rows, landmines; using a lower weight than normal and still feel a greater overall effect.

During the lunge, should the lead leg be the driving force for the return to upright?

I'm pretty limited on time can't see adding this in, also if the problem occurs from not playing sports anymore why not just play some light sports through a rec league if it's available

Should you alternate directions your facing or does that not matter.

Stability walks! Grab a heavy dumbbell and try to keep your torso upright while walking activating the opposite side obliques, also works grips!

Are we going to want to alternate each sides? Like doing the first hold 30 seconds one side, then turning around and doing another 30?

It’s just the transverse abdominis not the rectus Abdominis. That’s not what gives you a strong core it’s the deep core muscles.

Isometric contractions, been tried in the past and don't work. Twisting while in that standing position would do more good, with the knees bent. His squat has his weight on his foot front, should be on his heels.Lunges forward damage the knee, should step back.

  • @josephdemarco1469
    @josephdemarco1469 2 ปีที่แล้ว

why would you want to train anti-rotation when our truck rotates with every step? Why wouldn't you train strength through rotation? concentric or eccentric training would be far more functional.

Id be weary of taking this recommendation as appropriate exercise since in the first demo he is not in proper posture. He's in scapular protraction and scapular anterior tilt...not to mention the atrocity of the squats...but thats just me
