    Very helpful information by seeing how this puppy is actually put together. My shower was dripping out the front and by watching this video was able to clean up the nut that presses against the teflon rings and re-install, which solved the problem. My biggest issue was getting the set screw out of the handle, which was facilitated by applying some Liquid Wrench, tapping with a hammer and punch and patiently working it back and forth till it broke free. Thanks!!

    This is the only video I have been able to find on how to rebuild this type of shower faucet valve assembly. Thank you ever so much. Knowing how this is put together and some of the not so obvious details is really helpful. That said, do you have another source for the rebuild kit? The current link seems eternally sold out.

    Thanks for the video, I have one that's 50 years old and have rebuilt it twice, I forgot how to reset the stem.where does the v notch go?my cold is hot and hot is cold...

    • @PlumbingPartsPro
      @PlumbingPartsPro  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not positive what you mean by v notch but one side of the stem is less rounded than the other. The flatter side goes down.

    • @bryanyount2913
      @bryanyount2913 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PlumbingPartsPro ok. On the bottom of the new stem there is a v notch that I thought had to be aligned with something but it's been so long since I rebuilt this thing I couldn't remember.I'll place the flat side down.Thank you for your time and I'll be sure to look you up for additional parts.bryan

      Sorry about the link issue. I am currently sold out but have them on way. I will get links up soon. As far as valve body there are three round seals that go between the front and rear sections

      I miss typed epic. You totally left out how to install stem packing seals. One of the most important parts. If you're going to do an instructional video, show all the steps. Especially the important ones.

      Oh good lord. When I receive my repair kit from Plumbing Parts Pro, I figure I'll install the new ones the same way the old ones came out.
      I'll probably put the stem in first in order to keep the packing seals aligned as I push them in from the front. And then I'll tighten the nut in order to compress them, just like he showed.
      I'll be sure to post an update if I'm wrong and the packing material has to be inserted by a wizard via some specialized extrusion device. Or something.

      Not everyone would know what to do or the order of the plastic rings vs copper one.

      I appreciate the video, but to be quite honest, the ONLY reason I searched for and watched your video was to find out how to install the packing seals. The teflon parts appear to be directional, and it is not obvious how they should be installed. When the original poster mentioned this, you pretty much blew him off. I am not sure I understand why you would not respond more constructively to the issue. Can you please just let us know how to install them? Thanks.
