Man kann sich bei diesem Ensemble auf schönstes Musizieren verlassen! Die neue "zweite" Sopranistin fügt sich gut ein!
The setting of "Ja" (2nd tenor) ... "Ja, der Geist spricht" (full choir) is one of THE great moments in music.
My mind has been blown. I have loved VOCES8 forever, but yesterday in Recklinghausen, I finally heard them live! And I LOVE LOVE LOVE when they sing Renaissance pieces (Byrd!!!!!!! Palestrina!) but they climbed a whole heaven higher in my esteem when they sang SCHÜTZ.
"Sie ruuuuuuuhen" really sounds like a small soft cradle/ bed in which to lie down.

Wonderful performance! The 2 quartets, and especially the two sopranos, Andrea and Molly, balancing and matching perfectly!
This is my all-time favorite choral piece. Sang this in high school chamber choir. It's mind-blowing that 8 people sound like a choir of dozens. Sublime.
As always, a superb performance from this wonderful group. Blake Morgan (tenor) at 1’19” looks just like Albrecht Dürer’s self portrait.
I wanted to hear this piece today, and as I searched it I thought, I hope VOCES8 performs this some day. What a delightful surprise when it popped up! Thanks all. Hope to hear it live soon. Love love Love the new Lady. Bravi tutti!
