La música de Victoria me conmueve y estos ingleses la interpretan como los ángeles.

Undoubtedly the best polyphonist of his great time, Tomás Luís de Victoria. Excellent interpretation, congratulations, unsurpassed voices. 👍🌷💖🇪🇸👈

Thank you for this great comment - I’m not so much in Gregorian but helping comments like yours make me stay here :-)

@@Bildungsrebell I thank you for your comment, I make you see your mistake when you confuse the liturgical chant of Tomás Luís de Victoria, typical of the Renaissance, because this composer was born in Avila in 1548 and died in Madrid in 1611, therefore it has nothing to do with the Gregorian chant born in the ninth century. I hope my rectification will be useful for you. Greetings from the Kingdom of Spain.

@@jacoboVE_Cultura Thanks a lot for the clarification! Indeed I thought there is something unusual to the -actually not - Gregorian chant.

I listened to Voces formal recording of this and they're both wonderful recordings. I like how the low end voices shine through a little more on this one, nice separation.

The polyphony can't be heard in its full clarity through no fault of these excellent singers. The room has just too much reverberation.

    Why using microphones?

There are also film professional cameras present, which can be seen in one of the other songs from this concert - maybe it was televised locally, I don't think the mics were for live amplification.
