It would be great if he was still standing beside us. His voice did not sound like it used to, not just singing but talking also. I loved his voice and him
@@juneedwards3153 I do too. His voice aged better though than a lot of musicians. I know towards the end he got larger in size. I'm guessing diabetes. He was pretty skinny for a long time. I foolishly passed him up cause I didn't want to see him being by myself. Oh well. Live and learn. Glenn Leonard even has his own Temptations now.
Some of the comments about Dennis are very disrespectful. Is anyone the same person they were 30, 40 years ago?? Geez. Give the brotha a break. Elvis, Sinatra, Tony Bennett were all not in their prime at a certain point and still did shows. Anyone beef bout them? I rather watch an older Dennis Edwards and his group, than a polished younger act from 2020.
Dude. Everyone i just naked still sounded like themselves even in old age. Dennis sang way to hard and way too strong for years; and it ultimately destroyed his voice box. He sounds absolutely terrible here.
He was skufflin' pretty bad, but he still brought it the best he could, l guess. OMC Membership is a mug, a whole lot of not being able to hold on to stuff anymore. Want to but cain't, Dennis wanted to hold those notes.... couldn't. I wanted to out hold my breath against my lil cousin at the Beach last week.... couldn't. But the beauty in it is l can remember when I could. We grew up on Dennis. In 5th and 6th grade when everybody was proud to be Black and seeing Johnson Products, Johnson Publishing, RL Dukes Car Dealership, etc., shake and move on the daily, watching Dennis on TV singing about life was a game changer for me and my friends. I'm a fan for life l because I saw him at his best, in real time. The Temps performance of A Song For You on Midnight Special was one of Dennis's finest.
Medications probably blew him up.. you never know folks are going through in life medically.. we gotta stop being so critical.. hell, he made it to 74...some folks don't make it to 50. He also had hearing issues.
@@SouthernComfort707 he was definitely a little bigger/heavier and less agile here compared to the early 90s prior to Eddies death. He could still pull off the dance moves then
I CAN SEE WHY MR EDWARDS LOVED LATE GREAT GERALD LEVERT..R.I.P SO UNDERRATED AS A LEAD SINGER OF THE TEMPTATIONS HE HAD MORE HITS AS A LEAD SINGER THAN ALL OF THE LEAD SINGERS. OF THE TEMPS. SADLY HE PASSED A DAY BEFORE HIS 75TH BIRTHDAY. A GREAT LOSS.
Great performance ❤️❤️❤️ The great late Dennis Edwards; those were his songs, no matter what. Paul Williams Jr sounds exactly like his dad. Dennis was a hard singer foe years. He sang strong. All of that powerful singing destroyed his voice box. He sounds a mess here. He sounds like a Baptist Deacon singing a Solo in a mississippi backwoods church.
All of that traveling causes poor circulation to ones leges that can’t stretch out. Lack of rest and sleep. This is great! Sure, Dennis' vocals were a shadow of its former self, but he held it down, and this is totally entertaining. Also -- not to quibble...but but I believe the official name of this act is Dennis Edwards' Temptations Revue.
Precious Baby Doll yeah he is. He was a strong hard singer for a long time. Singing as powerful as he did can beat your voice down. Notice how he can’t hit any high notes anymore. Also, he was mad heavy here

Wow so sad Dennis Edward's voice is totally gone, and to see the other members just dancing around there in the beginning that's not what the temptations we're ever about. It was always choreographed as a team RIP Dennis Edwards

Who wrote this set list, TERRIBLE? THAT MANY PEOPLE and you go from a mid tempo “Papa was a rolling stone” to a slow 4/4 song that has a loooooong intro that’s a cover“ Rainy night in Georgia” by the great Brooke Benton. I get it, you’re resting you voice and your body, but you need to be doing some exploding songs the first few to fire the crowd.

I must say in my opinion, these guys were better than Otis' group. Again, just an opinion
Agree
