To this day, Sonic R's OST is one I still listen to nowadays, probably one of my favourites just from how unabashedly corny the songs are in addition to how great they sound. Plus, Diamond In The Sky is legitimately beautiful! I will still never get over how Sonic R looks and feels. While it's good to play, the presentation of it all is what delights me about this era of 3D with the crisp & lush colours and textures, the attention to detail, the environments, all of it.
That's right, it's a very great package all around. There's something really fascinating about developers who had limits to what they could accomplish visibly pushing a platform, the Playstation didn't get there until the PS2 had already come out!
I appreciate what you do on this channel. It gets tiresome only seeing jokey, negative stuff about "Sonic R." This is a really cool game and certainly a technical marvel for the Saturn. Oh, and inject that music straight into my veins! "Burning Rangers" is another one of those late Saturn games that's light on level count but packs a big wallop.
I just like that people are getting something out of my videos. In many ways, the new direction my channel took is a direct response to those kind of ultra negative, pseudo-fans who seem to be incapable of having an original thought and seem to be going for some manner of "formula" where they just kind of go with popular opinion, no matter how wrong it is.
Great game, but it could have been even better if the controls would have been better. The graphics are great, the gameplay with the exploration is great and the music is legendary. The amount of tracks is reasonable to me. 8/10. I prefer it over Mario 64 for sure.

That's totally fair, it definitely has a lot more personality and atmosphere than a lot of other mascot racers at the time!
