    nice video once again! I wish we had places like these in Greece..we olny hunt in wild to much expense on gas etc etc and you have to be lucky enough to get anything these days beacause we can olny go every sunday..if we had something like this we guarantee some shooting and some birds.. even if we have to pay for them..cheers!

      We really can’t always guarantee shooting, on this day I personally only had 3-4 shots and I can’t recall hitting a bird. For us these days aren’t really about the shooting, it’s a great hike with amazing views and good fun with friends.

    Yes, well done Jonathan. Enjoyed that and good to showcase the average kind of syndicate shoot. Nice ground, I'm not that far away from there "over the tops" and as I grew up in Coverdale spent a lot of me youth also over in Wensleydale, Nidderdale and to a lesser extent Swaledale.

    Lovely video, nice to see a 28 bore in action. The guy who forgot to load, been there, done that!

    For Gawd's sakes Jonathan, tell that gun with the side by side to NEVER have a dog tied to his belt whilst shooting!! Anything could happen if the dog runs in, not only could he kill himself but anyone in the line!! And what was that being shot at at 4:44? Lovely shoot! What's the river?

    How did the 28 gauge do?

    • @JonathanMMcGee
      @JonathanMMcGee  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mike Proctor Love the 28 gauge in general, a perfect light fast gun ideal to this style of shooting. On this day I can’t recall hitting anything, 3-4 shots possibly but it was the end of the season and I’d generally try to be in the woods for slightly lower birds.

    What non toxic shot cartridges were you using

    • @JonathanMMcGee
      @JonathanMMcGee  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Ben. They were a steel 18g 6. We have a friend who’s a world champ small bore clay shot who loads all our .410 and 28gauge non toxic loads. If this interests you email us directly and we’ll pass on the load recipe. We also load our own cartridges for .410 but it’s a different science with non toxics. Hope this helps.

    Jonathan. Apologies Re comment on plastic. 49 seconds in the Eley box with plastic on it it. I missed the FIBRE on the right of the box. Great videos by the way.

    Dear Dzhonotan. In your movie safety rules are violated at 8:58 when using a gun. There was a misfire. It is impossible to open a gun at once. The long shot is possible. It can put a trauma. Take care also the friends.

      SERGEY GLADKOV Not a miss fire but an inexperienced shooter who forgot to reload, note used cartridge was ejected! Thank you for your comment.

    Very good, love that scenery and also the fact that you recorded a lot of misses as well, we are really lucky to have such great places in Yorkshire :-)

    • @JonathanMMcGee
      @JonathanMMcGee  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yorkie263 Thanks. We’ve done films showcasing just kill shots in the past and as editors we know it’s not realistic and doesn’t show the reality of ‘hunting’ and working hard for our game. These smaller days are become so relevant and as mentioned are the backbone of our community, not to mention our favourite days.
