I wish I could show you the photo we took, pheasant hunting in 'The States' last week: you inspired me to dress in formal hunting attire.

Great video however two strange things happened. 1. TH-cam turned my notification off - doh! and 2. It looks like the video is playing at 2X speed. I've checked the settings and its set at 1X. So it looks like you are shooting a BOFORS rather than a Browning but in anycase the birds are dropping like they have been hit with a BOFORS.

Great film Dave, Thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Another British shoot that shows how good our game shooting is. Its proof when you speak to overseas visitors who come back year after year. A real treat to watch, I only wish I could shoot like you. Many thanks Dave, looking forward to the next film.

Another great day out there Dave, and it sounds like a 'Happy Birthday' to you is in order. Nothing like a birthday shoot to really celebrate the day!
Glad to see an American shooter on the team, it looked like he knew what's what. Thanks and best wishes for good health and good fortune.

    Perhaps a shot camera
    What do you think 🤔

i agree Paul but its about trying to show all our good shoots and why we do it, there will be repetitiveness in what we do and some shoots do look familiar and samish, that is why i like to film every kind of shoot and in every type of area, thanks for your comments as this is always constructive in trying to get something better👍

This season I have made one pheasant hunting trip to South Dakota for wild birds. In the U.S. we follow our dogs. I have an Epagneul Breton pup. It's all about the dogs. But for shooting. I would say you get more in a day than I do in a season. I would like to give your shooting a try. But I don't know about my 28 gauge sxs.

Don Cetrulo I did hunt in SD this year as well. I don’t believe he has the same 3 bird limit. It would be neat to do a driven hunt but I do love watching the dogs work!

      Hi Don
28gauge is fine on our more traditional shooting estates but would be out of their depth on some of the more extreme pheasants

As an American and being 62 years of age: No tweed for me or plus-fours with garters. You will not let me have any more than a brace of birds after I have shot........maybe 100?
    Not going to fly.
Damn high crossing shots that experts miss 25% of the time?
    Not my cup of tea.
    Maybe rough shooting for me.
But you still have that bird limit to take home.
Walking in with my hunting apparel from the US would be scandalous and no one would take me seriously or want to shoot with me. Forget that my guns would be fourth-tier down on the list of weapons to own for this crowd.
Snobbery would be rampant with my inclusion to the hunt. Which would make me angry. Which would push my score higher to prove that I was worthy.
    Lost cause.
These people look at how you are dressed and the make and model of your shotgun. Been there; done that.
Not a very fun place to be.
Especially if I am spending $1,200 to hunt for a DAY for fun!
I will stay on my side of the pond and not be judged by what I wear and shoot, and be able to take home more than a two day dinner.

      Hi Roger
thankyou for your comments and opinion!! "gratefully received" - i think everyone views hunting/shooting differently from the wider world, it is most refreshing to have a candid view from one of our overseas viewers who can put the case over for not wanting to join in an English formal driven day!!, but i can assure you most of these sportsmen and women are not snobs but just nice genuine country folk enjoying their day out, we just do it differently over here ! and that can appear strange to some overseas visitors but i can assure you "You" would be made most welcome over here !! it is just our traditional way of doing things that appear strange but the folk are mostly lovely kind souls.
      Dave Carrie

      @@DaveCarrieShooting Dave
Have shot here with some 'elites' and figured the moneyed patrons would be the same there. My mistake. I apologize.
Nice that you may keep more than a brace of birds.
It still leaves those pesky high crossing shots. Not my forte. Best for me are short range pointed birds. I like watching the dogs work almost as much as the hunt itself.
Might have to think about maybe a trip to Ireland for a rough shoot. I may be able to swing the cash for that.
Thank you for your polite reply to my nasty rant.
Happy Christmas to you and a good New Year.

    • @jem0911
      @jem0911 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Sorry? On one drive David is using two guns on another he using one. How’s that anything to do with the shot?

    • @Lucerne12
      @Lucerne12 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I noticed that too Jeremy. On the first drive the loader is loading a second gun and on the next he is loading just the one in David’s hands.
