Reliable, Spacious & versatile MPV with RWD IS RARE nowadays from Japan. Though she is relatively thirsty, IMHO such sacrifice is appreciated when the above factors are enjoyed on every drive 🥰 🤲
Thank You John for another great video, I really like this ElGrand. What a shame, such a unique car. I can imagine people Customizing these for Campers.
hello i am looking to buy one but it seems like none of them have cruze control . am i missng something here, can it baffles me that a car like this would not have cruze control
Hi John, another great video buddy, and a lovely sneak peak of what's coming next 😃 Weirdly enough I bought a T5 a month or 2 ago which I am in the process of modernising and will be doing a day van or maybe a full camper conversion on it, that's being shown on my other youtube channel vwbusbits. Can't wait to see what it is you have bought and your next video to showcase it thumb.
congratulations on your choice of a VW Camper, though Ellie sure was something special. but those VW Busses are really versatile. I'm currently running a T6 as a company car and that's really a pleasant car for a daily driver.
John,I've watched you ebb away from Jaguars and its OK...I too have done so...I sold my beautiful 2005-XK8 conv and bought [heaven forbid] a BMW 645Ci conv with the SMG gearbox...It is an absolutely fantastic car yet totally different than the XK8...times change and so do our cars
Sounds like a great car Richard. The Jag is still very much at the heart of my spare time. I just don't film everything I do with it or on it. My wife has no interest in being in the videos and thankfully she is with me on most of my journeys in Purdey. SO any perceptions that i am drifting from the jags are purely driven by which vehicles need repair or modification at that time, And Purdey is giving me no trouble recently. I love the 6 series with the top down but cant get my head around the convertible hood shape. Keep us in the loop as to how you get on with it. John
Average mpg of a petrol Nissan Elgrand 3.5 is 23mpg. The average mpg of a VW T5 is roughly 26mpg, but with the added weight of a camper conversion, will most likely be roughly the same as a Nissan Elgrand. I know which vehicle I'd rather drive, and sleep in and it wouldn't be the T5.
Honestly hate how all of these seem to be getting made into campers. Wouldn't mind if it was even half of them but I swear that every one of them I've seen have been converted. People like me who want it for the seating and luxury of it for my family are going to have a nightmare trying to find a good condition stock one like this. Fair enough convert the ones that are majorly worn inside. But this one is beautiful and in my opinion should be left alone and sold to a family that wants it as is.
Don’t complain about 28 mpg. That is great for a petrol engine. I have a 2016 Subaru Outback in the US with a 2.5 liter engine and I only get 28-30 mpg on the highway.
Nope. A litre is approx 1 & 3/4 pints. American Gallons are smaller than UK ones. ours are about 1.2 x as big as yours And American Horses are appraently smaller too ( as in the ones used for BHP Brake Horse Power) I cant explain it Michael, Somewhere out there will be someone who knows why. But its not me.🤣

Well said!
they are not reliable mate, they are constantly throwing up issues.
Thank You John for another great video,
I really like this ElGrand.

i love my elgrand, im glad that you have made these videos as the passion will continue with the new owner.
I can imagine there being another Elgrand in my future. it was not right for me right now but I loved every mile spent in mine.
The 2.6 lyre is not so thirsty. Don't have to worry about salt here in Oz the weather similar to Japan.
Maybe the 2.5 might be one for me in the future?
Hi John - WHERE can I get those 'overlay stickers' you demo at 8:10 ? I cant find them anywhere on Ebay or Amazon. Thank You Sir

What happened to Ellie, as Easy Campers is no more right???
Thanks for your videos on the Elgrand. I really enjoyed them as I'm thinking of buying one. Best of luck with your new vechicle.
Glad you like them. I genuinely Think they are excellent and near unique in the niche they fill.
Yes John, life is full of surprises. enjoy the metamorphosis. Greetings Udo
Many thanks Udo.
Really enjoyed watching this. Very nicely done 😊
What a tease!!! lol I might just be on the eve of buying my first Japanese Import 🎉 a sorted elgrand
Would you recommend lpg conversion? If there’s any room for a tank of course
Get one with a 2.5 engine consumption is better

Thanks Wolf. I love a transporter. It cant match Ellies refinement or pace but its still a great drive and a lot cheaper to run

the weird thing is that engine is almost as thirsty in a sedan, average real world reports: 17mpg vs 20mpg in a 350z
I'm looking to buy one 😮
Enjoy👍
To summarise:

Hi Michael. 28 miles per UK gallon is only 23 miles per U.S. gallon
@@ToTheGarage Ah, so the UK gallon is a liter. Stay well
Nope. A litre is approx 1 & 3/4 pints.

@@ToTheGarage Yes, they are called Mustangs. Actually I have no idea.
So long!
