    I’d much prefer the rear end units, rather than the side unit on some conversions. Because you can have three rear seats and the sleeping area are wider.

    • @damos_cars
      @damos_cars  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeh, completely agree. We like the versatility of having a row of original seats. It means it still a proper car and also a camper. Best of all worlds. The only bit of a downside is it can make getting things in the back a bit trickier. Do you have an Elgrand camper then?

    Awesome timing! Thank you for answering my prayers! 🙏 I have a NE Highway Star - cream leather (DVD reverse camera, tho no curtains) and I'm also planning to add on the kitchen system similar to yours! Thanks also for detailed description of the dashboard... I didn't know the purpose of some of the knobs on the far right drivers panel... til now 🤣 Because the interior of the van is very luxe I don't want to build into the van but rather make a few add ons. I love driving and holidaying in my Nissan Elgrand, my fav vehicle over any other vehicle I've owned. Especially great for traveling here in NZ. Kia ora!

    The updated view on the catalytic converter problem is the remove the first two cats, they are the problem and keep the second two if running on petrol, The reasoning for this is people are still getting engine damage due to ceramic particles getting back into the cylinders, hope this helps

    • @damos_cars
      @damos_cars  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh good question. I'm 5'10" and can sleep up there but only with my legs bent! Also, its a tight space for 2 x people. It works perfectly for one small adult (less than 5'10") or 2 kids. What did you decide on in the end?

      @peterfritzphoto 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@damos_cars Thanks, Damo. Ah yes, the flaps on the roof tent makes sense, but how do you stop insects coming into the rear windows? I cannot find flyscreens for them anywhere online. Re your love of cars, I actually worked for a stable of car magazines in Australia for about 8 years, and have been connected to the car industry for about 30 years. I drove my first Lambo at 18, and have clocked thousands of k's in the brilliant NSX - one of my all-time favourite sports cars. The 968 Clubsport was a highlight, too. Still haven't owned a Porsche, yet (my fun car is an ND MX5), but will probably end up in a Boxster S or 911 Carrera in the next few years. I've been obsessed with cars since I first began driving at the ripe old age of eight. Thanks for your help, mate.

    • @damos_cars
      @damos_cars  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nah, I think they're great. Depends on spec really. Campers will always sell, especially now. As mentioned in the video, it's the same engine as the 350Z so you should be fine. Also, there are a few import specialists who are happy to service these.

    Excellent video and very informative.
    I now know the order of trim levels and the Cats point which is all good.
    Question for you if possible.
    I am looking at these Elgrands as my potential next purchase. I am wanting it as a 6-7 seater normally but with the option to fold the seats down so we (2 adults) can sleep in the back when at an event.
    I am 6’3 and looking to get a confirmation if I would have enough space in one with that setup or not. Any idea?
    2nd question. I will be looking to put the pop up roof on top to provide if nothing else the headroom whilst away at an event but interested to know if you can fit 2 adults up there to sleep comfortably or not?
    Not me as I assume I am too big and heavy, so assume people about 5’8 ish and no more than 12 stone each.
    Thanks
    Phil
