Thanks bud 🙏🏻 Yeah I removed all of them, the bit at the rear where the air comes from the fan unit I turned the existing exit piece of plastic that joins upside down and it lowered it and cut it off so that the air came out from there. Didn’t want to complicate or damage the unit so it still works great!

Finally in NZ we have to be able to access and use the loo with the bed made up … how do you get on with that in the night? Look forward to hearing back, cheers.
Would love to visit NZ! When the bed is set up the space between the side bench seats in the middle obviously has the bed over leaving a big old space for my bags, paddle board, clothing and all sorts. Also when the bed is set up the toilet door under the sink can still be full opened and the toilet pulled out to use, not a big space but enough 🙌
Love this. I have a 2002 elgrand XL. I would love to do something like this. Roughly how much did it cost you to do and how long? Many thanks. great video and and awesome van.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻 It has taken me 18 months doing it here and there. It’s also my daily drive. Cost wise, wow what a question! In time, hundreds of hours, the main actual structure wood and fixings not that much really it’s the electronics and gizmos that cost the money, you get what you pay for! Difficult to answer and every single build is different. Plus my wife might see so, my answer is not much 🤣🤣🤣🤣😬😳
Brilliant desk/chair layout. Seems that you can kick out your legs to top of the bench for ample legroom -something that is missing from every van-desk system I've seen. I
Beautifull ride - well done🍻 As a class 1 driver I love cars - driving, detailing, taking care of is a real pleasure and make me very relax. I want to buy e51 but prices are quite high - £10k for good one, so I was thinking to import one using company who does it and word on the street is that in Japan best ones goes for about $4-5k us dollars plus transport and all duties and taxes and still that option is cheaper then buying here - what you think? Also whats a real mpg - some say full tank last 250 miles, some say 350. Im not 20 anymore so I drive for pleasure not a race. Was thinking about 2.5 4WD - maybe is less thirsty😉 All the best amd happy camping🏜️
Thanks buddy really appreciate the lovely comments and thanks for watching the video! Starting with fuel the 2.5 and 3.5 aren’t worlds apart I understand obs you would get more mpg on a smaller engine but not a great amount. I can go anywhere from 270 miles up to 420 miles depending on driving style and road type the difference really is huge! There are some benefits to the 3.5 when it comes to some of the later mechanics. If I were buying again I would import a top grade model from a reputable supplier in Japan to be honest and save myself the profits of middle men. I wish you well let me know if you get one! 🙌
I was literally just looking at buying one of these vans in Australia to make a very similar set up. I must say your interior looks immaculate. I was looking a similar electrical set-up. May i ask why you've only used one solar pannel? I am assuming you drive enough to chatge from the alternator?
The panel is 200w and I drive regularly. The lithium is 200amph so when sunny it doesn’t even need the back to back charger the solar is sufficient. So summer here ok, where you are would be amazing! 🤣 thanks for the comments, she has been a labour of love ❤️
Ah thanks 🙏🏻 I had no experience apart from basic stuff and learned all I needed on TH-cam 🤣🤣 If you feel brave give it some research and take a chance, you might surprise yourself! If you have the ability and don’t feel confident then get someone who knows what they are doing. 👍🏻
Great setup! Ive just got myself a Thule 973 bike rack which Im in the process of installing. Can I ask what settings you chose for the straps on the top eg 20 holes or 21?
I used small self tapping screws and tiger sealant / adhesive along the length and in the screws Has held well and doesn’t cause any issues is hidden and works really well Thanks for watching 🫶🏻
It’s not the vehicle for the best MPG 🤣 it’s comparable to a sprinter - I use super unleaded which is a bit more to buy and is the recommended fuel type for this vehicle. A full tank is around £110 and this can give me anywhere from 275 to 400 miles depending on how I drive, the weight carried and what roads I use. Around town the lowest and I have had 420 miles on a sunny day, motorway miles with no load driving like Miss Daisy. I hope this gives you some idea, the range can be quite different!
All very well, but it's no longer an Elgrand as such. You might as well buy a van and convert it. For instance, I can sleep in a standard Elgrand with a small cooking and washing facility which can live under the rear seats. Or I can earn £150 an hour driving for executive conferences. I choose the latter. Nice looking thing though.
Hiya I too have a power bank, but find that all of the seamless workings of a fixed system to be so much more useable and straight forward like a house so to speak. I can see how you could use just that in a van too, but as I said the seamless operation is priceless. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
