What a simplistic, but beautiful sailboat. The inside is gorgeous. You can tell the boat is water tight just by the shape of the inside. It looks like a brand new build. Absolutely stunning.
After making her windlass, I met up with Polly and her crew the same year she was launched. She is beautiful, and her layout makes her very spacious. One of the nicest boats I’ve ever seen.
I am amazed how you have undersold such a beautiful built cutter with such lovely features; you seemed dis interested in highlighting the beautiful features this craft has to offer just factual comments no emotion!!!!
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL design and kept in pristine condition! I own a Hans Christian 33 and I can see that Hardwood Ives got inspired by this design when he designed the 33’ & 38’ 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Sixty years ago at Skipool Creek I first got my, now my life long interest in boats. David Moss was never then predominant at Skipool. He had however built at Freckenton boatyard, a glued strip plank teak yacht christened "Zingana" truly a work of art. commissioned by Roland Eastman, he of then Eastman's Kitchens. Consider the time that was so soon after the war (WW2) there was nothing in the way of new boats. We were all scratching around for for something that would actually float and hopefully be capable of making a coastal passage. It was a couple or more decades later that I returned to Skipool to refurbish a Hurley 27. It during this period that I became aware of the true character of, David Moss. A fine boat builder perhaps, but as a fellow? Not a bit at all.
9:36 Wait, how long's that Salad Creme been sitting out?! 🤢 Seriously though, stunning vessel. What's not to love about gaff cutters? I'd love to spend a week crewing but can't imagine owning one; all the maintenance that must be required, would be non-stop labour of love for an owner and a younger one than me at that. Was also nice to be able to read the current owner's comments.
Absolutely stunning. But why would someone go to the trouble and expense of building the beautiful thing, only to sell it 4 years later for half price?
For some there is great joy in the design, planning and build process, but also people lives change so unfortunately the boat does not fit into their current situation. She is being sold with a heavy heart but with very fond memories
As beautiful as wooden ships are, eventually you will become a slave to maintaining your beauty. Been there done that. But don't get me wrong, I certainly value a traditional boat over a modern plastic cup without a soul.
That's a lovely boat, but am I the only one concerned that there are no lifelines. I didn't see many hand holds either going forward. I don't think it would take me long to fall off in a good blow.
From my experience, lifelines do nothing but send you in headfirst and provide a false sense of security. Perhaps they serve a purpose when racing to allow the crew to lean out as far on the rail as possible, but for a boat like this, a much better solution is to have some good hand holds. I see plenty here but I suppose more certainly wouldn’t go astray either.
While Polly is a 'traditional' design, it was built in 'modern' days so I have to ask where is the shower? Surely English people have gone beyond having a bath once a week or forgoing body cleaning all together?
@@alfredneuman6488 I live in a rural place with a rain water tank,I definitely don't waste water on a daily shower.A long voyage on a yacht would be the same ,you use water appropriately !
Aside from healthy doses of wind, telling tales & those quiet lone shifts as helmsmen/ women..right up there would be healthy meals...yet often you provide either brief or zero film space for the galley..makes one wonder...wether it be the primary important arena .to admire gear- workmanship etc..please give more time to these galleys& perhaps less time to pulling drawers

What a beautiful Gaff Cutter! I would love to own such a fine ship. Better start saving my pennies, lol. :D
Wow, what a beauty.
What a thoughtfully designed and beautifully crafted yacht.

I hope you interview whoever is interested in her. She's a lovely lady and deserves a proper mate.
Past gorgeous..its at a beauty level which defies words🎈
David builds some beautiful boats. He’s currently restoring our 1912 Crossfield’s yacht and making a beautiful job of it.,
Wife found out ......
A very nice ship. What inspires you to sell it? Whats the asking price?
Prettiest thing I ever did see!
Che bello! Grazie mille!
Beautiful, comfortable. Thank you for the video
Nice little ship.
Absolutely one of the most beautiful boats I've ever seen. It's a shame that some marinas don't allow wooden boats.
Why ?
@@bernardmullan9186 Insurance reasons. Sort of how some campgrounds don't allow RVs older than ten years old.
What a beautiful sailboat ⛵
What price in US 🇺🇸 dollars 💸 ?
Not so sure about the orientation of the stove. I'd have swapped its position with the sink. Lovely boat.
Beautiful ❤
Masterpiece!
Beautiful boat
A most beautiful lady.
Beautiful boat, chart tables are obsolete. All that room is used to hold charts that most sailors don't use anymore..😊.lovely build..
I would still like to have a chart as well as the rest of the gear.
nice little boat
Lovely.
Beautiful! Very similar to the gaff-rigged cutter Westsail 32 (fiberglass hull) I once owned. Delightful to sail in every way.
I'm looking for a gaff rigged Westsail 32. Very hard to find. That's why I was considering a Heard 28
Ease off the port runner to save wear on the main?
You have to sort your varnish Gys! The water gets in and you will not be able to get rid of the black stains.
Nice...
Whatever you're asking pricewise, isn't enough

Last time I did Atlantic I showered twice in 20 days due to limit of water on board, we all smelt the same, Nancy boys worry about showers on a boat!

Is this boat a lot like Tally Ho (Leo's restoration) ?
That's what I was thinking! little smaller through I think
Great boat, but without a decent railing, should be difficult to find a new owner.
This has nothing to do with historic original tradicionalism.
