Then he lowered the car on the ground and he said it sits lower than the economy. Damn son what a mic drop that was. You breifly touched on it in the video, but the improper assembly of the ride tech alone would have warranted me to accept such an amazing deal as qa1 offered. Redoing all the suspension, knowing it’s done right, and not having that thought on the back of your mind that the rear suspension wasn’t installed properly what else isn’t? Not having that fear alone must be a huge comfort. The more adjustable suspension, weld in 4link, rear sway bar and support from qa1 are all just a bonus on top of knowing your cars safe. Glad this offer came your way.
A 6 inch extension and a short socket gets in there without a ton of trouble on those control arm bolts. It's a pain, but not as bad with the extension.
Well I didn't figure QA would up and just volunteer to send me one so I went ahead and ordered it. I did not even know they made one till this video. Was going to get the RideTech one but glad I hesitated because a lot of people seemed to have issues with fitting the carriage. Although this one is a weld in kit (I was going to weld the Ride Tech anyway) it seemed to fit with no issue, unless you had problems off camera. Nice car, love the color.
😂 bro…literally going through the same thing on my 65 Chevelle right now, you think oh these old cars are much easier to work on than newer stuff, some stuff yes, but man some stuff is just ridiculous! Try putting rear strut brace on the back of an A-body with the body on!!! Nightmare, literally took me 6 hours… Stoked to see a bad ass company partner up with you man! Congrats!! Cheers bud 🍻

I have the QA1 coilovers in the front of my 67 Camaro and it's night and day over my old Hotchkis springs. Race Ramps are super helpful when tightening suspension bolts on a lowered car. Mine isn't that low, but my Quickjacks barely fit under there.
Awsome video. We have 2 69 camaros, a real Z/18 and a base converted RS convertible. I wonder if all the things you installed would bolt up how yours did, ours has stock suspension I believe, no fancy stuff. Keep up the great work man!!

I can vouch that the installation of the lower control arms goes much smoother when the fenders and front are all off. I had no problem with the deeply sunk bolts or sway bar when I had space to work.

Raptor liner is pretty easy to spray. Get the kit with their gun. around 50 psi. It looks like you probably have the basic Jet Black but you can buy it clear and tint any color.

I wonder if you could super-glue or hot glue the nut to the end of a small jack handle to screw it in inside the hole. Then move the jack handle back and forth to break the glue joint. Then you would be able to apply the socket?
the 4 link kits are really nick for the solid axle swaps, other then too what spring rate one is using their is no noticeable difference in handling over an fully independent CV axle set up... tho personally after the 8.8 broke on my thunderbird, i decided to swap a full floater AAM1150 in it with a 3.92 auto locking diff, trimming tubes etc. fitting stuff... tho to geometry, the rear lower arms point up as they go from the axle to the chasse and the upper arms are outboard from the center section and point down as they go to the chasse, that creates an action pinion angle that their for keeps the drive shaft static within 1/4 inch at the transmission tail housing regardless that the axle its self has moved nearly 9 inches from one location to another. farther more solid bar ends can bind in a way that as the axle drops or rises from one end, their is a natural occurring torsion that acts the same as a sway bar "threaded bar ends with higher pivot angle movement cant do that, nor can hollow tubing as the bar ends twist similar to a torsion bar spring". but as other things go working on uneven ground reggin things up right to suspend the straps shims and chains as if gravity was gone and a line of tape sees it true regardless of where, my rear driver side was hit at one time to trip the fuel pump immobilizer, but that's deleted now, deleted as being the first thing i did after getting the car 7 years back. but anyways, the more stationary the whole driveshaft is the less axial vibration their is like that bike wheel physics show in a string? 700lbs of floater axle that does move enough getting up the driveway at 50mph that the 4 inch ruts and rocks just roll over same as the IRS. $20'000cad if its out of the summit book i guess? rev 'n dump torque on the NA 4.6 was measured at 516lbft, a 9 inch would still be a looming problem, so that's why that AAM1150/Dana80 is their with the 1.5 inch floater shaft on a 11.74 first gear... its also on the block as might bust a shaft after 10psi goes in it. heavyset axle their is, floats same as an IRS with the 15 pound aluminum hubs other then the linear spring rate relating to "what would be box weight on a truck as that's stuffer".
That lower control arm nut that was giving you a hard time would have been a whole lot easier if it was shouldered. You would just need an extension and maybe a u-joint to get it started. I would have taped the washer to the back side of the nut.

the 4 link kits are really nick for the solid axle swaps, other then too what spring rate one is using their is no noticeable difference in handling over an fully independent CV axle set up... tho personally after the 8.8 broke on my thunderbird, i decided to swap a full floater AAM1150 in it with a 3.92 auto locking diff, trimming tubes etc. fitting stuff... tho to geometry, the rear lower arms point up as they go from the axle to the chasse and the upper arms are outboard from the center section and point down as they go to the chasse, that creates an action pinion angle that their for keeps the drive shaft static within 1/4 inch at the transmission tail housing regardless that the axle its self has moved nearly 9 inches from one location to another. farther more solid bar ends can bind in a way that as the axle drops or rises from one end, their is a natural occurring torsion that acts the same as a sway bar "threaded bar ends with higher pivot angle movement cant do that, nor can hollow tubing as the bar ends twist similar to a torsion bar spring". but as other things go working on uneven ground reggin things up right to suspend the straps shims and chains as if gravity was gone and a line of tape sees it true regardless of where, my rear driver side was hit at one time to trip the fuel pump immobilizer, but that's deleted now, deleted as being the first thing i did after getting the car 7 years back. but anyways, the more stationary the whole driveshaft is the less axial vibration their is like that bike wheel physics show in a string? 700lbs of floater axle that does move enough getting up the driveway at 50mph that the 4 inch ruts and rocks just roll over same as the IRS. $20'000cad if its out of the summit book i guess? rev 'n dump torque on the NA 4.6 was measured at 516lbft, a 9 inch would still be a looming problem, so that's why that AAM1150/Dana80 is their with the 1.5 inch floater shaft on a 11.74 first gear... its also on the block as might bust a shaft after 10psi goes in it. heavyset axle their is, floats same as an IRS with the 15 pound aluminum hubs other then the linear spring rate relating to "what would be box weight on a truck as that's stuffer".
Your front rotors are on backwards. The curved vanes pump air from the center out. The way they are installed they will run hotter.

That lower control arm nut that was giving you a hard time would have been a whole lot easier if it was shouldered. You would just need an extension and maybe a u-joint to get it started. I would have taped the washer to the back side of the nut.
