EA can go to the Netherrealm. Visceral made a Dead Space game just called Dead Space for mobile. I had it back when I had my first iPod Touch 4th Gen long ago. The controls, the story, the atmosphere, audio, visuals, OMG it what got me into touch screen gaming. I'm sure you can find videos of someone playing it on TH-cam. They were just another developer that EA sucked the soul out of. R.I.P. Of course they took the game off all the app stores on every device.

The way Jackie's girlfriend looked at the end of Darkness 2 was right out of the comics. Her appearance as the Angelus was pretty close to that origin.
I genuinely feel bad for people that spent nearly two decades waiting for Shenmue III. Like, I saw a long video about it from a channel called Super Eyepatch Wolf, and the genuine heartbreak this man had over how disappointed he was in the game is nothing short of soul crushing.
My vote goes for the Days Gone cliffhanger. It makes me so sad that we’ll never know where the story about the hybrids go… (still holding out a tiny bit of hope for a sequel)
Sly Cooper 4: Thieves in Time is the cliffhanger that stung the most to me. It's been over 9, almost 10-years since the game released & it's still not resolved. I mean, even a short comic would've been just fine, but no. We didn't even get that. I guess it all came down to sales, and Sony simply thought it didn't sell enough to warrant a sequel (it was the end of the PS3's lifespan after all, with the PS4 just being released), or even the DLC Sanzaru Games planned to release afterward to resolve the cliffhanger. Heck, the whole Egypt DLC is all on paper at the moment. It's just up to Sony to eventually greenlight a Sly 5 at this point.
TBH as a fellow lover of sly Cooper I really think it should have just ended at Sly cooper 3. Everything was wrapped up and it just felt better for the story to end there.

One that I feel is forgotten is Psiops: The Mindgate Conspiracy. It was a decent game that ended with the main character escaping an explosion and whiting out to a to be continued. sadly am not expecting a sequel ever.

The cliffhanger at the end of Darksiders 1 still gets me. It's been a decade since the game's release, Darksiders 2 and 3 take place in during a time jump between the prologue of the first game and the rest of it, and Genesis is a prequel to all 3. With the original devs having gotten shut down and passing the IP to a different studio, and the lesser known nature of Darksiders in general, it's up in the air if we'll ever see a proper conclusion.
For The Darkness 2, the Darkness games were adapted from an independent comic book of the same name and they follow the same story. That's just a weird point they chose to end The Darkness 2 on.
Angelus is actually pretty tone accurate for the Darkness games. Theyre based of already existing comic book characters. Angelus itself is pretty important to the comic series. And yes. Theyre depicted as that sexy.

I bought the DLC for Dead Space 3 and I was very unhappy with the cliffhanger. Unless and until someone decides to legitimately bring the story to a close, I choose to ignore all of the events in the DLC and accept that Isaac Clarke died a hero who successfully eradicated the necromorph threat once and for all. Although tragic, it is an acceptable ending for Isaac to die at the end.
In the original, you can hear Isaac calling out for Ellie. Wait until the credits end. I was hoping for a new edition to the series based on this little dialogue. Would have been nice to see how Isaac survived. I never played the DLCs so wasn't aware about the ending shown in the video. Is it a continuation from the original's ending?

The cliffhanger that affected me most was in Ace Combat Infinity. To put it briefly, the game suddenly ends once you realise that the main enemy is a little girl born and raised in a satellite who thinks the war crimes she’s committing are part of a video game. On top of that a terrorist group just got hold of a super weapon. The game never got closure as the episodic story ended abruptly. Interestingly though, one of the developers said the story will end some day, but I highly doubt it as the game came out on PS3 and franchise has switched universes.
Call Of Duty:Ghost, I’m still waiting for part 2. I don’t care if the game was bad or whatever but, How dare you Infinity Ward leave us with all these questions and no answers.

Haven: Call of the King had a real cliffhanger of an ending. The main character was betrayed by his closest friend and chained up and left to rot on an abandoned planet somewhere. The Solus Project also had a great cliffhanger ending. I would love a sequel to that where you could get back at the aliens who enslaved all those people.
For me it's Beyond: Two Souls in one of the endings the main character Jodie has a vison of the future, and in it all the buildings are destroyed there's not much contexts it's just the last five seconds so it's hard to explain. but just being the last bit you see I thought it was a big cliff-hanger.

On The Darkness II one, blame the sorce material, The Darkness was part of Image's Top cow imprint's Witchblade universe, and hypersexuallized characters was a common trait there
I dunno, I think that era of comics was cool, mostly because you just don't get that anymore. You can't, it's considered outdated. The artistic talent was insanely high back then, and sure, a lot of it was horny dudes...But that doesn't take away from their talent. Tomb Raider, Witchblade, Watchmen, The Darkness etc. We'll never get comics like that again, sadly.
I definitely remember Dead Space 3’s cliffhanger like it was yesterday… such a bummer that franchise fell out. Also, kingdom come: deliverance has an annoying cliffhanger as well. The end just stops and you have two story missions still activate that you can never complete. No news on a KCD 2. Sad.
If anyone hasn’t then I recommend people check out the darkness comic series. It’s batshit crazy and sometimes absurd but it’s pure amazing and awesome. It’ll also give you a good idea of what the angelus is and why it’s the enemy in game. Totally worth it if you ask me.
The Xenosaga series was failed by Namco, it was supposed to be a 6 part game but it was cut into an unfinished trilogy. It deserved way more credit then given. The only thing I can say as to why it wouldn’t of gotten finished is that it’s heavily religious to an extent and I can see as to why it was discontinued. Oh yeah that and the US sales vs EU and Japan sales. It had sooo much potential 🥺 & KOSMOS is such a babe!!!

To be fair, that Darkness ending isn't much different than stories in the comics. Angelus is actually a name from the comic. Also to be fair, Top Cow created a lot of pretty picture and some epically bad titles.

There was a Deus Ex game made for mobile that was an absolutely excellent FPS with RPG elements on touch screen. It was linear but in a way you could handle objectives in multiple ways and in different orders. You spend the whole game tracking down a mercenary group just for you to never actually fight any of them. The ending is you getting into a aircraft to go after them, leaving from Panama. The final mission had HEAVY firepower and hella enemies. All that build up to be like, "Okay, let's go get'm." And when you get into the ship I got excited thinking you're gonna go to a new area with a new environment and enemies. I'm thinking there's gonna be some dope boss battles; Nope. Credits 😳. Like WHAT ❓❗🥺 And the game if you're good is only like 6 hours. There's a 💩 ton of upgrades you can get too. The game is so short by the time you're done you couldn't possibly get all of them. Essentially you replay the game with different/more upgrades each time, but it would've been cool if it was longer and that would've made it more interesting to aquire and use the upgrades. I did replay it like 6 times though NGL. It was a good game.
Medal of Honor: Rising Sun definitely had an ending set up for a sequel. Taking off from a Japanese aircraft carrier to go find your brother. That was one of the 3 games that really got me into video games, so I obviously have some nostalgia for it. I don't think it sold very well, otherwise they would have made the sequel. It was released in 2003, so well before the collapse of the franchise. A Rising Sun 2, with the level of game play that European Assualt had would have been so much fun.
The sheer fact Valve chose to make HL:Alex, not only inaccessible to virtually everyone because who the hell owns a VR set (not I) AND not be the logical continuation of the Gordon Freeman story. Ugh. Ugh. Just ugh. Borderline gaslighting. Ugh.
Catalyst is my all time fav game. I think there's still a shimmer of hope for a sequel. I mean, do you have any idea how much lore and worldbuilding went into that project? They've got a whole nation/country with cities and factions, events and history, characters and technology. It's a stupid amount of creative ideation and writing to be confined to a great, but short story that never gets a sequel.
Metro Exodus may have been straight forward for the ending but there was elements in the game that I feel its not over with even with the DLC. Maybe its because I want more awesome games or I'm going into design mode because I'm going to school for Game Development.

The cliffhanger that affected me most was in Ace Combat Infinity. To put it briefly, the game suddenly ends once you realise that the main enemy is a little girl born and raised in a satellite who thinks the war crimes she’s committing are part of a video game. On top of that a terrorist group just got hold of a super weapon.
The game never got closure as the episodic story ended abruptly. Interestingly though, one of the developers said the story will end some day, but I highly doubt it as the game came out on PS3 and franchise has switched universes.
Call Of Duty:Ghost, I’m still waiting for part 2. I don’t care if the game was bad or whatever but, How dare you Infinity Ward leave us with all these questions and no answers.

The ending of Golden Sun: Dark Dawn is the cliffhanger that hurts me the most. It’s clear that the developers thought there would be a Golden Sun 4 , and that they would be able to tie up all the loose ends they left dangling, but that never happened.

I know it's a good game. I'd just be wayore interested in playing and finishing the story of Prey over starting a new story that just stole the name since they already owned the rights to it.

Haven: Call of the King had a real cliffhanger of an ending.
The main character was betrayed by his closest friend and chained up and left to rot on an abandoned planet somewhere.
The Solus Project also had a great cliffhanger ending. I would love a sequel to that where you could get back at the aliens who enslaved all those people.
Assassin's creed III for me, I was waiting for them to properly address that in the sequels but they tied those ends in the comics
Trouble with AC3 is black flag. Black flag is set before AC3 and your character is the grandfather of the AC3 main character.
The biggest cliffhanger for me is the end in Anachronox. That game is really an underappreciated gem. Still hoping for a sequel.
For me it's Beyond: Two Souls in one of the endings the main character Jodie has a vison of the future, and in it all the buildings are destroyed there's not much contexts it's just the last five seconds so it's hard to explain. but just being the last bit you see I thought it was a big cliff-hanger.

Half Life Alyx ending is complete canon to the Half Life Universe. Just raises the stakes even more.
On The Darkness II one, blame the sorce material, The Darkness was part of Image's Top cow imprint's Witchblade universe, and hypersexuallized characters was a common trait there
I dunno, I think that era of comics was cool, mostly because you just don't get that anymore. You can't, it's considered outdated.
The artistic talent was insanely high back then, and sure, a lot of it was horny dudes...But that doesn't take away from their talent.
Tomb Raider, Witchblade, Watchmen, The Darkness etc. We'll never get comics like that again, sadly.

I definitely remember Dead Space 3’s cliffhanger like it was yesterday… such a bummer that franchise fell out. Also, kingdom come: deliverance has an annoying cliffhanger as well. The end just stops and you have two story missions still activate that you can never complete. No news on a KCD 2. Sad.
If anyone hasn’t then I recommend people check out the darkness comic series. It’s batshit crazy and sometimes absurd but it’s pure amazing and awesome. It’ll also give you a good idea of what the angelus is and why it’s the enemy in game. Totally worth it if you ask me.

The biggest cliff hanger of all time is dungeons and dragons the cartoon. I never got over that.
The Xenosaga series was failed by Namco, it was supposed to be a 6 part game but it was cut into an unfinished trilogy. It deserved way more credit then given. The only thing I can say as to why it wouldn’t of gotten finished is that it’s heavily religious to an extent and I can see as to why it was discontinued. Oh yeah that and the US sales vs EU and Japan sales. It had sooo much potential 🥺 & KOSMOS is such a babe!!!

The second dead space was definitely also survival horror but the 3rd game did turn into action horror.
To be fair, that Darkness ending isn't much different than stories in the comics. Angelus is actually a name from the comic. Also to be fair, Top Cow created a lot of pretty picture and some epically bad titles.

There was a Deus Ex game made for mobile that was an absolutely excellent FPS with RPG elements on touch screen. It was linear but in a way you could handle objectives in multiple ways and in different orders.
You spend the whole game tracking down a mercenary group just for you to never actually fight any of them. The ending is you getting into a aircraft to go after them, leaving from Panama.
The final mission had HEAVY firepower and hella enemies. All that build up to be like, "Okay, let's go get'm." And when you get into the ship I got excited thinking you're gonna go to a new area with a new environment and enemies. I'm thinking there's gonna be some dope boss battles; Nope. Credits 😳.

There's a 💩 ton of upgrades you can get too. The game is so short by the time you're done you couldn't possibly get all of them. Essentially you replay the game with different/more upgrades each time, but it would've been cool if it was longer and that would've made it more interesting to aquire and use the upgrades.
I did replay it like 6 times though NGL. It was a good game.
That conduit 2 ending is insane. Good thing only 8 people ever saw it so the sting of no conduit 3 doesn't spread far.
Medal of Honor: Rising Sun definitely had an ending set up for a sequel. Taking off from a Japanese aircraft carrier to go find your brother. That was one of the 3 games that really got me into video games, so I obviously have some nostalgia for it. I don't think it sold very well, otherwise they would have made the sequel. It was released in 2003, so well before the collapse of the franchise. A Rising Sun 2, with the level of game play that European Assualt had would have been so much fun.

Catalyst is my all time fav game. I think there's still a shimmer of hope for a sequel. I mean, do you have any idea how much lore and worldbuilding went into that project? They've got a whole nation/country with cities and factions, events and history, characters and technology. It's a stupid amount of creative ideation and writing to be confined to a great, but short story that never gets a sequel.
Metro Exodus may have been straight forward for the ending but there was elements in the game that I feel its not over with even with the DLC. Maybe its because I want more awesome games or I'm going into design mode because I'm going to school for Game Development.

A game that ended on a cliffhanger like a sequel was guaranteed is Advent Rising. After defeating the 3nd b9ss you find yourself on a frozen world, dying. As you collapse someone comes from the snowstorm and tells you that they have been awaiting your arrival.
I remember the developers made such a big deal about the story being written by Orson Scott Card (author of Ender's Game).
