You are so right, make it yourself. The Mexican pizza was the only thing I ordered at Taco Bell. I would be lucky to get a piece of tomato or everything had slid to one side. This recipe is better, I won’t mess up my own dinner!
This is the original way to make it I use to work at taco bell back in the day they started cutting corners and it changed that’s the only thing I do eat. From there I was so sad when they took it off the menu. Due to packaging it’s coming back guys they are looking for a better way to package it . I know this is a video prior to the removal of Mexican pizza on Taco Bell’s menu but I am really craving it. I found these Azteca crispy flaky taco salad shells. Instead of putting them on the molds to create a bowl I used 2 of them to make this recipe. So good but you can’t eat the whole thing. Great recipe, I appreciate it!
I made this recipe recently and it was so good! The only thing I did different was that I fried my tortillas in the air fryer. I lightly painted both sides of the shells and put them in the air fryer (I have an oven style) at 400 F and just watched over several minutes to make sure it didn't burn. I can't recall, but it was maybe 5 ish minutes, but I didn't really watch that. FOr me, that method was a lot easier than having the hot oil on the stove. When I tried it that way, I ended up burning them because I am not good at frying things! LOL

Ok so here goes. Last weekend we hosted my sons baseball team at our house for a pool party. He requested mexican pizza. 12 young men 4 adults and my other smaller son. I noticed taco bell brought them back they are $4.59locally. So I called that morning to order 50 of them. I was told due to supply issues they are sold out I was in a mess. I hope on TH-cam found your video and I must say you saved the day for me and alot of teenagers . I went to the store got supplies me and my wife broke out the black stone and in no time lunch was served. What a hit. And 1/3 of the price!!!!! Thank you so much

My favorite part is the end where she reminds us that you can put whatever you want on this and she put on GREEN ONIONS! They stopped using green onions on the Mexican pizzas in the early 00s because of an e coli thing. It was actually my favorite part of the Mexican pizza.

Anyway you just popped up in my algorithm so I told myself. Self, you have to make The Simple Way taco pizza. So I’m watching and when you got to the ingredients and said “ you’re gonna need a half of a brown onion” I snorted laughed so loud. I understand it was a slip up an couldn’t help it. I had a link saved for Right This Minute, because they had those contests to win an iPad, but I hadn't watched them in the longest time and came across the saved link and clicked on it. The link destination was no longer there, but it showed a list of videos... and the one for making your own Taco Bell Mexican Pizza caught my eye (and I have a super-craving for one now, even though it's early morning and I should be thinking about breakfast - maybe I can do this recipe and replace ground beef with sausage and add scrambled eggs?!). :-)

I literally made this tonight, but I hate onion and tomato, I added taco sauce to the beans, and I added black olives/sliced jalapeno and mexican sour cream (which is a good tad saltier) omg it was DELICIOUS!!! TY now following!!

I like that you used flour instead of corn tortillas. In South Texas they actually have flour tortilla chips and they are amazing.
