crazy how he can so consistently hit such a flat hard ball barely clearing the net at such high speeds, most players after a couple will have a more top spin loopy ball in there
He's got awesome racquet lag. He generates so much power with the hips and that racquet is blasting through the zone. Just amazing that he's able to get it so close over the net so often. That's what makes him a pro, I guess.
You can see the two guys at the other side of the court struggling to keep the ball down low after a few shots, proving that his consistency is out of this galaxy.
@@turk5007 The real match was yesterday in the final doubles and Rublev played a decisive role in the victory over the Serbs! That's it! Sofa espert! lol

they definitely should wear a mask, it has happened to me in training i hit my coach, not in the face luckily but once in the balls and is not good, there is actual risk on being that close throwing balls
So many people here on this thread don't really have a clue what he's doing here. This is a fairly standard form of practice that all the pros do from time to time - it's not about how you'd play the match, it's more of a kind of workout than anything else. The main reason he's hitting so hard, and against two people, is not only to groove his strokes but also to improve his strength and fitness. As I say, it's more of a physical workout than anything else.
I think is dissrespectful for FEÑA to compare one of the greatest forehands in tennis history with some only powerful forehand, even that is impressive but not at the FEÑA rate
Know your strengths, know your weaknesses....his strengths are genius, his weaknesses would destroy him. Simple equation...go all out on your strengths! Speed and intention all the way haha

It's about time for Rublev to break out and win a major. He's been on tour a while now, he has the skill set, and if he's going to separate and distinguish himself, he better do it in the next few years. Amazing, though, he's crushing these balls consistently.
oh when i just joined tennis classes when i was 8 , I went for the class and for the first week i and my friends would see who could hit the ball the highest . once i hit the ball so high that it went to a swimming pool which was just 50 yard away . now i hit the ball 3 to 7 inches above the net .
His way of training looks brutal. However, I wonder if it is effective and if he would be better of on focusing more on accuracy and relaxation like Federer does.
@@patscool234 Hi Des. I am not sure how hard Federer hits the ball, but is due to his timming, coordination and footwork. Rublev is one of my favorite players and a candidate to challenge the top 3 in the future, but still has to learn a thing or 2.
Completely agree. I was wondering what was weird about this video and I realized that it's super unusual to see a pro train like this. Even the biggest hitters like Nadal, Thiem, Shapavaolov, etc, aren't trying for maximum power during practice. Don't get me wrong, Rublev's forehand is a beautiful shot. Incredible racket head acceleration. But it feels like he is eventually going to wear his arm out. He had a good year, won some big matches, and even beat Federer. But he's still something of a one-trick pony, though it's admittedly a pretty good trick. Definitely needs to relax and focus on variety, accuracy and consistency.
@@observer1111 Many people defeated Federer on different occasions. Sure rublev is not a bad player - but he yet lacks all the things u need to have to stay in the top 10 for many years.
You see guys like Rublev, Thiem, Medvedev, Tsitsipas, Zverev. I mean, these guys are young, strong, fast, every bit as athletic or more than the Big 3, who are getting old. And yet, they just can't seem to beat them. I think it shows just how mentally strong the Big 3 are.

It’s not flat it’s just perfectly hit with enough Top spin and racquet head speed that he can generate the power
not flat
yeah, not flat, has lots of spin. Not high over the net, though - that's true.
