just bought mine for Christmas 2023 .. watching your videos and Cruiseman's videos to see what I may want to do with lights and other accessories, thanks for the ideas.
The way I see it Mr Caliente, it's impossible for a motorcycle manufacturer like Honda to design a bike that suites 100% of buyers personalities. Body size, weight, likes or dislikes for example. Each and everyone of us though made in the lords image are just different. We all add things to make ownership our own creation. I love your show and I must say Mr Caliente you have style sir. Thx David McMahon Alberta Canada. P.S I ride a 2016 BMW R1200GSA.
100% to your suggestion to Demo ride or seek out a friend’s Gold Wing in helping make a decision. It might take several visits to various brand’s dealership to “kick the tires” and demo day them. I demo’d the newest generation several times before I decided on either a Gen 5 or 6 and then whether a DCT or Manual. So glad I did. The DCT’s response is immediate and super quick with a seamless shifting. It really took motorcycling to another level. Like a Formula One. It became clear the DCT was for me. Honda set out 5 or so years prior to the rollout of the 2018 Gold Wing to reduce weight, overall size while improving the engine fuel management system. What we got is a more “athletic” Gold Wing. The demo rides gave me first hand experiences what the new edgier looking and 90lbs lighter Gold Wing would do, including the air coming off the fairing and the firmer saddle versus the larger body. Anyone wanting any generation only need do their due diligence as to which one. Manufacturers just can’t please everyone. Every brand of motorcycle has something you either like or do not like. Or needs to make it as perfect for it’s owner. As consumers, thankfully, we have choices. There’s no better time in motorcycling history to ride the greatest bikes from all brands of your choosing. Choose wisely. Another thought provoking perspective creating video Chris. Your bike always looks sharp always dressed for success. I do need to sit in that sweet looking Ultimate saddle. No one today, day in and day out, is producing more consistent, quality Gold Wing videos than you. Your production is always high quality. It’s representative of the professional Cat you are. A consummate Honda Gold Wing Ambassador. Kudos to you Chris.
I agree with you Chris. You're going to have to buy things for your bike that you like. The first thing I did to my 2016 Goldwing Was LED lights up front It cost me $2000. Then my stereo $600. Last but not least, my seat. $1100.
I saw one of your recent videos where you did a walk around of your accessories. I wondered how you managed to leave all your lights on so long. If I tried that with my ‘21 Wing, I would have killed the battery in short order. I see on this video, that you installed a lithium battery. Are they that much better? I’ve read that my battery tender will not work on a lithium battery. Is that true? What do you use?
I have the Ultimate Seat, when your order your seat, tell them that Caliente sent you. ultimateseats.ca/ultimate-motorcycle-seats?gclid=CjwKCAiA3aeqBhBzEiwAxFiOBuB7HvyVnVdby1sdgWYCefWN1XgY0iTU0rW-lKGENT81sx_WaUru5BoCaKQQAvD_BwE
I’m seriously considering The Ultimate Seat. I’ve only spoken with one person who installed one on his late model GW. He had nothing but praise for it. My wife and I did an 8000 mile ride this summer and the stock seat was the only thing that was a constant source of aggravation for me. She seemed fine with hers. I had installed Goldstrike hwy pegs for me and Judy. They helped, but I still found myself standing a lot to relieve my achey, breakie butt. I get that you like yours. Good to know. Thanks.
Honda decided to point this new model at a different generation of riders and pretty much turned away from almost all the people who bought the GL1800 and this has been the issue. The bike is just too small to be a real touring bike even if you are not 6'1 and 250Lbs. Two full size helmets wont fit into the trunk, well it has less storage period than before. It's a really nice bike but it's not what the GL1800 was and everyone knows it...
I test drove a manual 2018. It was cool to drive but it was too small, and had less storage. Also, i don't like the looks of it at all. I ended up buying a brand new 2017 Gold Wing and I still own it. But I recently got the bug to buy and add a new bike to the stable, and because I don't like the looks of the newer Gold Wing, I ended up buying a 2023 Harley Road Glide ST. They are two very different bikes with two very different experiences.
Thanks!
Thanks so much, I really appreciate it Glen.

I am off Nov 18-25, let’s meet up one day for a ride.

So far the Lithium battery has served me well, I use the recommended LIFEPO4 battery tender
Is that just the camera angle, or are your handlebars offset? It looks like the left is closer to your body than the right one.
My handlebars are even on both sides but it looks offset on video because of the curvature of the camera lens.
What’s the name of the seat you got on that bike now?
I have the Ultimate Seat, when your order your seat, tell them that Caliente sent you. ultimateseats.ca/ultimate-motorcycle-seats?gclid=CjwKCAiA3aeqBhBzEiwAxFiOBuB7HvyVnVdby1sdgWYCefWN1XgY0iTU0rW-lKGENT81sx_WaUru5BoCaKQQAvD_BwE
I wish Honda would make a easy detachable truck to ride as a bagger and then tour pack for traveling
Honda watches my videos so they might take note.
@@chriscaliente5033 I hope so bro Chris
Have you had any issues with pulling a trailer with the DCT and what mode do you pull it in
I've had zero issues.
I see you have a Ultimate seat on this bike and another video you had a Corbin seat, which one did you like better? What would you recommend?
Chris explains his seat opinions and preferences in some recent past videos.
Ultimate seats and Corbin seats are good!
Passing up everybody lol. Nice bike tho!
And my trailer pulls strait as an arrow!

I have the Ultimate seat on both Goldwings!
I realize that and appreciated your review.

Biking is expensive…… just accept it folks. I’m on my fourth bike and I’m always buying something to make it better.🤷🏽♂️
i totally agree!
That must b bad all the talk I hear my hog has a 20 yr. Old seat
You can pay now or pay later but it will cost you.
