At the start when pulling the vents off just open the top compartment and pull the whole thing toward yourself. Comes off super easy that way. Prying it upwards will break it. Thanks for the video; I had the exact same problem on my 2001 Sentra.
Hi super glad I ran across this! I now have air conditioning and heat on my face and feet, the defrost and everything in between. It is much easier to do if you pop the cords to the radio out and set the radio in the seat. My clip was still just fine but the plastic was broken so I used the clip and ran a zip tie through the clip. So very happy to have heat on my feet in the winter. Thanks for this video. One more thing I didn’t have to buy and replace.
Thanks, I have the same problem. Great of you to go in and show me what it looks like before I do. Hate popping panels off, good to know where everything is before I start.
Great video, keep up the good work. I was stressing because Nissan only sells the whole temperature control unit for over $300. Quick, easy fix and works!
A lot of this Sentra vehicles specially 03 - 06 suffers from all kinds of things concerning A/C. We have a 2006 that we use to go around and I wanted to finally fix the A/C because the car is in good condition. I took the car to 2 technicians and the car came back basically the same way blowing cool sometimes and most of the time is was kind of warm. They gave me all kind of excuses but nothing good came out of it. I decided to work on it since I have all the tools but I was coming out of a serious surgery so I did not want to bother and that when I found out this vehicles A/C are nothing but headaches is like they have some evil inside the A/C. Eventually I replace the air compressor with a Denso oem, replace the expansion valve, the condenser with the accumulator and the pressure sensor I even replace the blower resistor sensor. I also check for the controls and they work fine and check for leaks with ink. Also had the evaporator cleaned which is the only part I have not replace and the A/C is still not giving the cooling it needs to keep that car cool at 85-90 degrees. One would think after all that should be doing pretty good but so far noooooo. Before anyone asks we vacuum the system for 1 hour yes 1 hour.
Good explanations and descriptions. The video was a challenge but you showed everything needed to understand the problem and what the solution was. Zip ties look like a cheap effective fix! Well done!! Thanks
Thank you for this video! Thank you for showing and explaining all the steps. I'm working on a 2004 Nissan Sentra, and it's got exactly the same problem. Now I know how it works, how to get to it and how that cable is secured. Many thanks!
Good idea with the zip ties but they gotta be real tight, I had The same problem with the temperature dial ,it stayed on the heat ,the plastic Piece broke off where the metal clip holds the cable so I used a tiny screw and drilled the metal clip into the plastic ,it held pretty good but thanks for the video to take all the stuff apart a lot of Philips screws in the dash🤣🤣
Same problem I had a few years ago. Tension is too strong and plastics eventually dry rot. My solution was to rip out the cd chagner. I guess it would be the cubby hole below your ac controls and move the cable manually as needed. Wish this video exsisted 5 years ago. Kuddos though.
