I always enjoy your videos, and I like the way that you keep things simple. Fishing obviously brings you joy, and thanks for sharing that joy with all of us!
Mike, I have to say, I love your personality, how humble you are, how adventurous you are (taking on technology as you are), how simple you make all of this sound and putting for the effort that you have - for the sake of others. You seem like a great guy that does quite well with fishing (and camera work)....looking like a dork or not (Ha).
Mike I love your videos. Some times I wish I was out there on Lake of Ozarks with you and I like crappie too. I've fished them in Minnesota and Wisconsin, only up there they fish for crappie with little minnows and a bobber.
OK , I have been watching a lot of video's on crappie fishing with a jig's , I just might change my method to - trolling for crappie's - thanks for your great information & video 👍 👌 🎣 👀
Great video. Sorry about your friend. I just got back from LOZ on the 21st of Aug. and had a great time. We caught our limit in about 5 and a half hours on pink and blue/chrome bandit 300's. I am going to try those chartreuse shad baits if I can find them. P.S. This was my first time at Lake of the Ozarks since I was 18. (I am 59 now) I am very impressed with the crappie fishing.
Been waiting (impatiently) for your next video. Man, I LOVE IT! When you were winding in that tadpole fish and that other rod started bouncing, it took you a while to see it and I was yellin' at the TV, haha. I've caught MANY Bass on Chartreuse Shad Bandits. Red Crawfish always produced more Crappie while trolling for some reason. Sorry for the loss of your friend Mike. Already looking forward to your next one. God Bless
It is amazing how much you miss until you see it on video. When I watched the video I was also yelling at myself to grab that rod. Ha! Glad you enjoyed it. More to come.
3 pole limit here in Indiana and I troll with jigs and have had 3 crappie on at a time, I can't imagine trying to keep up with 6 rods. Nice program. I'll try the cranks this spring. [I like your down home humor].
outstanding videos mike! Ive been trolling cranks on Loz for about 5 years. People look at me like i got lobsters coming out of my ears when i tell them what Im doing.....until i show them a limit and they only have dinks. lol. Keep them videos coming! I like the way u set up your rig.... ever do any catfish videos?
New fan. Yesterday I returned home from a fishing trip. Falcon Lake. My brothers did very well with the bass. Very well. However; I caught many crappie on crank baits and no large bass. I love crappie fishing. Today I managed to find you. I will be learning from your videos to master this technique. What crank baits do I buy? Thank you for your effort and $$ you spend to produce your videos.
You said you were forming a team for the Grease Bowl. My question is are they gonna be sponsored by Tartar Sauce Advisory Council? LOL great vid Mike and YEHAA from East KY
Mike I just learned of trolling cranks for crappie and I'm hooked. I stumbled on your videos and love watching and learning from you. I am not far from the Truman or Ozark lake so it seems relatable. Also that practice cast you did in the intro of video #3 had me laughing my tail off, think you can make that your signature move in the intros?
Great video! Let me ask you this: How do you keep so many rods out on the water without getting all those lines tangle with one another? Is there a way that you limit the lengths of lines coming from each rod? If so, do you keep the ones further to the sides of the boat with more lines being let out and keep the ones in the middle closer to the boat?
Grand Wonder when I am flatlining like in the video I don't count out the line. I just cast as far as I can and always cast to the outside and then rotate the other rods to the inside.
Thanks for answering my questions. But I still need to know which lines you let out more? The ones on the outside you keep them shorter than the ones in the middle or vice versa?
Hey Mike. Enjoy you videos. Crappie and catfish!!do you have to tune your crank baits or are they good out of package. Reason I ask is I have problem my crankbaits rising to top when I'm trolling. Thanks alot
So glad we have the laws we have in canada. 1 line per person with 2 hooks max. And we have appropriate limits. Like 4-6 crappie depending on lake. Its sad seeing guys with 6-10 lines out taking 20 home at a time
No. You can vary the depth the bait runs by the bait you are pulling. I.e. On a full cast a Bandit 300 runs 15 to 20 ft., a 200 runs 12 to 15 ft. and a 100 runs 6 to 8 ft. depending on line size. You can be much more precise with line counters but they aren't a necessity.

Your not a dork you make the best videos thanks for all you do buddy
I have truly learned a good amount about pulling cranks from you. Please keep it up.

Thanks Sean!
Enjoyable video, got me all pumped up to get out fishing. Thanks.
Hey Mike, Love all your videos but particularly love your summer trolling on this boat. Also winter cat fishing. 👍😎👍
I am enjoying your videos. Learning from them. Hope to try this soon. Keep them coming. Thanks

Enjoy the videos, Mike! My kind of fishing. :-)

You have a new sub! I lost My fishing and hunting buddy to cancer also! Keep that attitude too. They would want us too. ATB!
Sir, you are a fine fisherman.

When will the next vide😮o be out for July 2023?
3 pole limit here in Indiana and I troll with jigs and have had 3 crappie on at a time, I can't imagine trying to keep up with 6 rods. Nice program. I'll try the cranks this spring. [I like your down home humor].
Try 1 in Illinois, notice how the more "liberal" a state is, the more restrictions. 3 months to permanent residency at LOTO.
@@gurugolf7438 say , am in Illinois also - has there been a updated on restrictions ? Also what is LOTO ? Just wondering that's all 👍
ever weigh your line down so you dont have as much line out?
Nice fishing and nice video.
Great videos Mike!
You talked me into it, headed to Fitz for some crankbaits and will be doing this in the morning! Great video
Great video Mike!!!
At least you can laugh at yourself. HAHA I enjoyed the video and keep up the good work.
Great fishin video!
Thank you.

I will be doing some catfish videos later this fall and winter.

LOL- the jokes
Great Video Mike..........Thanks

I typically troll Bandit crankbaits.
Guess what color?
You said you were forming a team for the Grease Bowl. My question is are they gonna be sponsored by Tartar Sauce Advisory Council? LOL great vid Mike and YEHAA from East KY
Enjoyed your video

Michael Buckingham That should definitely be your new intro Mike!!!!!!
Glad you guys liked it. I will consider that. Thanks for watching.

Grand Wonder they are all about the same length. I just cast them all out as far as I can..
Hey Mike. Enjoy you videos. Crappie and catfish!!do you have to tune your crank baits or are they good out of package. Reason I ask is I have problem my crankbaits rising to top when I'm trolling. Thanks alot
I have very little trouble with Bandits and rarely have to tune them. Flicker Shads require more tuning.
Great video!
Thanks for watching.
good video It works on my home lake I had to move around lake a lot but I think im getting it figure out thanks
Enjoyed your video Mike. Are you just trolling any area deeper than 20'
Sure. Trolling some water as deep as 75 feet.
When is the best time of year to troll these Bandit 300's
I start when the water temp gets to the mid to upper 60 degree range. The hotter the better.
@@MikeBakerVideos thanks for getting back to me. Love your videos. I will be vacationing at Table Rock at the end of July. I was going to try it
Robert McMahen good luck. Thanks for watching.
Here's to your friend !
What rod length and action you using?
7 1/2 medium.
this show was better than a swift kick in the balls...to friends past and present...
have you ever fished any NC lakes? particularly High Rock lake?
Jason Surgnier, never have.
Mike, great videos on trolling cranks in dog days of summer. How deep of water do you normally troll those cranks?
15 to 20 ft.
Thanks Mike. Is it usually over 40 foot or so?
Not always.
Mike, what size trolling motor are you using? Thanks, I enjoy your videos.
36 volt Terrova. 110 I think.
Looked like a Kentucky bass. They need to be 12". I live at the 31 mile marker
So glad we have the laws we have in canada. 1 line per person with 2 hooks max. And we have appropriate limits. Like 4-6 crappie depending on lake. Its sad seeing guys with 6-10 lines out taking 20 home at a time
are line counter reels not a neccesity?
Say , can I come a board and catch some crappie's ? I'll bring out some more lure's for you 👍
Mike, what rods do you use for trolling?
The rods in this video are Berkley Cherrywoods.
How do u get ur 300's 20 plus foot deep
Use 8 lb. line and cast them out as far as I can and let out a little more line.
Wow. My wish is to have my ashes spread in party cove!
How do you pick where to troll? Do you stay in the chanel ?
I look for fish on my graph before I start trolling.
On these lures do you keep the factory hooks or do you change them
Jeff Freuler I change them. A red hook on the front and a KVD Mustad triple grip on the back.
What size replacement hooks are you using?
Jeff Freuler #6
Thank you for answering my questions!!
Jeff Freuler My pleasure. Thanks for watching.
I really like your boat what kind is it? I have a champion but I like yours better.
Sea Ark Pro Cat 240
Mike are you going to make more Videos you have great content
Yes, soon. Hope to shoot another video in the next few days.
Great I've used your crappie trolling methods here on the frozen tundra
Chartreuse Shad
