After seeing a lot of these 450 r or rl videos I’m starting to think that this is what a new drz400 would be like.

Great overview. I would love to get a supermoto. However, i think I'm leaning more towards dual sport. Tenere 700 or similar.

Thank you Brandon, I appreciate it. I'm sure you will enjoy a Tenere, similar style/ seating position to a sumo but way better suited for off-road and longer trips!

I like the video and the review you made on the bike. I have numerous old hondas, 06 cr250, 07 cr125, 05 crf450x. I wanted to say that you can run the D.I.D 520 ERVT chain, it is an x ring chain, but was designed to be slimmer and lighter then the rest on the market. It will clear the case on the 450x without using a spacer, I use it on all 3 of my Hondas without issue 👍🏽

Got an 08 CRF 450R and if you know about crfs you know that's the best one ever made and I'm about to do a complete rebuild and I'm really thinking of going to supermoto route putting some street tires on it. What are some necessary things to change on it I'm guessing chain, I'm sure there's more?

Hi great video I have the same bike also and love it! ,just a few questions were did you get those mirrors from as I have been trying to figure out how to attach mirrors on mine as I have the hand guard on and seen yours great idea! .and what rear sprocket dou have as my 5th gear seems high and want to tone it down? And last do have to change your suspension for super moto wheels? Thanks, Mark UK 🇬🇧

Great video and you nailed the pros and cons.
If I would have kept mine, an aftermarket seat was next on the list. The stock seat is a 2x4. No give.
And I completely agree about the temps and rad fans were on my short list too.
    You uncorked yours?
You stiffened up the front forks yet?
I ran 4.25" rim (150/60) rear. It never chain slapped the tire. But was so crazy nimble.
There's a guy (481) on TH-cam from Texas that had a 2007 450x sm that helped me out too.

Thank you, I appreciate the feedback! Mine is currently uncorked a bit, I'm very happy with where mine is at right now. I didn't stiffen up the front forks but the front and rear suspension were rebuilt a couple years ago by a shop near the previous owner. I'll definitely have to check the 481 guy out!

What a nice bike, I have one just like it, I would like to know how you adapted the speedometer/tachometer to it.

I used to have a 250x loves it i sware i went 90 mph down the highway on it. I was half throttle matching there speed and then pasong them by atleast 15 mph when i gunned it. How many top ends have you had to rebuild? Motocross engines like this they recommend every 100 hrs . How many miles on yours and how many have you put on? Also is it easy to start i know the electrix start helps.

What speedometer is that ? I like the red case! I’m about to get a 06 with only 2800 original mils on it. That’s been converted to a dual sport, I’m looking into the super moto wheels as well! Thanks for the heads up about the spacer for the chain I wouldn’t have thought of that thanks

Hi Jbobarker2, the speedometer is a Trail Tech Voyager with GPS. The case and unit were put on the bike by the previous owner but by searching Trail Tech Voyager protector I was able to find cases that look similar to mine. Enjoy your new bike!

Have you done any carb maintenance yourself? I am looking to do a rebuild and was wondering how much of a pain in the neck it would be to remove the carb? Thx

    • @yonmoore
      @yonmoore ปีที่แล้ว

Carb is kind of a pain to remove, you have to remove the tank, seat, plastics, and subframe but there are a few videos here on TH-cam that do a pretty good job showing how it's done

You can change the cam and valves to make it as fast as the R. That's what I did to my X when it was time for a rebuild. But you also have to open up the air box, pipe, and rejet. Worth it. My X now hauls major ass. Waaaay faster than in stock form.
