3 out of 4 bolts i was able to put in place effortlessly but the last one (driver-front side) does not "slide" in the area where the marker (arrow)is but 2 cms further back so i was not able to install it. I will go to the Tesla shop to see what they say.
I bought and installed the Tesla roof rack. I have seen several posts about the glass roof cracked from improper installation. This has me quite concerned. Of all of the youtube videos about roof rack installation, I liked your’d best. How can i be sure i installed the rack correctly? Thanks much.
The other day I noticed a bit of the end of the rubber strip that is the middle of the roof rack has come off . There is like a 1/2” gap now to the plastic cover. No idea how this happened ? What is the replacement rubber I can get?
Hi Michael, Good question and I wasn't so sure myself so I did some research. It seems there isn't a reliable way to measure the correct force without a torque wrench tool. Good news is they can be purchased from most hardware stores and or borrowed from a handy neighbor!
My car is a 2015 S and it apparently has to have an "adaptor kit" to fit the roof rack that is now available. The original rack for my car is no longer available from Tesla. How do I get a correct fit for my car?

I reached out to Tesla on your behalf to get an answer to your questions and they referred me to this relevant information for your Tesla Model S: Model S (Glass Roof) Any Model S built on February 11, 2019 or afterwards requires the roof rack only. Model S vehicles equipped with the full glass roof but built prior to February 11, 2019 will require a retrofit performed by Tesla Service prior to the installation of this roof rack. Contact your local Service Center for retrofit details. Model S (Panoramic Roof): Not eligible for this product. A separate roof rack was previously sold but no longer available. Model S (Metal Roof): Not eligible for this product. Hope this helps. Although it seems you may have to contact your local service center and set up an appointment or speak with an adviser there for further clarification on next steps for your 2015 Tesla Model S roof rack project. They are very cheap - I would grab one on Amazon or a local hardware store. Super handy for a lot of applications
