- This is a visual comparison (no talking) between the new HK SP5 and a 1988 HK94 that was converted to MP5 specs. The HK94 has a registered full auto sear in a 4 position pack.
Not gonna lie, it was really nice to just have a no nonsense video with no music and just very detailed comparison to just watch and enjoy.

You need to show the bolt carrier block in the rear of the receiver.
As soon as I heard about the SP5 coming out on Forgotten Weapons my first thought was "Irm 1981 is gonna buy one immediately and make a video within 2 weeks". Haha

@@KevinMcMullen. call around for gunstores that are hk dealers. most will give you a timeline or waitlist. best to get started now then later. I have found a couple on gunbroker but man are those things marked up. I am on the hook for one anytime now for msrp.

Hey Irm, great video man. I picked up an Hk94 a few months ago from TSC, great looking gun. It does make me a bit sad to see them come down in price due to the SP5, oh well.
TSC does great work, they did my SP89 a few years ago. Although the price of HK94's will drop a bit, they're always going to be valuable.

So with your registered Sear- you can put that into a FA burst pack correct? Or will that not work? - also do you need to change out the bolt if you move the pack to a SP5 semi?

Will the HK94 polymer housing fit on the SP5 since it is clipped and pinned? Was wanting to pick up a “Navy” housing for looks.

It looks like the bolt face on your MP5 is a pre action 3 type. This would mean it was manufactured before 1991. Is this a converted 94? If so, I wonder if it has 12 or 16 flutes in the chamber. 1988 is when they were increased to 16 flutes.

So lrm1981, what's your consensus on it being able to be made into a sear ready host? The majority so far are not thinking it;s going to be legally possible to convert.
I don't see why it couldn't be. All that would need to be done is shave about 3/16" off the carrier block and a full auto carrier would drop right in the receiver. It's not a double push pin gun and it has a proper shelf, so I'm not sure why the SP5 couldn't be modified as a sear host. There are a ton of other clones that come direct from the manufacturer that are sear ready. It makes no sense to me why the SP5 would be any different. But yes, a lot of people love to argue why it wouldn't be legal, I'm just not buying it right now.
lrm1981 Well I would love to see it done! I’m trying to get my hands on a SP5 but so is everybody else. Worse comes to worse I’ll sell/trade my SP89, since my SP5K replaced it, for a HK 94.
@@ChuckFin321 I'm sure prices on the SP5 will drop after this initial rush. If you hold out, you should be able to find one for less than MSRP (I got lucky with mine). Prices on HK94's are dropping, so you might come across a really good deal! Good luck in your search.
I cant for the life of me get the right selector switch back in place. Its so stuff and tight i seem to also be shaving off some metal and plastic. Idk why this is giving me such a problem

Are the SP5 or HK 94 NFA items? Will the SP5 accept Magpul parts?
Sp5 with a stock is nfa....hk94 with a short barrel is nfa..sp5 is a pistol(can have a brace,but with a stock its a short barrel rifle) hk94 is a rifle,so with short barrel,it too is a short barrel rifle,gotta do the wait and tax stamp for either
But when they come from factory they are simple ffl dealer transfer like any other firearm at your local gun dealer

You can get Hk94 civilian version. Mp5 is restricted for law enforcement only
