+Willy's Adventures I usually only use NP-1 and that is what I used for all the flashings but for the rain grooves I used Apoc 3650. It's similar to a plastisized roof cement that can bond under water so any moisture under the shingles won't mess with the seal
+Willy's Adventures you can get a Henry's plastisized roof cement in a caulk tube in the roofing Dept. I've put my first shingles on in 1983 and I'd be glad to talk you thru a DIY repair. I'll PM you my phone number
Just wandered in here.A lot of good ideas there. The builder should of installed a Cricket and none of this would be necessary .en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cricket_(roofing)
+River rat Technically the flat (ish) spot between the pitched roof and the wall is a cricket. The saddle shaped cricket on the uphill side of a chimney diverts the water to both sides of the chimney but since this is in a corner it only diverts the water to one side. It should be installed with ice and water shield underlayment that would run 8-10" up the wall behind the siding and under the shingles in the cricket then up the slope of the pitched roof a couple of feet. If this roof wasn't old and in need of being replaced when the home owner can afford it I would have torn it all out (including the siding) and reinstalled it properly. You are very observant to even note this area needing a cricket and thanks for watching and leaving a comment
