He seems genuine, kind and he conveys information so clearly. I do hope he is like that in real life and I genuinely believe he is. Keep up the great work!
This is the part of my game that I’m concentrating on at the moment - gaining consistency, accuracy, and distance to driver. In fact, I am about to leave for the range to practice this morning-your video is the perfect coaching I needed before my practice session. Many thanks! By the way, the progress I’ve made as a relatively new 70 year old golfer watching your videos over the past few years has given me the confidence to join a senior men’s league and play in their competitions. Thanks so much.
Danny that is the best, most direct and informative lesson you’ve produced. Simple and straightforward in its delivery. That private lesson I mentioned to you recently with the posh old geezer, who stated ‘30 minutes with Danny and you’re sorted’ still remains the ultimate ⛳lesson.
I had been thinking too much about turning my hips in the backswing until I saw this video as well as the one on using a back and forth motion of my hips instead of rotating. The improvement in accuracy and distance is remarkable. The hip movement correction also has improved iron accuracy and returned my distance to a reliable point so that I’m not guessing on club selection. Danny is a great instructor. Four days ago I shot my age, 74.
Another great lesson! For anyone seeing Danny for the first time, he is one of the best instructors on TH-cam. If I lived near him, I would be getting in-person instruction. Thank you, Danny.
I've watched many hours of most instructors on youtube and in my opinion Danny and Porzak golf are the 2 best. They're great at teaching in a way that is very easy to understand and put to practical use for the average (and above average) player.

Hey Danny! I've known about spin-loft but didn't know how to actually change my swing to improve it. This video makes it super easy to understand and implement! Between this video and "tightening the screws", I've gained so much distance and consistency! Thank you for all the help!
Danny: Your ‘Secret Ingredient’ lesson is fantastic. I couldn’t help but notice while watching your lesson that the two walls in the background were different colors - blue and black. This contrast created the ‘perfect vertical wall’ to stay behind throughout your swing. What a great image.
I have been taught my whole life to swing through the ball, not at the ball. This thought has worked well for me to eliminate an outside-in swing and help to eliminate the hit impulse. Now I am being told to “hit” at the ball hard. So confused. You are the GOAT, so I will give it a try.
Often that advice comes before side you are hitting hard from the top. The key here is the power is at the bottom of your swing. Happy to answer any questions you may have after trying
@ This worked Danny! This is why you are the GOAT. I picked up about 15 yards and 4-5 mph clubhead speed with no extra effort. I would just caution folks to wait a bit on the downswing so there is no over-the-top or hit impulse. Then just let it rip to the back of the ball. Feels so good. Thank you Danny!
@@DanielMaude no, thank you for the tip. Never drove the ball so straight in my life only one OB today and that was my very first drive of the day at 8 in the morning 🤣
Worked on that today. It was a little awkward at first, but once I got it, I was striping the ball and averaging at least 10-15 yards extra distance. Definite practice keeper from here on out.
Am now approaching my 84th year and now after watching these videos have never in my 46 years of playing hit the ball as far or as straight or as easily AMAZING
Danny love your video been watching every week since before Covid .i try to follow your instructions what I like you tell us what position we are in when we make mistakes and the correct action to make a good shots .Other TH-cam instruction just tell us what we should do to strike the ball well but when your on course and striking the ball badly I love your instruction to identify the mistakes by set up and corrective action .Bad year golf this year gone up 3 shots out of single figures 68 years of age stuck with last month strike is back winning money off the guys again .Please keep showing us why we’re hitting the balls certain shapes and then correct and yes I have started lessons again with my club pro who has been at Borth and Ynylas for 47 years he’s been great teaching very much on your guide lines we can diagnose ourselves all the time .
I was looking for ways to improve my drive and this video has helped. It made me realize that my spin loft was too high and that my downswing was too steep. I took this video instruction to the driving range and started hitting draws and hooks that were previously fades and slices. I took it to my local 9 today and hit my longest drives yet. The technique added 20-30 yards to my drive, and eliminated slices. The only downside was an occasional hook. However this seemed to be controllable by having the left hip less closed at set up. Got a new driver in August and have been trying to figure out how eliminate the fade-slice. This video did it. Many thanks Danny from a fan from across the pond.
Great lesson, Danny! As a senior golfer, I really appreciate all your lessons that feature your Dad. I can easily identify with his challenges and apply your tips! Keep it up, friend!
Very very helpful and well explained. I have got my handicap down to 3 but I don’t chop across the ball. I still hit it 250-260 but I know with a better path I can hit really big. This is my work on for this winter. Effortless swinging on the correct path You got a sub out of me
Love this one Danny. I didn't know any of this. I thought you was supposed to have the shaft leaning back a bit not hands ahead to get the ball up in the air with the driver. Also been worrying about following through fully so today's lesson is a real eye opener for me. Thanks as always and have a great weekend
Hi Danny, you did it successfully again: gave amazingly simple advice to most likely transform or improve my golfswing. I must admit it takes courage to trust ones aiming to use the small gate instead of focussing at a distant goal, but I will check that out to see, of this is a good idea to improve my swing and ideally reduce the spin rate. Thanks for your pictures and visuals to explain mechanics and dynamics. This for me is great instruction and of big help!
The section on reducing spin loft had a great effect. What it did for me is, by pushing my lead hip forward, I was able to hit the ball straighter off the tee. on my only round to try this, I went 9 of 14 on fairways. I have not even yet addressed more power and already, this lesson is paying off. Thanks Danny!
Danny just played a round this morning and used your driver instruction. For me, the driver is my most inconsistent club. I generally, fade the ball and it rarely goes where I am aiming. The instruction for me was impressive, in particular the tilting of the rear shoulder and opening of the rear foot. First time ever, I hit straight shots where I aimed and increased my distance by 15 yards. The tilting of the rear shoulder, I believe, helped me to stop “ coming over the top”
Thank you very much for the great, easy to understand instruction! I've been struggling with a slice and just got back from seeing a massive improvement on my shot shape, club head speed and carry distance. It really is crazy how it feels like half the effort i was putting in before.
Hi Danny, tried this drill out on my last round and it helped me heaps hitting lower straighter longer trajectory driver shots. Setting up to target with a leaf or blade of grass 3 feet in front of the ball and aligned with the target has ensured i am aligned correctly. Swing my left arm through the window has stopped me pulling my irons and hitting them straighter. Thanks heaps
Hit rug wi’ bat. Pure gold. Getting the pressure in on the inside of the back foot is something I used to do. This is a terrific lesson even if the senior lads in Arizona might not immediately get the Yorkshire cricket analogy. It does explain why baseball hitters, cricket batsmen and Irish hurlers get natural distance with the driver though. This is getting a workout later today for sure. Thanks Danny.
That two-tone wall behind you in the face-on view really shows how your hips move during the swing, with the hip bump at setup, the backswing and where the hip (and head) is at impact. Genius ☝🏻 Also, I’ve always used an intermediate target (maybe a foot or two in front of the ball), but sometimes I just forget to use it. I need you in my head on the tee. Good stuff (as always), Danny

Found this channel today. I'm back playing golf after take 15 years off to be a single dad. Why is it I learn the most from people with an accent from Great Britain
This lesson is gold. The hard part for me after doing all this is finding the sweet spot on the club face. That's obviously important. I found I really like to push off on the lead leg. Its a timing thing. I seem to be gaining distance every week. Crazy thing now is I drove the ball into a water hazard that just a few months ago I had no chance of reaching. This can change the game. Thanks again DM.
I’ve watched a lot of your videos and they’ve helped me immensely. That little hip left at setup position has worked wonders for my driving. Off to the range now to do some effortless 300 yard drives….! Well that’s the plan.! 😂
Phenomenal video - I had never understood spin loft before this! My coach has me loading into my lead leg with some spine tilt, but understanding the "why" now is very helpful!

I have been using this method since watching your video with your dad and over 3 weeks have lowered my GA handicap by 3 strokes and am driving much further. Thanks. Putting is now what's holding me back.
Another brilliant video. Thanks Danny for all the content and for all the help you’ve given me. I’m new to golf and don’t have a handicap just yet but you give me the confidence to go and play and play and play. 😁

Thanks Danny. You presented almost all the things I do to loose distance - I would add one more issue I have - confidence, or maybe you covered that with your concept of trying to hit a target. When I started golf at about 55 years of age I had few skills but lots of confidence. As skills improved confidence grew. As I get older (78 now) I have lost confidence that I know where or how far the ball will go, so I try to steer the ball. These simple techniques you described today are within my physical capabilities - like your Dad. So when the rain stops I'll be out to my practice setup in the garden to try this out and see if I can apply your suggestions for the match next Tuesday.
Hi Danny! This is my first comment from Tokyo . Though there’re many golf TH-camr in Japan and I’ve watched them a lot,for me, you’re one of the best coaches. More precisely, yes, there is another Japanese golf instructor who helped me a lot improve my golf swing . But after I found your channel about 2month ago, it seems to me that,in certain points , he is following you too. Anyway, thank you for great lessons!!! Sorry for my poor English 💦
So clear. Thank you. I love the bit about the follow through... Looks good but as I've got older I'm struggling more so l end up like your high lofted examples. Haven't got the swing speed either so will practice loading left leg. Might report back in a couple of weeks😊..
Danny, that thought of putting the energy into the back of the ball has helped me great deal. That is my final thought before I swing ‘hit the back of the ball’!!!
Great advice, the exact thing I had discovered over the weekend with my NEW driver! I was practicing my impact position before each shot and stopped me hooking the ball with my new driver.(QI10) I’ll keep this thought you shared at the range tomorrow while trying to get more fimiliar with my new driver!! Cheers
@@DanielMaude hi mate, yeah I had to really wait on it a lot more with the new driver at impact. I even benefited from pausing slightly longer at the top of my back swing. So your idea of feeling that impact position certainly helped, and so did my other usual swing thoughts like hands as far from body as possible. But biggest difference to my old driver was having to wait on it slightly longer at impact, if that makes sense?! Cheers for feedback.
So good, Danny! I’ve been struggling with this same exact issue especially the last three weeks. This gives me specifics of what to work on at the range. Thank you, and perfect timing as always!
Thank you Danny, will practice this, I have been told to follow through, which is ok to make sure I'm not hanging on my back foot to long. This video highlights the importance of impact and spin. Educational and informative 👍
Thanks Danny any time I look at your videos I'm so impressed by your simplistic approach to hitting the ball and how you make it so easy to follow. Keep up your great work.
Thank you so much for this great content. I started golf 3 years ago and these videos helped me a lot to become a 12.9 hcp in this short time....greets from hannover, germany
Gave this a go today, base feeling like my hands are really forward. Partial success, certainly distance was as good as a good normal shot but kept hitting low on face… more work to finish👌👍 top work as always
Brilliant lesson Danny, I tend to try and slow the driver swing down, and guide the ball, and I end up slicing and loosing distance, because I'm afraid of losing control of the club when I try to increase speed. Thanks for the tips.
Good day, Danny just wanted to thank you for all the excellent videos that you are putting out to the rest of the world. I'm from South African just started playing lefthanded now and find all your videos very powerful and use your advice all the time. Thanks Westlee
Amazing Danny once again you have done a video on exactly what I am working on - psychic. So if I may be so bold a tip for your subscribers this feels amazing when you load the right leg but after awhile I started moving my whole body and not turning so flipped everything left. I focus on keeping the right inside foot firmly planted on the backswing stops me swaying. Would love a video on how to keep my shoulders more vertically aligned at the top rather than flat like I do (takeaway problem). Many thanks.
What a brilliant instruction! This can be applied to driver as well as Woods & Long Irons with amazing results by increasing speed and weight shift. Highly appreciate, Pro🎉

Yes your swing looks totally effortless! Really liked the focus on the speed at the ball not all the way through . Thanks Danny💗
Thank you Shelia!
Anyway,thank you for great lessons!!!
Sorry for my poor English 💦
Very kind thank you Chobiron. Appreciate you taking the time to comment!
Another great video Danny. Really like the reminder about loading into the trail leg. Thanks
Pleasure Richard, all the best
So clear. Thank you. I love the bit about the follow through... Looks good but as I've got older I'm struggling more so l end up like your high lofted examples. Haven't got the swing speed either so will practice loading left leg. Might report back in a couple of weeks😊..
Love to hear how it goes
As always, simple easy to understand and I'm going down to the range to practice this
You can do it Paul
Danny, that thought of putting the energy into the back of the ball has helped me great deal. That is my final thought before I swing ‘hit the back of the ball’!!!
Thanks David!
Thanks Danny!! I take a little longer to get these lessons down, but it all makes sense...keep them coming!!!
Happy to help Wayne!
Make it look so easy an effortless very simple and good demonstration as always very calm
Thank you Jaco 😄
One of the best videos to increase distance and overcome slice.
Really kind thank you
The best golf content on the internet!
Really kind Mark
Great advice, the exact thing I had discovered over the weekend with my NEW driver! I was practicing my impact position before each shot and stopped me hooking the ball with my new driver.(QI10) I’ll keep this thought you shared at the range tomorrow while trying to get more fimiliar with my new driver!! Cheers
Thank you let me know how you get on at the range!
Thank you Kyle!
Thank you Danny, will practice this, I have been told to follow through, which is ok to make sure I'm not hanging on my back foot to long. This video highlights the importance of impact and spin. Educational and informative 👍
Thank you Tracy!
Great lesson as always Danny!! I have been doing this technique for a year now. And my drive have increased by almost 25-30 yards..
Well done Carlos!
Thanks Danny any time I look at your videos I'm so impressed by your simplistic approach to hitting the ball and how you make it so easy to follow. Keep up your great work.
Thank you Kenneth!
Thank you so much for this great content. I started golf 3 years ago and these videos helped me a lot to become a 12.9 hcp in this short time....greets from hannover, germany
Brilliant Philip well done!
Gave this a go today, base feeling like my hands are really forward. Partial success, certainly distance was as good as a good normal shot but kept hitting low on face… more work to finish👌👍 top work as always
Brilliant, glad the video helped you Ducati!
Dude you clarify nicely 👍great passion and teaching skills
Danny, you make solutions to our struggles seem so simple. I'm going to work on this indoors over the winter and will report back in the spring.
Thanks Ted, keep me updated 😄
Brilliant lesson Danny, I tend to try and slow the driver swing down, and guide the ball, and I end up slicing and loosing distance, because I'm afraid of losing control of the club when I try to increase speed. Thanks for the tips.
Clear and simple. Brilliant!
Thank you Otto!
Thanks Danny I will take this to my golf range today you make everything easy to understand 👍
@PaulRotheram you are most welcome. Keep me updated on how you are getting on 🙏🏻
Another great video, I'll take it to the driving range and have a try!
Have fun
One of the best lessons well presented
Thank you Max!
Once more a great lesson. Thank you Danny 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good day, Danny just wanted to thank you for all the excellent videos that you are putting out to the rest of the world. I'm from South African just started playing lefthanded now and find all your videos very powerful and use your advice all the time. Thanks
Westlee
Thank you for the support!
Danny great tips will try it next time I am on the range. Thanx
@prakashraju1889 thank you. Let me know how you get on 👍🏻
Another great lesson Danny can’t wait to try this.
Have fun Andy
Amazing Danny once again you have done a video on exactly what I am working on - psychic. So if I may be so bold a tip for your subscribers this feels amazing when you load the right leg but after awhile I started moving my whole body and not turning so flipped everything left. I focus on keeping the right inside foot firmly planted on the backswing stops me swaying. Would love a video on how to keep my shoulders more vertically aligned at the top rather than flat like I do (takeaway problem). Many thanks.
Danny great video, really helped me gain distance. Should I mirror this with my iron shots? Thanks Graham
Just reminder the angle of attack needs to be down for irons
you make it look so easy, and it is if I could do that thanks
danny
Happy to help John!
Wow! Probably the ONLY driver lesson we hackers need! Thank you, Danny!👏👏👏😊
Thank you James!
Well explained as usual, I will work on this.
Please do! Love to hear how you get on
Great information, Danny I have to agree with Bill I would love to have a lesson from you. Thank you.
Hey Doug, will be running more golf schools in 2025.
What a brilliant instruction! This can be applied to driver as well as Woods & Long Irons with amazing results by increasing speed and weight shift. Highly appreciate, Pro🎉
Thanks Amitray!
Great video Danny as always. Reminiscent of Henry Cottons old tip about hitting a tyre with a stick.
Absolutely Robert
Thank you! Such a simple adjustment, making such a huge positive difference.
Thank you Sin, appreciate the support!
Thank you Danny, brilliant and easy to understand, as usual.
Thank John appreciate the support 😀
Great video for gaining more distance and power, I'll try this weekend :)
